  • I can't hear a thing you're saying, whats the point of this vid?

  • positive is mono and negative is on the entry of the jack (interrogative) :( or viceversa My keyboard doesnt work.

  • positive is mono and negative is on the entry of the jack (interrigative) :( My keyboar doesnt work

  • if i had to extend the wires, which we all probably need to....what size wire are the red and black.? anyone.?

  • thanks, this helped alot : )

  • Turn the music off! I can't hear anything you say. :)

  • do you really have to take it out of the case?couldn't you just connect the jack to it as is or would it not work that way?

  • This is exactly what i've been looking for, thanks man! What kind of wire would you need if you needed more length from the actual peizo to the 1/4 input? Oh and ignore all the s-bags that leave negative comments, this video helped some and thats all that counts.

  • where do u put it on the bass drum or snare srry if i sound stupid i never used triggers before.

  • defies logic why the music is so loud.

  • Nice. Not you, you're a cunt.

  • Cant hear a word youre saying you fuckin moron!

  • I am using an alesis trigger I/O along with these DIY triggers. I drilled into my drums about a half inch below my hoops and mounted the jack internally. my cables just plug straight into the drum, and the transducer is mounted to the bottom of my head.

  • TURN MUSIC OFF!!!!!!!!!

  • can´t hear the instructions man!! is music necessary???

  • So why are triggers $50 + ????

  • @danyalc07 drum companies need to make money somehow... everything is overpriced that way... TV's, cars, computers... If you knew the true cost of things you'd be amazed and horrified.

  • so...instead of buying a 50$ ddrum trigger ...i'll make my own for 5$...THANK YOU! =D

  • I was wondering if you could solder 2 of them to the 1/4 input. I dont see why not, I'm planning on making a double bass pedal for my yamaha dd55

  • probably the worst DIY video I have ever seen in my life.

  • eh i take triggers as cheating

  • @CTDrummer2112 i feel the same about double pedals

  • @christianconefery That fair

  • what!!!, I can't hear you, what, my ears are bleedin...

  • what drum modules do i need to resemble an electric kit (where you can plug it into an amp)

i was looking at the alesis trigger i/o but i dont think that works as a drum brain

  • so can i like tape that on a drum heat and use it like a ddrum redshot or pro trigger?? or i do i have to hit the trigger its self to produce a signal

  • turn down the music dude

  • Can you tell me from where you bought these transducers?

  • Check out ProTrig! That does an amazing job, I freaking love it!

  • can you just put the jack in an amp or you need a module?

  • yes, thats an awesome cradle of filth song but damn.... is way too loud.

  • hi there, I found your video very useful, but could you tell me if the transducer you're showing is like an ON/OFF thing or does it responds to velocity once mounted somehow to the drumhead? thanks man!

  • @rcbmusic it all depends on what you set your drum module to. That is how you control the sensitivity.

  • turn off the f.....ing music dude

  • dude that was way to deep of a comment

  • Trigger or not. Matters not. Drums are more than what you see or buy at the music store of choice. You can drum on anything. It is sound from contact. sheepskin, pigskin or what ever your heads are made of. Whatever you hit with a stick, hand, foot or anything else is a drum. Musicianship isn't made from equipment. It comes from inside each of us. Now lets create some music :0)

  • this is true i hit a sheep with a stick once and it made a very unique sound ha

  • Generally, it seems that people who have a problem with using triggers focus on playing ability and technique. That's not bad, but I do think that triggers open up a lot of musical possibilities, especially for people who are already talented.

  • why would you render your voice practically unintelligible with terrible music in the background?

  • I couldn't watch this whole video because of the horrible music in the background. Like someone taking a blowtorch to my ears!

  • i know the drummer sounds like a twat with a machine gun!

  • Am not trying to start a fucking flame war but why do alot of drummers concider triggers as cheating?

  • i know i had that argument with someone the other day its like saying using a different amp makes you play guitar better?

  • You cant make that comparison man thats 2 different things. But yea i would never use triggers i guess i dont care for them you know. fuck it if you use them use them period.

  • it lets you get away with making just enough contact to trigger the kick. so if youre playing really fast, physically, the sound diminishes. and also, with a trigger, all of the notes sound the same, meaning you no matter how weak you are with one foot, itll sound just the same as your foot. its bullshit.

  • @lokenovez Because when you trigger a drum you're replacing the natural drum sound. and no matter how soft or hard you hit the drum the volume stays the same.

  • the source in new minas, nova scotia is extremely overpriced that piezo is like 6 bucks

  • Whats the song thats in the background?

  • Nice drum kit at the end.

  • It's a nice tutorial but how did you think we were supposed to listen what youre saying with that high background music and a crappy Mic ?

  • Man i've broken 4 piezos already trying to get the sh1t out the casing :( so annoying!

  • @DonnyTEN I always just use a small set of handheld cutters and cut from the top where that little hole that he pushed through is. I cut around that and proceed to keep cutting around until the entire thing is out of it's casing. Hope that helps.

  • pretty cool i guess but would you bring these on tour or really trust this type of trigger for gigs?

  • actually I have gigged with them before and they work great!

  • @bjc92 what is there not to trust? if you solder it right, then it's not going to be any different than a roland or yamaha pad in reliability. DIY all the way

  • i can barely here you mumbling over that absolutely shit music. good idea though.

  • do i NEED an external drum module for this to work? or can i somehow send this straight to a drumming software like ezdrummer. could i possibly send this into a toneport which then goes to the software? please anyone help me!

  • yes you need a external, to convert the signal

  • @DilwynBlunob I bought an alesis trigger I/O. Works great, and only costs about $160 at musicians friend.

  • @DilwynBlunob I recently purchased a presonus firepod w/ 10 audio inputs for under 300$. I believe each audio input can be used for a trigger signal.. and I am going to use max/msp to figure out how to interpret the signal and handle it velocity-sensitive-wise. I suppose that also requires a macbook (for me, anyways) so maybe a module is cheaper and smaller. we'll see!

  • @midinerd I did this using my profire 2626 and so long as you set the input gain nicely the piezo will pick up a decent transient signal. I used some freeware called DSP Trigger (believe it's available online if you search) as a VST plugin, which translates the signal into MIDI - you can then route that signal into Superior Drummer, BFD or any other MIDI triggered sofware. I do this in Cubase but any DAW that supports VST should do. Also Alesis MIDI IO would work and is cheapish.

  • Listen next time you make a video please have the music turned down so we can hear you. I know you most likely didnt want to have to redo the video that why it like this.

  • Faultless construction, cheap yes but now try fixing it to a pad or acoustic drum head and you'll get a permanent 'note on' effect.. Useless!

  • Actually I came up with something that holds it to the head just like a ddrum trigger. it works perfectly and it doesn't false trigger....

  • KewlBJC92, wanna reveal what you used? I got some DW redshots..

so i know the foam block principle.. How (EXACTLY) did you get it to work? Thanks for the initial reply! D

  • @bjc92 could you make a video of it?

  • @bjc92 What did you come up with? I'll be putting together a makeshift drum kit soon and i'll have to cross that bridge.

  • nice vid. good idea. what function has the piezzo in the beginning? with the black case.

  • its a protective shell so it doesnt damage the sensor. it is attached to the bottom by an adhesive so it doesnt move unless you move it.

  • i was about to bitch you out for not soldering it, until you did.

where should this be mounted? just on the top of the batter like any other trigger? awesome idea though, thats all a trigger really is. oh and its pronounced pee-zo just to let you know

  • Great idea ! Thanks.

  • i imagined this one as a music video.. i laugh out loud.. seeing, the screams... are for solders.. ^_^ rok on! thx

  • this song is awesome

  • Nice idea! Nice song to lol (I can definatly hear it =D)

  • can u use trggers on a practce pad?

  • Your music is way too loud. Can't really hear you speak.

  • You plugged that into WHAT?

  • DM5 Alesis, drum module.

  • thanks!

  • what module do you hav??

  • you have good taste in music...cradle of filth rocks!

  • Man, this is a very good video. I'm definitely loving it, and I'll probably end up using your info. I have to suggest removing the music for your next video though. I like Cradle of Filth. I like them a lot actually, but it is kind of distracting me from the video. If you want to use music, try turning down the volume a little and maybe something slower... and instrumental. 2 different sets of vocals aren't very ideal for a tutorial. Still, nice vid

  • what song is that

  • mannequin by cradle duh

  • You are an idiot

  • if you think about it its a big throw off

  • damn right, finally someone agrees with me!!! thumbs up man

  • hey dude im going to purchase a dm5 very soon and i like to not spend alot of money my only concern would be are they sensitive enough to work every hit ?and will they work for any pad or drum?

  • yes they are what they use in every acoustic and electronic trigger.

  • what was that?

  • Probably one of the worst videos on youtube!

  • good job ur the definition of a faggot

  • Why is dat shitty music in da back ground Nervracking

  • No background music ffs! Can't bother trying to hear what you're saying -.-

  • informative video cud have done with out the CRAP in the background (MUSIC) Nerveracking

  • Fuck u guys this aint shit music cof rules

  • oath XD there mad assss

  • what song is this?

  • Is the piezo velocity sensitive?

  • how is the quality of these triggers? will they work good with a good module?

  • yes they are amazing, pretty much the same as any other trigger pad or ddrum trigger im gonna make a video with axis ekits soon. yea they sound awesome with any sound on any module.

  • man~u shuldn't put background music...disturbing~

  • I can't hear a word you are saying

  • Why put shit music over this video? you can't even hear the instructions.

  • Lol as he walking to put the trigger on I was like. O man he has a God awful Yamaha set. then he turned right to the Pearl...

  • What did you use to attach them to your kick? I just ordered a Alesis DM5 and before I buy actually triggers I want to try these!

  • tape

  • isnt it obvious ???

  • what kind of module do u use? man im looking for one

  • looks like it says 273-073 @ 0:20

  • i love cradle of filth nice vid too

  • Do you think is possible to use piezo from a headphone to replace Piezo Transducer? I'm from Brazil and I don't know where i could find the Piezo Transducer, so i'm thinking about this, what do you think?

  • they sell them on ebay, and just look for a listing that ships internationally.

  • buy one of those really annoying cards that play music and keep the circly band aid lookin thing

  • the explanation is very clear, but the music distracts my attention

  • cool song by the way

  • what kind of module do u use?

  • what cradle song is this?

  • Do you have to sauter it?

  • yes

  • okay,

i soldered it to the audio jack,

but when i tried to test the voltage output with a multimeter, nothing happened.

    any suggestions?

  • Hey, I'm very interested in this. I'm just confused about a few things. How did you get the trigger to project the sound? I'm interested in making a drum trigger(s) with a more bassy sound.. Please reply.

  • you plug it into a drum module. the sounds all depend on the drum module that you have.

  • Should redo this vid without the music, can't really hear you sorry.

  • turn off the shitty ass music

  • hello men.please tell me what is the parts that i will need to make one of this and what is that console that you insert the cable?

  • Hi you will need a piezo element and a 1/4 inch jack which u can buy at radioshack. and im plugging it into a drum module.

  • Hi,can you please tell me what is the drum module exactly?Btw thanks for the replying!!!cy

  • Cannot hear a fucking word you are saying. All I hear is Cradle of Fag blasting in the background and you muttering like a fucking Zombie.

  • agreed. why do you need a song in the background when you're explaining how to build a drum trigger? it's not very hardcore.

  • I believe it's Mannequin by COF.

  • Indeed, it is.

  • think the music could be any louder??

  • so how do u put them on your heads???

  • Thanks for taking the time to do this. If you ever do this video over, making it without the music would be very helpful. Anyway, I went and bought the wrong parts so everyone make sure you buy the right ones. I think the correct part #'s are Radio Shack Piezo Transducer 273-073A. I bought the piezo buzzer by mistake, it may still work but I'm buying the right one. Are these part #'s what you used

  • yeah If you saw my comment just under it you would realise I corrected myself.

  • great tip

  • Damn smart...

  • thanks alot man. Im going to be using this.

  • I wish i could hear what you were saying

  • Her ghost in the fog is the song, and the album is called midian

  • sorry mate but no it's not!!

if you wanna know what her ghost in the fog sounds like then type it into youtube and watch the official. Anyone else able to tellme which cradle of filth song this is please???

  • oh yeah sorry, its mannequin. album is damnation and a day.

  • Piezo Element 1500-3000Hz

    Model: 273-073 | Catalog #: 273-073

This 2-wire, 1,500-3,000Hz element is ideal when design requires low-profile devices and big sound. .I think this is the one

  • What are the names of these parts? And can i order them online

  • Wat song is that in the background

  • wait you dont need speakers? you can use an amp? Does it have to be a multifunction amp (keyboard/bass/guitar) amp? or is can it be a regular solid state guitar amp such as the crate you are using?

  • song is to loud

  • yeah I thought so too but if you turn your computer volume down his voice is louder than the music.

  • But still, the music shouln't be louder then him at any volume.

  • yeah dude i can't hear you :[

  • dude hav 2 say your awesome thanx4 show us this magic:s

will ya show me how to make my bass drum get trigger?

    incredible video!!

  • first of all u need a drum module NOT A DRUM MACHINE!!! anyway u plug the trigger into the module and into an amp....just ask someone at guitar center and they will show you.

  • mummble mumble sptooth dollartsh - CHUGGA GHUGGA what the fuck are you trying to say ya retard - turn the background music off and try not to eat the mic.

  • hey if your dumbass doesnt like the video the why the fuck would you waste your time watching it?

  • I'm realy interested in you video but i cant understand the half what your saying. Can you please make one without backgroundmusic?

Your saying that you can make a trigger under 3 dollars?

  • dude this eems pretty interesting but make another video were we can hear your explanation
