  • i think the confluence skin looks much better

  • Where did you get those xbox apps?

  • @master801 #xbins, IRC.

  • My phone has a 1GHz CPU

  • @MicroFoxGaming mine too :D

  • @960power Mine too...wait, no, I have the iPhone 4 so it's no quite there...

  • Shoul i get an xbox and softmod and install xbmc and tons of games on it or get a htpc that decodes 1080p

  • @UrGFsTaco I would go with a HTPC, the XBOX is getting old now and more so a collectors item, xbox was THE htpc but now you can build something much better

  • @UrGFsTaco These kind of projects (at least for these days) are more of a "look what I can do" or something to do for the sake/challenge of it as opposed to being completely practical. A much better HTPC can be build for pretty cheap. However, stuff like this is pretty cool, in a "what if" kind of manner. The original Xbox with 128 MB of memory probably could've helped boost the console's graphics capabilities considerably.

  • lol, porn

  • Is it possible to graph a 3.26ghz pentium 4 to an xboxes CPU and/or GPU i have old computers with the parts and a few spare xboxes

  • @r3fr1g3r4t3dxb0x Maybe using Linux or dedicated hardware

  • this xbox is overclocked?

  • @matheus357357357 There a lot of teaks to make this CPU work, it is not the original CPU, it's a mobile PIII

  • can you play movies in 720p with this mod?

I've got the standard CPU+RAM with an X3CE+Front Panel, 250GB and XMBC as well as linux etc etc running on it, XBMC puts out in 1080i or 720p. but still the xbox cant handle movies in higher res than 480p. does this solve that problem?

that would be the only reason for me doing such an upgrade

  • @Goazbox Yeah 720P h264 works fine

  • xbox looks like a piece of shit compared to ps3 hahaha

  • @ImAKillZoneFan What the George Foreman grill?

    1.bp.blogspot.com/-JHP9sZwLkmo/TcsDBxSSjDI/AAAAAAAAAZw/FLuonb2m9sM/s1600/ps3grill.gif

  • @ImAKillZoneFan You're a stupid idiot

  • @ImAKillZoneFan You know whats funny. the original xbox have lasted longer then all the new systems.

  • @CameronWoodward107 Actually the XBOX console was discontinued rather quickly compared to other mainstream consoles

  • The ps3 looks gay compared to the xbox.

  • @BAMinecraftNetwork No SHIT! I never played it, it was hot, loud, and power hungry, junk compared to the BOX

I bought it because of the hype and it was a well built piece of hardware, this version had the PS2 hardware chips but the PS3 was for me useless, waste of $700, got 300 back...

  • @MartinChir Yeah haha I got mine in 06 in july for my bday, havent used the piece of shit since 07. i got a slim for my bday 2 (didnt ask for) and used it once... I use my 360s and orig xboxes and sometimes gamecube xD

  • @MartinChir Oh yeah check out my vid of my customized 360 controller so far.

  • You mean 733mhz right? The Xbox original has a 733mhz p3 in it and the 360 has a 3ghz cpu in it....

  • @MrTpengineer No, believe it or not it could be upgraded!

  • @MartinChir The cpu is embedded, how?

  • @MrTpengineer Using industrial equipment to de soldier all the CPU balls, it is a Intel PIII

  • you can find it at xbmc 4 xbox google it

  • I belive it's 256mb ram...

  • What 1GHz Chip did you use? I remember the mod being implemented with a 1.4GHz Pentium III Tualatin Celeron.

I thought the Ram swap was neat in 2005.

  • @1HitKilld 1GHz PIII Coppermine

  • do the emulators work better with the upgrade im thinking about doing this to my slimxbox

  • @demonicfox666 Did not test side by side but there will be an improvement

  • Why mod one when you can get a better PC at goodwill?

  • @HaloSpartanG13 Because back in the day there was only XP MCE and bulky computers or slow slim ones

  • prOntography :D

  • james bond golden eye, that was the bestt!

  • I'm still waiting for someone to figure out how to replace the CPU at home! xD

  • hmm... still not enough power to render 1080p videos - probably the only good reason to do such a major modification that even diables ability to play Xbox games... and that's why the long dead XBMC project is now sinking in those generic PC Linux / Windows waters... no HDTV support

  • @maiki60fps True, true, looking at it today you think "WHAT A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY" but back in the day their was only very limited hardware media players and they didn't play games or vice versa, it does not have the power to play 1080i/p but could play 720p h264 just fine, 99% of the games played fine

  • @MartinChir

Never a waste of time nor money, its very fun to do and have. and the looks on everyone faces when they see its capabilities keep being fun to watch, even after all these years of advancements

  • was it able to do full hd playback?

  • @devlin2011 Not full HD, at the time I made it full HD was very limited anyway

  • HAHAHAHAHA PRONTOGRAPHY

  • @DjStiv3 lol, love these comments

  • what is it? i dont understand the difference

  • @ReptileHelper Faster and prettier (arguably), the main thing was it was the ultimate media center; games, video, remote, low noise all in one 450GB place!

  • nice porn. T__T

  • @XxJetSetRadioxX I planned on seducing my gf into a threesome with it, lol, never happened, never tried

  • do you sell xboxs with this set up or know pf anyone who does??

  • @neffect209 No, and I don't recommend it any more anyway, would be far too expensive and you can achieve something better with a PC box now

  • yea... too bad the 360 came out like 5 years ago... original xbox is 10 years in the making...

  • how much do u charge to softmod and the same hd please i need help modding my ssytem need it done bad

  • porn lol

  • Oh my god... it can run a nintendo 64 game. Every computer available, even the worst one, can run that.

  • @FRURMELLL lol

  • @FRURMELLL not mine... damn acer aspire ones

  • dude.. where did you get this version of XBMC? i am thinking of chipping a spare xbox i have (one i am using now is softmodded) and i have another one i can take the ram from.. very interested!

  • love the old xbox. got a modded 1 to. way better than the 360 or ps3 when it comes to play movies. just flashfxp to your hdd and play it with xbox media center =D you can even play fuking nintendo 64 games on it! how awesome! =D

  • How did you set-up the wide icons for the games?

For the menu i use folder.jpg but with games this doesnt work. Could you help me ?

    Tnx

  • @stupido103 The older versions of XBMC where more for the XBOX than the newer one's

  • @MartinChir i got an pretty old build...

  • @stupido103 Well I don't have the files anymore, I would get the T3ch builds, 2006-2007 is what you would be looking for

  • @MartinChir i got an pretty old build of xbmc.. not sure wich one

  • were can i find this version of xbmc??

  • @djv8 Not sure if its still around, google t3ch xbmc

  • Curious what's it hooked up to the T.V. with? o;

Like you know XD Component orrrrrr Crap tastic Composite/RF garbage? :D

  • seems to me with this "Ultimate Xbox" you did the same thing that a soft mod could I have all the same shit on my xbox and its a softmod I thought that you were gonna show me something cool

  • Hi, is this xbox for sale??? I want to buy it ASAP!!

  • @Meshflesh20 It was sold a few months ago to a person on a remote island off Australia for $500, he was very happy with it, I have no contact with him but I'm sure his is taking great care of it :-)

  • @MartinChir

Thanks for the reply. Do you think you can make me a custom xbox with a modded 1tb drive and all the other upgrades??(128ram, 1ghz processor)??? Ill make it worth your while. let me know. thanks

  • @Meshflesh20 No sorry, check the XBMC forums, there are people that could do something similar

  • Respond to this video... Had to desolider all the balls on the CPU

  • How did you get a 1ghz processor?

  • @Dimerah I had the motherboard modified by an engineer in China

  • @MartinChir interesting, what sort of processing chip works in an xbox like that?

  • @Dimerah It's an Intel mobile chip, kind used on Laptops at the time

  • @MartinChir the 1 ghz or the 733? cause the 733 was a Coppermine PIII/Celeron Class intel processor.. not a mobile chip

  • @MartinChir Sorry for the ALMOST YEAR response, but any more information on this 1ghz Chip that you might be able to PM Me?

  • hey i have a question ..your xbox with 1 ghz and 128 ram is it tuned ..customed (or whatever you wanna call it ) ? or is a retail console what so called xbox debug ?..like those green ones ?...thanks..beautiful tuto by the way good choice

  • @xelbaga1987 It's a modified retail box, the DEBUG has 128MB's of RAM and a custom Bios (like a basic OS, meaningless performance wise)

  • Dude you are my hero furthermore another win for Lg i love Lg products man sooo nice good work.

  • @keithryan1025 Thanks! Yeah I now have an LG BD-370 Bluray Network player too, good value brand

  • hello martinchir i might domload game roms to XBOX no problems?

    thank you

  • @70emuladorful No problem if you own the game I think check you state laws!

  • nothing special

  • @21071702jose Fair enough comment. I saw an XBOX machine that was cut down to just larger than a DVD cover with inbuilt WIFI added, it looked great so in comparision I somewhat agree with you but I think you could put my machine up in the top 10 or so best modded XBOX's ever, it has been very carefully modified and if you open it up it looks factory built

  • So the processor in your XBOX is a 1 GHz Pentium III Coppermine with a BGA socket interface, right? Or is it a custom built processor?

  • @ikilluish Yeah it's a BGA socket interface CPU.

  • @MartinChir Okay, thanks for the info. By the way, your Xbox is really cool. I want one really badly. It's also amazing the the graphics can pull off 720p. I believe the GPU in the Xbox is a dumbed-down GeForce4 Ti4200 since they have many similarities. Are you using the original GPU that came with the Xbox or a modified one?

  • @ikilluish Thanks, believe it or not it's mostly done with the XBOX CPU, the GPU supports 1080i output however the XBOX Media Center developers can't access much of the GPU features, and the CPU is too slow to decode compressed video that large.

I recently built a PC media center and the only thing it had over the XBOX is that it supported video recording in my opinion

  • congratulations on the excellent work, your xbox is a beautiful and more powerful than normal, this upgrade makes the high-definition movies run better?

it seems that Goldeneye is running better:)

  • @TheFred128 Thank you. Yes a lot of software just runs "better". HD up to 720p has been benchmarked to play more than real time by a friend and I, 1080p starts to lag. Still amazing for a 1GHz + 128MB system, amazing I think

  • @MartinChir your xbox is super amazing and does things that a PC of 1 GHz and 128 mb would never do, I have a xbox1 too, but no mod, but I'll see if I can find someone trained here in Brazil that can at least increase the ram to 128 mb, I believe that changing the processor to a 1.0 ghz should be the most difficult and risky, so say you did a magnificent job because it is too complicated to do what you could do on your xbox. congratulations again

  • @TheFred128 Yes it's a great entertainment unit, never even touched the PS3 while I had the XBOX

  • @ MartinChir the PS3 is a very impressive game, but it seems that its not being used, the PS3 should be up spider web so long without using kkkkkkkkkk now without games, the ps3 has some games that are very interesting. I think you must have completed these games and have played tired, you like xbox1, you have an Xbox 360? I have one and love it too, but has many things that makes xbox1 that Xbox 360 can not do, for example, run this nice bunch of emulators

  • @TheFred128 I liked The Darkness and Metal Gear Solid 4 however it was too loud, power hungry, and deeply locked and controlled by Sony was a great company back in the day but they have no idea about the connected world will live in today

  • How do u install this procesor and ram into xbox can u give me page where u found this.

  • @xpoolboy It requires industrial equipment, very difficult even for professionals. I installed many parts of the system but sent it to China for the processor upgrade, can't be done with a soldiering iron

  • so does it screw up your games? and if i gave you money how much would i have to give you for you to make this for me XD

  • @joshsniper27 I don't do this mod at all. There is a patch to fix compiled retail games, everything else works 100%.

  • WOW !

    HALO 2 XBOX - 64MB Ram

    HALO 2 PC - 1gb + Ram

  • @Razor122354 You have totally missed the point. Many applications are more convenient to be run on the XBOX, and they run faster on the XBOX even on much higher spec PC hardware. And also this is much a collectors items

  • man i wish i had the skill to mod my xbox with cpu and ram just for the hell of it and so the emulators would work better

  • @fuyingbro yeah it's a great little toy

  • hola ! podrías poner algún link del tutorial que usaste para cambiar el procesador y la ram ? por favor ! saludos ! :D

  • @gigantomaquia No hay tutorial, sorry.

  • how did u get all the things that are green on xbmc to b red becuz i want mine to b blue?

  • @greyhounds24 Well lots of things mostly software changes but for all green to blue you would need to modify the hardware/LED's on the front of the XBOX, they can be Green/Red/Yellow I believe, tricolor, not blue unless you change them

  • Si, Sin modification de la hardware es imposible.

  • how well does it run games? i mean is there any noticablt differences between that and a stock xbox while playing games?

  • I haven't tested back-to-back but there will be an according performance increase. It would be like upgrading your PC from a budget to performance CPU.

Boosting the performance of XBOX games was never my goal though so I never really bothered to check.

  • @MartinChir first off, how did u get ur xbox to 1ghz? 2nd, there would be no performance increase in games designed for the xbox, its not like a computer where the performance is scalable, the devs program the game to use the 64 megs of ram and no more because no xbox (not counting dev kits or modded consoles) has more then 64 megs of ram and they program it to use the exact power of the cpu (300mhz if i remember right) (source:8 years of programming experience and a phd in computer sciences)

  • @thrasha666 Hi, the CPU is BGA so it had to be re-soldiered. There is a flag on the XBOX compiler to set 64MB limit, it can be disabled, whether all/any games actually use this flag is unknown but homebrew such as MAME do use the extra RAM. The CPU I would think you would know can not run slower if the clock rate is increased. It can cause sync issues but there is also a patch to snyc the compiled .xbe files to run at the increased clock speed!

  • @MartinChir i know very well about bga and the flags as well as mame and other homebrew being able to use more then 64 megs of ram, however what im trying to figure out is how you overclocked cpu as i have found no documentation of this (didnt look to hard as its not a priority just a curiosity as i havent heard of it before) as for the flag that is simply to tell the game whether it is running on a dev kit or non dev kit (128 or 64 megs)....

  • Yes there a few ways around it. 1st the CPU has been changed not just overclocked, 2nd the new CPU ran at 100MHz FSB. When inserting it in the XBOX which is locked at 133MHz FSB it is over clocked to 1GHz.

  • @MartinChir ...and the developers designed games so that they wouldnt ever go over 64 megs of ram because if they did then they wouldnt be able to run on peoples consoles

  • Remember the XBOX is a x86 CPU with a DirectX GPU (not much to port over), just like PC games use more RAM when available it is possible XBOX games can too (I'm not a games programmer), also when you consider the XBOX debug console has 128MB. That RAM limit flag is there for something...

But unless we can get a XBOX dev here we can't be sure & it's just a theoretical debate.

  • @MartinChir btw i was thinkin 300 but thats ps2, xbox is like 733 but still...

  • My replies are a bit messed up...

  • @thrasha666 One more thing the XBOX uses a standard x86 Intel CPU so it's not all that hard....

  • @MartinChir im well aware of the architecture and what not i have a phd in computer sciences and working on my masters in computer engineering, but i swore i read somewhere that ms "locked" the console from being overclocked, kinda like when you cut a gpu die and laser lock it, ie: the 8800gtx actually has 180 stream processors but they laser locked it to 128 so people couldnt unlock the extra sp's without paying for more a better card

  • @thrasha666 I swore I replied to you! First this is not an overclock its a CPU exchange. MS did various things to prevent CPU tampering but they where trivial (from a security point of view); 1 the clock rate of the CPU is locked on compilation however you can HEX edit to change these bits, 2 there is a pin that has to be retasked 3 You have to have to desoldier a lot, lot of pins which can only really be done with industrial equipment

  • @MartinChir regardless of its a swap or oc'd, one thing that i had learned is that the os is written for the exact hardware (ram doesnt count) so ud have to have a completely custom os, even the bios would have to be completely custom

  • @thrasha666 Not true, it will run without a custom BIOS or OS however most compiled games (I'm talking retail games) need to be HEX edited to sync with the faster CPU, something like "733MHz" changed to "1000MHz"

  • @MartinChir hmmm...well maybe it works for the xbox but everything ive done programming wise and what not says that it shouldnt because the games/os are written for the specific hardware...then again the xbox is basically a pc's architecture and all ive worked with is sony and nintendo brands so the architecture is completely different, that or when i worked with them i just didnt know alot since it was at the beginning of my career like when i was interning and still in college...

  • @MartinChir ...i guess ill have to break out my old dev kits and screw around with them and see if i cant figure out if its "locked" (for lack of better words)

  • @MartinChir

I wonder how you hack an XBOX's CPU to 1GHz,I know XBOX is "almost" an x86 computer with Pentium III,but the processor is soldered on the mainboard, you unsoldered the processor and soldered with another Pentium III Mobile?

Got another question, can I mod my XBOX to 256 MB of RAM?

  • @MartinChir So in other words, this is not something the average gamer should even want to attempt?

  • @buysell216 Not really

  • No, not in games. The games already run mostly decently. What it would help with is programs from the homebrew community (like xbox media center).

  • @thrasha666 This isn't just for stock games -- homebrew games and apps can make use of faster CPUs and more RAM, and several are built to do so.

  • I am considering selling this system with all the bells & whistles; everything mentioned & also the official XBOX WiFi unit, Logitech wireless controller & XBOX MCE remote.

Offers welcome & it may soon go on eBay however it won't be cheap, it's in mint condition & extremely rare.

    Either way enjoy the video!

  • hi there, whats the quality of the downloaded movies and tv seasons on this thing, ay lag ??

  • Well the quality of the machine is amazing, I have a HTPC & the output of this XBOX is noticeably better especially on DVD's, there is no lag on anything other than 1080 content.

AVI, MP4, MKV, subtitles, DivX, XviD & most H264 will play flawlessly.

The software is all tuned for the XBOX hardware & I have high end "Monster" component output which is also a factor.

  • Si, cuando tengo tempo

  • en el video no corres ningun game ¿seria mucho pedir que jugaras halo 2 para ver su desempeño?

  • Fan speed override mate

  • Pr0ntography lol
