@MrRNDubleBarrel a rapier has a very fine tip, and is very thin at which it can focus all it's energy in a very pinpoint position for deep penetration (hehe) but *ehem* a small slash with the tip of the blade above the eye can handicap an opponent and could end the duel right there and then, i guess this lady was trying to make a scratch on her belly, but other than that you're right, wow this comment went longer then it should have sorry lol, i get carried away

Well I thought it was a good vid. (Attractive ladies certainly helped :-) After all, it was a vid about stage fighting. Real world. "The explosive power of your legs will carry you away from an attacking animal or criminal" Yeah... sure.... However, the explosive power of a M-1911A1 will stop the bastard in their tracks! (And if you don't have a M-1911A1, a Rapier will work most of the time)

I just wanted to post and tell you guys I think this is really good stuff, I personally approach this from the other direction, I do historical combat, and sometimes do display fights so this is interesting to me given you approach it from the other angle. Have you considered using historical rapiers rather than sports ones, I think the sound you get from them is better.
