  • Why was the pilot wear glasses?? He didn't know that the helmet already had a glass??

  • Glasses = Win.

  • WOULD ANY OF YOU WANNA BE A THUNDERBIRD PILOT? THUMBS UP IF YOU DO

  • Kenny Loggins song is from a soundtrack to a movie about Naval aviation.

  • @FlightLevelHeaded I know, and I've got three carrier landings and takeoffs under my belt including the USS Ranger where Top Gun name originated. Just the music I wanted to use. It was a rockin' flight and I picked rockin' music.

  • @FlightLevelHeaded AKA Top Gun

  • How do you get a ride in one of those?

  • @mymacon Friends in high places.

  • @mymacon It has to be to get the thunderbirds seen. They will do it for big name people, or a news guy, and also for people in charge of things like curing cancer and stuff like that. Thats why I am just going to become a pilot lol

  • @mymacon or become a pilot

  • Your video would be 100% better if we could hear. ...

    I know you swear

  • @Sarratt No swearing, but a lot of WOO HOO!

  • i WORK FOR PILOTMAG... new aviation pilot magazine ... we would love to do an article on them it would beb awesome.. they deserve the pr

  • Hey mightyone...who do you think was my wing man?

  • haha :)

  • i wanna fly so bad .....this must have been amazing

  • Amazing ain't the word for it!!

  • @soprano746 Then make it happen and just dont talk about it :)

  • how'd you get to fly with them?can i get some info on how i will be able to?

  • Friends in high places, VERY HIGH places.

  • lol can your friends be my friends?lol i would give up anything to fly with the T-Birds

  • It's a once in a lifetime opportunity. I'd had an earlier opportunity and got bumped but second time was the charm. Usually reserved for celebs, politicos, media etc. Anyone who can deliver some PR for the team which they richly deserve.

  • Thunderbirds include 2 F-16B trainers, which have two seats.

  • "We" is Capt Burt Nelson in the front seat and me in the rear seat of the F-16B. The rear seat has full flight controls, and once airborne I flew the aircraft much of the time. (Thanks for trusting me Capt. Nelson)

  • why are you in the pilots seat of single seat f16? Or is the camera that is on the pilot and you're in the back

  • its a single seat

  • yes i know that is my question. He keeps refering to "we"...but that is a single seat plane.

unless he's riding in the back of a two seater.

  • yea he ment by we as him and the other five f-16s

  • F-16 isnt single seated. Your really lucky to fly this thing :P I would love to be an fighter pilot but my country does not have the opportunity :(.

  • your thinking of a f-16B trainer. f-16 fighting falcons that actullay go in battle are single seat

  • @oke139 Well you better come to America then lol

  • very creative song choice

  • nm i got it. and it is a pretty ok song man so chill. its his video he can put whatever he wants

  • what song is it

  • can't believe you used this music...what a dick :)

  • I know you'll pick something better when you fly in Thunderbird 8. Can't wait to see it.

  • damn right.

  • It gives me goose bumbs

  • Goose!

  • hahahaha it does kinda look like goose

  • vocês vão ver futuramente nossos rafale c

  • its cool that some of the thunderbird pilots wear sun glasses while flying. u dont see that in the blue angels do u?

  • yes they have but maybe it's at matter of personal choice in training, live shows i think they are required to use their visors but i'm just guessing.. i have seen videos of B.A. shows where the solo pilots did wear sunglasses, so i dont know what the policy is on that now..

  • music is a little dated but i know what it's like to be in one of those i took a tour of the cockpit and i got to sit in it they are awesome if you get the chance doo!

  • Well, if you're the best of the best, which the Thunderbirds pretty much are, they tend to be a lot more lenient towards that kind of thing.

  • I don't get it...Thunderbird pilots are allowed to wear sunglasses while doing stunts, but the navy and air force will not let you wear contacts or glasses. There is also a contact lens developed for snipers to enhance their vision not correct it.

  • that's video from a back seat media ride in the bus - it's not a Thunderbird pilot

  • What are you talking about!? The Thunderbirds are the display team of the United States Air Force. A. sunglasses do not correct vision B. That is not a Thunderbird pilot, it is a ride along. Thunderbird pilots do not wear sunglasses, they use the visor on their helmet.

  • well i would say the F16 is an awesome Jet, but

i would prefer an F22 raptor in air combat. F16

is a jet that is both a fight and a light bomber

because of the UGB(unguided bombs) which are pretty good for ground targets, and do nothing in the air lol. over all i would prefer F22 Raptor. message me back on which Jet you would think is better in air combat! (psst, its the F22)! lol nice vid

  • Of course it's the f-22. The f-16 is 30 years old. Entered service in 1978...

  • god i can not wait to join the air force i want tofly so bad

  • See ya up there sometime.

  • The comp. is fearce! How old are you?? Remember that even these guys don't get to fly all the time. In the navy,a pilot might spend a whole tour as a cat operator. In the air force a pilot may spend a year or two as a desk jocky or doing some job that does not even partain to flying, all while being a full-fledged fighter pilot. It's still a great job though. GO FOR IT!....all the way!!Lt.superbummy!!lol!

  • haha thanks just turned 17 and chances are i will be in boot camp next summer haha its ganna be a blast either flying one or working on them

  • I believe working on the jets can be just as cool as flying them,if you don't get a flight contract that is.The younger you are when you recognize your potential, the better your chances will be to excel above your peers.Take advantage of your age while you can.Well, the best of luck to you.

  • Me too. What jet you gonna fly?

  • Me too. What jet you gonna fly?

  • well i wanna say the f-16 and eventually but sense f-35's are entering starting this year to replace f-18,-f-16,a-10,harrier its ahrd to say so prob an f-35,f-22, or f-16

  • Im crazy about F-22s so, Id probably fly that. But really, if we used the Russian planes, id Fly a MiG-29 or a SU-35

  • whooooooooooooo! nice.

ive ridden in a few bad ass planes but this is like at the top of the list, i think i would becom giddy. cant wait till they give me my "licence" to fly fighter planes.

  • if u want to fly fighters, you have to join the air force stupid. and by the way i know b/c my great grand-dad, grand-dad and dad all joined the air force and i'm going to too. it's not a just a "licence" for fighters. geeze know what your talking bout first then say it.

  • So, just why are you picking on this guy? I'm sure we all know what he means. I doubt that any person capable of flying high powered maneuvers is Stupid, which means that I doubt that you are Studip either. (cept for that last opinion). But if you are going to join our elite aerial fighting force to defend our country, don't forget that you are also defending our rights to dream, and yes, even to be Stupid.

Good luck with your most adventurous career, and safe journey.

  • just asking do you have to be American to join the American air force?

  • Well, i think you have to be a citizen. Were are you from?

  • I'm from Ireland and I've always liked American fighter jet in ireland we only have pc9s if you wnat to see them search

"irish air corps air firing" on youtube

    btw thanks for replying

  • Welcome :)

  • yeah citizen im sure... at least in australia anyway.

  • WOW EXCELLENT COOL thanks for another cool video clip. Us normal non flyers can only imagine the stress of pulling 8 G's in a toy like that. Keep up the good work!!

  • payton payton

    adam

    adam

    adam

    adam

    adam

  • navy music on an airforce flight??

  • It's not "Navy" msuic. It's Rock and Roll!

  • this song is related to the Navy because the Top gun movie

  • Danger Zone was created specifically for Top Gun, so Id have to say its "navy music." ( just my 2 cents)

  • i'd have to disagree. a red line overload is on a car O.o

It was just a song writtin about fast times and going fast, especially in cars. Though top gun is my fav movie, i'd still say it was never made for that movie. just used in it.

  • red line overload is in an airplane idiot. Thats when the wings can take much more stress.

  • Hey! I love the Top Gun music! SIMPLY THE BEST would be great too! :D Thanks for posting! Thanks for flying for us! The U.S.!!! God bless!

  • cool aircarft look for "riding rafale" it's worth it !

  • Yep yep this aircraft is for me best. Super manageability :) Pretty music :)

  • Impressive. :) BTW Have you passed out during this flight? 6 G is certainly enough for it.

  • Actually pulled near 8 when we did some high speed passes along the runway then a hard pull up. My vision tunneled out pretty good.

    But didn't pass out.

  • you dont pass out you black out

    differences:

black out:you can still talk move and know whats happening but your blind.

    pass out:your out completely

    reply to "SqbiDoo's" comment

  • its very well possible to pass-out

i experienced it in a g-force centrifuge it happens when you brain cant get enough oxygen (when the blood gets to your leggs)

btw you see it happen in some blue angel vids, the ride along will hang with his/her head down in his seat for some seconds

  • i was just saying the differences

  • k sorry :p

  • the blue angels are a little cocky. i mean wear a g-suit come on.

  • The Blue Angels aren't cocky. They rest their right arm on their thighs for support and stability. If the G-suit keeps inflating, it ruins the support and stability. I learned this from their website. Just search Blue Angels and their website will pop up

  • well ill give you props. it makes sense. but it is a lot safer and might have saved Lt. Kojack back in 07

  • probally not. but keep in mind im not a fighter pilot. but if i was i'd wear one.

  • hey this video is the exactly where I wanna be in 10 years. I am 18 and wanna fly fighter jets have any suggestions?

  • well if you go to air force rotc at a college for 4 years and excel in it then you may have a fighting chance. but otherwise it may be too late

  • Wow, 6 g's, you can nearly instantaneously onset up to 9 Gs, you got a ways to go until you hit the max performance of the viper.

  • Thanks for sharing that with the world bjorn. Indeed I can imagine nothing compares, and have nothing but envy for what you do! keep up (literally!) the good work! ta.

  • Stop putting that stupid, old, clishé topgun song. Shit i hate it!!!

  • Hey... I was the one in the seat. The one flying. I'll pick any dang music I please. Don't like? Make your own video.

  • Would have been better without the "Navy" audio..

  • Point taken, at the time it seemed a good idea. Thanks for viewing!

  • This video was originally made in 1987, at the time it was a good pick. At least to me. If I ever make another flight like it, I'll come up with something better! But thanks for commenting.
