This song isn't about romance. It's about the relationship between the father and son in the book The Road by Cormac McArthy. But I can see how it is interpreted that way, as that's what I thought it was first about. It could be about anything, actually.
@vott2035 Thanks for your comment. Well, as far as I know, the first version of the song is about father and son, while this "Twilight" version is about love between the man and a women. I love both versions, but still prefer this one... :-)
