Why cant I like that dudes comment about squats and deadlifts?!?! dudes practically spot on! This workout routine is not for building muscle. if you wanna look like a warrior, This routine is not for you. Its wayyy too much ab workout. Take it from Dorian Yates. "do abs maybe once a week a few sets just your body weight." ... guys, you wanna get big? wanna be a warrior? compound workouts brothers. not this crap. this workout will waste your time.
@EliteSniperKING I agree that this exercise wont bulk you up and get you huge, but if you do this after you're done bulking, I'm sure it would sculpt the hell out of you..
LOl, was just a comment giving the workout props, but I do workout and I take my protein shake when I do, Im just starting out after doing next to nothing for two years and Im always researching new things to try out to keep my routing fresh, like I said I was just giving this one props, thanks for the smart ass comment though, LOL
@MrDiver91 Wow are you seriously not the smartest fellow out, whey protein will make you gain weight unless you're working out. So the below comment was kinda correct. Unless of course you find a protein powder with absolutely no fat then I stand corrected
Yeah I'm pretty sure that the 1 gram of fat in Optimum Platinum Hydrowhey ore their 100% whey will make you fat!
"Protein has a thermogenic effect of 30% which makes it the highest thermogenic food compared to all other nutrients. This means that for every 100 calories of protein you eat, 30 calories are burned by your body to digest the food leaving you with a net 70 calories"
@MrDiver91 Protein shake having close to 0 calories? what do you think protein is? Protein is 1 of the 3 macronutrients that add up to the total calories in a food source. You dont have to take that from me... I just quoted that outta my nutrition textbook... But having more muscle mass will help you burn more calories than fat, so protein does help you stay in shape. but its quite complicated.
@brocklanders1984 not sure what you mean? you don't need any supplements to train. The only "supplements" that are proven to be beneficial for any workout routine are creatine monohydrate, quality protein powder, muti vitamins and fish oil. 99% of the "supplements" out there are ineffective marketing gimmicks and a waste of money, especially if your eating right to meet your desired goals. There's no magic pill or powder, except if you choose to pump synthetic hormones into your body.
@deanblaze2000 - I appreciate that this can be completed without any supplements. However, at 27 I am starting to feel my natural fitness levels declining and my body responding more slowly to training. I just wondered what things might improve my ability to train hard because that's the thing that has declined the most. I just ordered some BCAA caps and some myproteindotcom hurricane xs. By synthetic hormones do you mean HGH?
What are your training goals? that happens once your boby gets used to repeitive training demands, progress slows(assuming your physically well) Change things up for a bit, maybe strength training. Your way too young for fitness to be an issue. As for supplements i'd take creatine monohydrate( google it ) because it works. Forget the rest especially hurricane. BCAA are ok for muscle growth but pointless if your eating right to meet your goals. By hormones I meant steriods.
@brocklanders1984 remember everyone has good/bad days. If your doing a new routine and finding it more difficult than expected that's a good thing, stick at it. However if you feel your fitness has seriously declined look at your diet and recovery. If your sure they're ok, see a doctor. At 27 u should still be peaking.
Let me know what routines your doing and what your goals are...................
@deanblaze2000 - I am training for novice amateur boxing fights 3 x 2min rounds. Basically trying to pushing my anaerobic thresh-hold I suppose. When I was younger (21'ish) it just seemed that I would reach a point in training where I could just beast it flat-out for as long as was necessary where as now I find I just seem to hit walls more often. My goal is to be flying at 100% for 3 rounds.
@brocklanders1984 Maybe..1. your training harder than you did at 21 but dont realise it. or 2. Your not allowing enough time for your body to recover. Do u train hard everyday, every week? If so try taking 3 days off to revover( eat and sleep well). When you come back your energy levels will be greatly improved. Good recovery is essential for progress. You body develops and adapts out the gym not in it, so you've got to give it the room to do it. I'd say have at least 1-2 days off per week.
@deanblaze2000 - I currently train in the boxing gym 3 times a week and do another 3 sprint sessions per week and 2 weights/plyometrics sessions per week.
@brocklanders1984 If you just can't face doing nothing for a couple of days, do some light jogging or swimming. You can do your training programme consistently but you've got to recover. Sounds to me like that's the problem, burn out, No supplement in the world is going to be better than some good rest. Try incorporating different amounts/tehcniques of rest in your routine until you find the right balance.
@ranu01 but that is not the point here...the duds from Spartacus was big and muscular, not small and strong like you say....you must use weights if you wanna grow
@ranu01 no dud srsly...that is not how it works..you just train endurance by doing that, and that doesn't give big muscles, but rather small and strong muscles...you can get to a certain state which is pretty good, but in order to get REALLY big...you gotta use weights
