To ShapyFr: I do believe that this is Linux running natively. The program that is opened under winCE is called "harret", and last time I checked, it was a bootloader. So... for the folks that want to get linux on their ipaq, check out the familiar project at http://www.handhelds.org/
This shows how much you know about the Linux on iPAQ project. Research before you comment!
On some ipaqs they have not yet been successful in getting a bootloader to run on the machines boot, so instead they allowed for it to be run from inside WM.
and i stand correct: boot loader that doesnt load at boot? Pointless :-)
Yes the idea is noble and I wish they succeed in loading any *nix to pocketpc, but if it has to use windows to load itself then forget it, completely pointless. Might as well call it "linux emulator on windows mobile" ;-)
No, you still don't understand. The bootloader runs inside windows mobile and then you reboot into Linux. It isn't still running Windows Mobile at all.
What Haret does is to overwrite the RAM and load a linux kernel on it, so its actually linux running. When you reset the PPC the original bootloader reads the internal Flash ROM, and windows is booted again. But it's also possible to overwrite the original bootloader and the ROM to get linux running when you reboot the device.
hmmmm seemed a bit pointless as it was running over the top of PPC2003/Windows mobile 5. Good idea though and im sure there are ways of flashing the ROMs to run Linux natively
quien alla montado este video, adjunte todos los archivos para poder instalar linux en mi pda q no he podido conseguir lo archivos.
gracias

if its a bootloader why it run on top of windows mobile?
A bootloader should run from *boot* and load linux from begining, not after loading windows mobile first? :)

Like a -- dont know english word, may be bootstrap? -- prevent windows from loading after restart when it is loaded? Clever. very! :)
