This was not a 12 foot dunk. The rim of the alleged 12 foot rim measures halfway up the backboard of the 10 foot rim. The backboard on all NBA 10 foot rims measure 13ft. at the top. So that means Dwight Howard's dunk was 11ft 6in. NOT 12 FEET! Check at 0:10 if you want proof. Also take into account that Dwight Howard has a standing reach of 9ft. 4in.
OK the net was 12 feet but look at the size of Howard obviously he can dunk it. he did not deserve a 50 for that there was no creativity. you may as well give Nate 50's for all his dunks because Nate dunking on a 10 foot net is like Howard dunking on a 12 foot net.
It doesn't look like 12 to me. May 1 foot or 1.5 but not 24" higher. Maybe it's the camera angle but they should have had a ladder and tape to verify before the dunk to add authenticity..
Nate would never have taken it if the Superman didnt let him dunk over him and he pushed off him some kryptonite. Stop hatin on Howard cause your short dude won because he was short. Props to Nate but Howards dunks were hotter than Nates. Anyone can dunk jumping off someones back.
1. At 2007 contest he showed highest reach at 12'6'' - only 6'' reserve. When he dunked here it looks much more than 6'' - smth. like 10-12'' or even more. So the hoop was really 10-12'' lower than his highest reach that is not more than 12'6''.
2. Only speakers said it is 12 feet. No tapes or smth. were shown when they set the basket and Dwight Howard or anyone else who were there close around said that it is 12.
why are they saying 12 it looks like 11 but it must be the angle

50 points for this dunk?? that was a shame..
if howard gets 50 points with this dunks, Nate would deserve 100 in each dunk...

Rudy the best, Howard sucks! See it at Olimpic Final match.
Rudy`s dunk was much more difficult than Howard´s dunks. Judges kissed Howard ass.
1 word can describe ruby´s dunk : "INCREDIBLE"
