You can arm every soldier in a squad with an at4. And it can be complemented with reloadable anti tank weapons such as the Carl Gustav. Also a successor to the At4 has been developed, NLAW or MBT LAW, with top attack mode that gives it the ability to take out a modern mbt in a single hit.

@TATARSTAN59500 Well of course, the RPG-7 has been produced in larger quantites, is used by more countries and has been in service a lot longer. The AT4 entered service in 1986 while the RPG-7 entered service in 1961. And the AT4 has mainly been used in wars where the enemy mainly consist of insurgent groups, like the war in Afghanistan for example. The RPG-7 on the other hand has often been used in conventional wars against armies with tanks and vehicles and so on.

An RPG is a grenade with rocket power. It explodes on inpact but can't actually penetrate.

A rocket is a warhead, commonly with a penetrating head that goes through armour and may or may not have packed explosives.

For example, an RPG would blast a suit of metal armour into its individual pieces. A rocket would blast it to pieces...and then punch a hole through it.

A rocket is not a warhead, a warhead is the payload of the rocket. All "rocket" means is something that is propelled by a combustion reaction that shoots hot gases through an aperture; military or not. An RPG can be designed to penetrate. Also if something "blasted" something "to pieces" it could not thereafter "punch a hole through it"

The US Army and Marine Corp need a anti-structure weapon needed in urban warfare. The Javelin is great but at 52 pounds its just too heavy. The LAW-72 is obsolete. The answer is the AT-4CS. Its very light and carry to carry. It has a aiming system that can aim at the target. When used is is proven to get the job done in Iraq. Basically everything it hits turns to pink dust or unrecognizable rubble. It is available to friendly nations like Canada, Europe, Mexico, and others. It is a throw away.

@Ahamster1 There's a story in the British Army about the PIRA trying to take out a British position by firing an RPG-7 from a moving vehicle. A single window on a passing taxi dropped, out popped the business end of an RPG and, seconds later, the entire vehicle filled with flames and exploded as the backblast completely wrecked the car. Granted, these kinda stories are often exaggerated but, even so, the backblast on an RPG is definitely something to watch out for.

@YukkuriAteMyBaby There's a video floating around showing an recent Arab rebel stood behind an RPG-7 when it fired. Of course he got hit by the backblast, in the head, then drop to the ground immediately, motionless. He was then dragged to cover.

From the vid, he had no obvious injuries: no crushed, deformed skull or even blood. No burn injuries seen as well.

It's more like a giant, blunt mallet hit in really hard.

But yeah, you definitely don't want to be in that blackblast

It's the same principal with magazines. Once you're out of ammo, you take it out, drop it on the floor and put a new one in.
