god sick of seeing people using stainless steels. YOU ARE LEACHING OUT HEXAVALENT CHROMIUM. same crap that was about in the movie erin brockovich. now what do you think johnquick and everyone else doing this is gonna do with the water? oh ya dump it in the sink and in MY DRINKING WATER.

Never use Stainless Steel because it makes pure Gold and you might get rich, start a bank, then need a bailout. Be very careful.

You are correct I should have said using stainless will liberate Chromium, which is extremely poisonous. A very tiny amount of Chomium will damage your nervous system So switch the Anode to iron or plain steel..

I've done this process several times and it works fantastic. As said below, don't use Stainless Steel, and of course do not use alluminum. Stainless Steel does make some form of Haz Mat and I don't know what its called, but doesn't matter what its called, don't use SS it can be harmful. I have used copper before and had good results, but it got the electrolyte very green, so I don't use it anymore. I use channel or angle iron and have great results cuz its a bigger mass than a little narrow rod.

NEVER use stainless steel as an anode! It breaks down and creates Hexavalent Chromium. Only use regular carbon steel as an anode!

I've never seen anything that gives any real evidence that using stainless is bad. What I do read is the same old hearsay repeated over and over.
