  • Not True about immigrants , the real story is it was a TRIBUTE TO BLACK SLAVES , The original study for the Statue of Liberty was based on a design, "Egypt Bringing Light to Asia" and had African features and showed the broken chains at her feet and in her left hand. The caption said that this was the way Bartholdi originally designed her, but he was persuaded by the U.S. to change her appearance.

  • They should have a slide shoot out her ass into the water.

  • LOL. that would be cool but it would be known as defacing it and would create loads of corruption

  • hahahahahahahaha

  • haha that would be tyte

  • cool... I'm going to a trip to there tommorow, i guess its a little preview of the statue of liberty huh?

  • May I Ask:

What is the defination of freedom and liberty for American???

    What is the values behind???

Why is it important for the success of U.S.?

(I live in Hong Kong which is a very freedom region. However, I would hope to know what the American think about them)

Thanks for your idea in advance!!!

  • I would say for us it means to have the freedom to do anything you want in this country.

Liberty to me means standing uo for what is right and fighting injustice.

It is important, because it seperates us from the rest of the world. You can come here with pennies and work hard to become a millionaire.

  • Yes, I agree. That is why many mainland Chinese want to live in USA as well as Hong Kong.

By the way, I always have a impression that aeroplane is always a symbol of with "freedom" and "USA". Do you know why?

  • i never been there nunca he estado ahi but looks nicequiero ir ahi i wanna go there

  • I climbed to the crown when I was a kid, back in 1956! It was scarey, but I will never forget the experience. Climbing up those stairs, hearing all the clanking of the footsteps! Awesome experience. I hope they reopen the statue sometime soon, so other children can experience what I did. Thanks for the video.

  • yeah it sucks. i went there today, and the farthest up you can go is the balcony 20 feet below the actual statue, ever since 9/11, i think, they stopped letting people up there.

    screw you terrorists!

  • They are reopening her crown on July 4th :D

This is in good time for when I go to visit her in October!

  • i would have expected things to be much nicer inside lady libertys insides

  • I was there a week ago, she is truly beautiful. It was great to finally be able to go there.

  • not so pretty inside it lol

    still an amazing statue

i always wanted to visit one day :)

  • awesome.. wanna go there!

  • where are you seeing the twin towers?!

  • this is so sad cuae u can see the twin towers!:(

  • How can you see the twin towers inside the statue of liberty?

  • IT COULD BE A PICTURE

  • you are the most intelligent person that i've seen

  • I just got back from NYC lastnight. Going to the statue was freaking awesome. The view of the harbor from the top of the pedestal is breathtaking. It's too bad that were not allowed to go to the crown though. Anyway, have a great trip, I'm already planning my next one!!

  • I have heard that it is a restaurant at the top of the statue. If so,how do they get up there?

  • There is no restaurant at the top of the statue. This may stem from a story from when the statue was built. When the statue was complete in France, Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, the designer, hosted the press for lunch inside the statue.

  • that is soooo huge
