try playing this game again. and not on the gamebcube. it just doesn't work with that controller. try it on game gear, or on sadx pc edition (with a pc controller)

it really isn't all that bad. quite fun actually. a lot of fun. the sequal was a vast improvement in terms of presentation, but the controlls became more ballsy.

No, the character was actually designed with the name "Eggman" in mind, by Naoto Ohshima, the original designer of Sonic the Hedgehog.

In the Japanese version he was Dr. Eggman from the beginning and that's all he was known as.

Outside of Japan they renamed him to Dr. Robotnik and that's all they used (though they forgot to erase text saying Eggman a few times) until Sonic Adventure, where they introduced the concept of Eggman being a nickname for him. After that, it became his common name like in Japan.

For the Japanese version, Sonic Adventure 2 revealed the fact that Eggman's legal name is Robotnik, with Gerald and Maria.

Sonic Drift actually came out before Super Mario Kart. I didn't care much for SD1, but Sonic Drift 2 was very awesome IMHO, and I am usually very hard on games.
