  • put this in the next update please !!! seriously!

  • So Cool....

  • OH MY GOD WHY DID I SELL IT! i'm getting another one this very afternoon, thanks for opening my eyes to the potential of this machine.

  • Awesome man! I use my kp3 for both live performances and recording, but I never thought about it's functionality as a controller for graphics.. I see slot of potential for use by VJs in a live show for more dynamic visuals

  • That's awesome man! Getting my kp3 tomorrow :D

  • done via midi i assume

  • nice. but sense?

  • hubpages.com/hub/kaosspad korg kaoss pad 3 guide and review! check it out!

  • Do you use Max/MSP?

  • You have some amazing ideas, very cool !!! : )

  • Awesome!

Is there a good forum for quartz composer, that you would recommend?

I would like to learn how to work with that...

    Thanx:)

  • Please give me the name of software you use with kaoss pad 3

    thanks

  • hahaha .. anytime u are able to control games like this :D

would be cool if u try so play .. duke nukem 3d or something like this with the kp3 :D

or hey .. use it as cursor :D

  • This is quite awesome, but you need to be able to make music with it while it is controlling the 3d art. Subscribing until that time :]

  • sick

  • Cool video! Try out other things as well :D

  • anything similar on windoze vista?

  • great ...

what kind of vj software suitable for that?? and how does the installation??

  • fucking badass dude

  • hey, porchka66 - can you pm me the name of the track u used in ur video? )) I've got kp3 too )

  • Tre cool.

  • i want to go on it :D

  • the track was totally awesome :D

  • Not sure what program this is running on but I'd say you could do a simular idea using a program called Processing. Fun free program to mess about with making visuals...

  • The song has got a name?

  • are you using modul8 for this??

  • is there anything like this for windows?

  • maybe that could be a new kind of Computer Game^^

  • More like a demoscene demo.

  • This is awesome, I must figure out the program this dude is using LOL

  • Yeah... what are you talking about?

  • playing command and conquer 3 with this must be god lol.

  • can I play L4D with it?

  • i hope yes ;D

  • what soft???

  • amazing job. but yeah it's kinda useless unless your some kind of high tech baby sitter that needs to amuse kids hahah jk bro good job i love it

  • Am i the only one who feels like this is completely unnecessary? Computer + mouse anyone?

  • some people think using a computer mouse is way to mainstream. and Why not pay 300£ for an alternative solution?!

  • its not meant to be an "alternative solution". but think of the great possibilities this delivers for musicians & vjs...

  • Im guessing he didnt buy the kp3 to just do this...lol u guys sour or something??

  • Uhh, why the fuck are you watching vids on KaossPads? You obviously don't know much about them and what they're used for if you make that kind of comment.

  • Well you obviously dont know much about beards either.

  • Great video!

  • Olá. Alguém dabe ensinar como fazer para usar o KP3 dessa forma igaul ao do video acima?

  • Hi!

The video is very good! but I have the Korg Kaos Pad 3 and the Quartz Composer too but anybody say how we can to make this in our home???????

I don't know to link my KP3 with the Quartz. I can make it with my mouse or with a midi keyboard but KP3 no. Anybody know how I can make it???

    Sorry for my english.

  • amazing! What program are you using to do all this?

  • oh that is cool!!!!

  • Hahaha... you'll have him removed.

    Shut the hell up.

And awesome video, by the way.

  • By not being a dumbass.

  • do you need a computer for this.. or can you just use a projector?

  • nice

  • didnt know i could do thid with my KKP 3 :D

  • nice, Quartz Composer comes with every Mac on the optional install disk 2. I'm not sure of any other way to get it, but simply install the contents of the disk and it'll be there under /Applications.

  • hi, which application do you use?

    it´s great.

  • hey mate where do u download this program??

  • How do you program in quartz? i'm sitting on a macbook with leopard and i would wery mutch like to know how you made those. what programs and sutch..

  • ok i got it up and running now:) just needs practise:)

  • hi i wont to konw wahta sofrwer you use with the pad

  • that could be a perfect videoclip for this perfect track...amazing i am going to put into this of quartz with my mac...

  • Yay! Don't be an idiot. This has huge potential. Nice vid :)

  • Wow! And you have my screen!

  • like that

  • very nice! - good idea to do something different with the kaoss pad

  • is there a program for windows?

  • do u think u could do that with the pad kontrol??

  • Mental!!!

  • rocks

  • amazing

  • cool

  • i'm pretty sure he's using quartz composer with os x

  • does someone knows what software is he using?, i just got the kaoss pad 3

  • I think it's software that comes with macs. It's called quartz. It is like a visual programing environment. You can use it to create graphics that respond to MIDI, audio, and even RSS feeds.

  • nice work!! :)

  • you could also use this for like concerts, that would be pretty cool

  • "like" concerts, or actual concerts? :)

  • think he means like VJ stuff

  • i dont get it, why do this?

  • Nightclubs....

  • oh ok that makes sense

  • Also just because it's cool.

  • Well perhaps you should.

  • lol.. in means of beating my mouse against drums? or hitting my mouse for some "percussions"... thanks for giving me motivation ;-)

  • Either one! That click sound is rather catchy... I'm glad I could help.

  • i wonder if u could do that useing the xy pad on the padkontrol?

  • thats crazy....so what do you use for?

  • nice work! totally inspiring!

  • Is there anything KP3 cannot be used to?

    Best wishes from Manchuria.

    ^^

  • those look like french toast sticks

  • did u make the music on the kp3?

  • aww shut up

  • Would you be able to do this while using it for music, so you can get a double music + video performance that is synced together?

  • This pad is just amazing for everything you may want to use!

I'll get myself one of those asap!

  • excellent!

  • Do you have any text available online about your methods for achieving this? I like best the orange rectangles over blue graphics. Thanks for posting :-)

  • excelent , wonderful !

  • does it work with motion 3 etc. or is it a stand alone.

  • Very cool experiments... Regardless of all the previous comments deeming the KP3 as 'an expensive, inefficient mouse, this is incredibly useless and interesting as an interface that can control but visuals and audio in a live performance settings. Very cool work.

  • nice work!! :)

  • Sounds like one of the openings to those movies in the future but than robots or aliens or worse robot aliens attack us.

  • err u use it like a mousepad on a laptop so its really isnt the future its just inefficient

  • you are

  • a very expensive mousepad with pretty lights!

  • lol :P

  • u know phuck all what this instrument is about!

  • honestly. who really cares if u think that?

  • It's a good start....

  • all fery weird and cool but where is it good for?

  • The future

  • thats great ...now what

  • "Kaoss Pad 3 is controlling some simple quartz compositions i made"

You did not make this, is it not true that you took samples from zugakousaku*DOT*com? But I LOVE the improvements you made. Your color changes and additions (such as the fireball in the tunnel) are more inspiring.

    I recognize these:

Sample 1 ("grid") from "Line Art".

Sample 2 ("floating panels") from "Number World".

Sample 3 ("fire tunnel") from "Red Whirl".

And Sample 4 ("bars") looks like it could be built on "Fireworks".

  • Like I said though, I love the improvements you made. Can you please upload them to some file host if you'd like to share what you've changed? I'd like to use the grid as screensaver if you can reimplement the automatic movement from the "Line Art" composition by zugakousaku, which would make it pan on its own again :-).

  • I realize I may come across as negative. Really, I'm just pointing out something I noticed. I am impressed by A) your changes, B) how you control it all with MIDI, and C) the music is relaxing.

  • c'est vraiment super de faire ce genre de mix il y a des millieé de son de combinaison

  • what software are you doing this with?

  • Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

  • Can someone explain to me how to use one of these? please? lol ^^

  • The Korg Kaoss Pad is ok.

For a fraction of the cost ZUMA from 3D Max Media is 10 times better. 3dmaxmedia(dot)com

  • You are very good with the Kaoss Pad

  • this is really sick! i have to give that a go with my pad! check out some of my dj videos if you want to see how iv used mine!

    SAFE!

  • I can see myself having hours of fun with this...

  • great! but... how you can make invisible your cursor?

  • i getting a kp3 is that threw USB ?

  • i would say midi

  • Wich software are you using ? with a entrancer a can do it same ?? lets change knowledge.. :)

  • Ow and btw, NICE MUSIC! What is it??

  • very creative! Nice :)

  • Holy crap! The kaoss kp3 keeps getting better every time i see a new video for it!

Just bid on one on ebay for about three hundred bucks.. i REALLY want it o.o

  • cool combination

  • i mean quartz composer is useless untill this wow very smart maybe it can be used for drawing on photoshop?? who knows

  • They have one for drawing on Photoshop. Its called a Wacom Tablet.

  • thats not the same thing at all.

  • For what hes suggesting, it is; drag your finger around to manipulate a photo on photoshop.

You can do that with a Wacom Tablet, using a pen instead of your finger.

  • right, sorry. I dindn't realize you were replying to someone when you wrote that.

  • nice gfx

  • wow, niceeee!

  • very interesting. you might be interested in looking at Jeff Han's work.

  • yawn

  • How did you hook that up hardware wise? Is there a PC program like that one?

    Best wishes

    FRETPICK

  • cool.. whats the tune?

  • crazy shit. good work. peace to the liks

  • Now this is innovative!! I never thought quartz composer would have any real uses until this.

  • Wow ! You've just opened so many doors. I dig it !

  • Look interesting, lots of possibilities there

  • Are those images created just with QC and not played via Quartonian? I'm really interested to know more!! Looks awesome that you found yet another creative way to use this newly released hardware! Keep us updated!! Freakin Awesome!!

  • Yep, these images/compositions are just plain QC. I´m working now

on some more complex animations, and the integration of realtime sound-manipulation. I´l keep you updated ;)

  • Sorry...I'm interested: What is "QC"?

  • "QC" = Apples "Quartz Composer"

  • Wicked how did you do the 3d grid do you have any tutorials on QC iam trying to learn myself.
