  • Can I use Jennifer Eloff baking mix as a sub for atkins baking mix?

  • Hi

I'm so gonna try this recipe .BTW can i use fat free or low fat cream cheese cause i'm also concerned abt fat.will they turn out as good as yours?

  • @GreenhouseCuisine I routinely use the lower fat Neufchatel cream cheese. I think it melts better, but the non-fat is some chemical mix. I would highly suggest against it, and on a low carb diet, one typically fuels your body with fat.

  • You rock! I found your channel and I just pre-ordered you guys' book!

  • @RichoRosai Much appreciated, and I should have more recipes coming up in the near future...

  • 8 people work at Ihop!lol!

  • Hello! Have you tried cleverous 402 diet (just google it)? Ive heard some unbelivable things about it and my friend lost crazy amounts of weight with it.

  • Hello! Have you tried cleverous 402 diet (just google it)? Ive heard some unbelivable things about it and my friend lost crazy amounts of weight with it.

  • Hello! Have you ever tried cleverous 402 diet (google it)? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my sister lost crazy amounts of weight with it.

  • I made this last nite for dinner, they were GREAT, they taste like regular pancakes! Thanks!

  • Oh hai! Have you thought about intellectus diet (search on google for intellectus424dietcom)? Ive heard some great things about it and my sister lost crazy amounts of weight with it.

  • As someone who's also watching cholesterol, could I just use liquid egg whites? If so, how many cups worth?

  • @TheaterFan24601 I would encourage you to perhaps think outside of current media thinking on cholesterol. Eating more eggs and red meat than I did before, my cholesterol dropped 50 points to 148 on Atkins. Once you eliminate the wheat and sugar, the inflammation which causes the high cholesterol disappears. By only eating the egg whites you eliminate much of the good of the egg.

  • @TheaterFan24601 Take Kent's advice, I've seen so many people eat more things like eggs and meat and their cholesterol levels have gone way down! I know in today's world doctor's and the "experts" will tell you to eat less fat and foods high in cholesterol, but that's the opposite of what you should do! I'll use my friend as an example:

After following the Atkins lifestyle for a few months:

    Cholesterol Before: 212

    Cholesterol After: 166

    Triglycerides Before: 281

    Triglycerides After: 170

  • Will a food processor do to smooth cream the cream cheese?

  • @DawnFoxworth Yes, but I wouldn't over process it (just a couple pulses) as it could become butter.

  • This is brilliant! My 10 yr old daughter has Type 1 Diabetes AKA Juvinille Diabetes and her insulin intake is based on the amount of carbs she eats. What a wonderful treat this will be in the morning....THANK YOU!

  • @sdmomxs3 I am glad I could help out and give you daughter a new breakfast ideas. Sausage and low carb pancakes is a great low carb comfort foods.

  • hi are we aloud to dring the why proteen with milk and how many times a day I can dring to get energy

  • @manhaljeorje Not during Induction. Whey protein powder can be added in OWL phase. Milk is high carb 12g per 8 oz, so there are better options than that. As for energy, once acclimated to burning fat for fuel, your body is more than capable to burning its own fat for energy.

  • Just made these exactly as described. They were not fluffy at all but had the consistency and tasted like scrambled eggs.

  • @gorealestate Hmmm... I have always had great success with these pancakes, and taste like pancakes or thick crepes to me. You do need to leave them sit for 5 minutes to help them get fluffy.

  • I've got an idea have a classic English egg flour milk pancake

  • I'm curious...why aren't the pancakes induction friendly?

  • @kathywill61 The baking mix I used was not Induction friendly due to its ingredients. There are however pancake recipes you can make without the baking mix.

  • @bowulf Would Carbquik work in place of the Atkins bake mix?

  • @bowulf Could I use CarbQuik instead of the Atkins bake mix?

  • @BUMZONBIKES You could use it although I think almond flour might be a better alternative. Carbquik can sometimes have an after-taste in a recipe like this one.

  • @bowulf could i use the same baking mix with the vanilla whey protein u used for the pizza . i ask because i made alot of it.

  • @hossychew Absolutely... It works great for this recipe.

  • is that atkins friendly??? it sure looks delicious!!!

    great work!!!

  • @agronkis Yes, it is. It isn't Induction friendly, but if you have reached the nut rung of OWL, you should be fine.

  • only problem is soy is not a food and very bad for you. Soy was never meant for human consumtion...I avoid Soy like the plague. hard to do. At 74 , I am doing great. I don't eat breasd from your markets.

  • I am still flabbergasted by your weight loss, truly amazing, one thing that has me back on Atkins is that I got my cholestorol checked recently and it had gone up 45 pts!It really scared me, But, I have not been working out , like I used to, walking or eliptical 2 x a week, so now I'm back on and going back to the doc in 2 mos to be weighed again and another cholestol test, and feeling very hopeful, you are truly inspirational! (:

  • @angelbrenda Thank you!

  • your the guy who lost like 200 pounds in a year rite?

  • @chianese36 I lost roughly 210 pounds in 15 months. (429 pounds to 218 at my lowest)

  • This looks delicious! Thank you :)

  • @giftserenity You are very welcome!

  • i wonder how much fat is in ur arteries

  • @Medster66 Actually the Atkins Diet is phenomenal is reducing both fat / lipids in one's blood (lowering LDL and triglycerides while increasing HDL) AND reducing plaque build up in one's arteries.

Mine (cholesterol and heart risk factors) for instance are fantastic.

  • @bowulf I don't know what my cholesterol is, but I just had a blood test and the doc didn't mention anything about it, while pre-Atkins I was told I might have to go on statins or whatever. What's unbelievable is what I eat: bacon & eggs almost daily, butter, meat. I should be dead, right? Go figure.

  • Any suggestions for toppings besides just butter?

  • @Astrat100 In the video description, I like to the low carb pancake syrup I recommend. At 8:53, you can also see another recommended (low sugar alcohol) sugar free syrup.

  • fat boy ,fat boy what u gonna do,when aliens come to eat u!?!

  • @daliboranisijevic Be thankful I don't have to respond to idiotic comments like this one.

  • @daliboranisijevic its not eat u, its - Fat(Bad) boy, fat boy, What you gonna do, What you gonna do, when aliens come for u.

  • Can you have low carb pancakes on induction? I know this is probably a stupid question, but I don't feel like looking back at other videos right now. lol

  • @TasteLikeMonkeySpit im no expert , lol but in the description it says this recipe isn't Induction friendly. but, after the first two weeks, you can make it with Almond Flour

  • u think instead of the baking mix that I can use coconut flour?

  • @carapot Just answered that question 2 days ago -- " @amyprn65 You may need to add a little baking powder to get the same leavening effect or just enjoy a thinner pancake. :-)"

  • hi kent, can i make the batter and leave in the fridge for the next day or 2?

  • @librangirl1 I would think that would be fine, or you could make them and reheat the next day as well.

  • WOW! Thanks for the quick reply bowulf. You are such an inspiration!

  • Great Job! I have learned so much about low carb from your videos. I was wondering if coconut flour could be used instead of the Atkins mix?

    Thanks in advance!

  • @amyprn65 You may need to add a little baking powder to get the same leavening effect or just enjoy a thinner pancake. :-)

  • Hi Kent!! I love to see your videos, I live in Mexico, in the border to El Paso, Tx, but in wallmart right there I haven´t found the Atkins All Purpose Baking Mix, so I boght the Whole Wheat graham flour, the nutrition facts per 39 grs: Total carbs 22g , 7%, dietary fiber 4g, 16%, sugars 0, protein 4g, etc, can you give me your opinion please? I would apreciate :), saludos desde Mexico amigo!!

  • Hi Kent, firstly you a true inspiration and many thanks for your videos, i probably would have never got as far as this without them. In the info you say they can be induc friendly using almond flour but you also say nuts are forbiden until OWL. Have i missed something. Cheers

  • If I said that, I was wrong... I'll have to put a sticky on that time to ignore the Iowan for he knows not what he says...

  • could i substitute the baking mix with zero carb protein powder?

  • I would suggest using almond meal instead of whey protein powder.

  • Thanks, I will definitely try this weekend. The Maple Grove low carb mix, is too high in calories & too expensive.!!

One question. If the pancakes are so low in carbs, why can't it be used during the induction period?

    Thanks, much!!

  • Remember Induction is more than just being under 20g of carbs per day. It is eating according to the rules and only the acceptable foods of Induction, which the soy flour or Atkins Baking Mix is not.

  • Thanks a lot for the quick reply!!

Even though your recipe is ONLY 1.7g per pancake??

IF- I substitute with the almond flour, would that be OK?

    Thanks again!

  • Yep, it wouldn't matter if it was zero grams. If it's not on the list, it's off limits for the first 14 days of Induction or however long you choose to be Extended Induction. Check out my "Induction is more than just 20g Carbs or less per day video" for why this is true.

Almonds and nuts are not allowed in the first 14 days either. They are a rung 2 or 3 food on OWL phase.

  • atkins diet is a joke, its good if you just wanna lose overall weight and if you dont care if that weight is half muscle.

  • Explain to me how a diet that is not severely Calorically restricted, rich in amino acids, and fuels the body primarily on fat would case muscle wasting? Also please explain why multiple studies have shown Atkins Diet followers lost the LEAST lean body boss and the MOST fat in comparison to Low Fat, and other low Caloric diet. Sorry it would appear you don't have the facts on your side.

  • Thanks, Bowulf!!!!!

  • @Alive4Metal that doesn't make any sense at all - you need to learn what the body burns first - its fat, then muscle - muscles burn calories - so you want to KEEP as much muscle mass as possible, and working out with weights to build muscle - otherwise dieting for a little while will drop some pounds but then you will just gain it all back when you stop dieting -duh

  • Thank you so much. I will be able to enjoy pancakes with the rest now. Greetings

  • Glad I could help!

  • Hi, I watch you all the way from Spain...! We don't have Atkins products over here, like the bake Mix you use. I dind't get the substitutes products you mentioned because my english is not that good. Can you write them down also?

Thank you for taking the time to write down the information on your videos, makes it a lot easier for me. Greetings.

  • Here' s the recipe for the Atkins Diet Baking Mix Clone: * 1/2 cup soy flour and 1 cup soy protein isolate

    - or - * 1 cup of almond flour

and combine either one with: * 1 Tablespoons baking soda * 1 teaspoon salt * 1 packet of Splenda

  • atkin's diet is awesome! also my blood type is "O" and even if i follow the doctor's blood type diet, it also low carb diet:) I was on atkin's for 2weeks and i lost 10lbs but I included exercise of course:) remember to eat lots of green veggies and drink lots of water! because protein has a lot of toxins. if you can, start of your day with a cup of green tea;)

  • Got to love this one! Have you tried the "Cheese Pancakes" in the Complete Dr. Atkins Book?

  • No I haven't. What's in them?

  • can put the remaining batter in the fridge for other days if you didn't finish fry all of the batter? Or it is better to fry all of them and keep the renaining pancake in the fridge and then reheat them once you wanna eat them..

  • I would suggest making them all, and then reheat. The batter may get a bit gummy if it sits around.

  • I can see that my problem would be the inability to eat just one. I'd make up 20 and eat the lot, so I just don't go there!

  • If you were in full fledge ketosis, the appetite suppression would say aren't you full yet, and stop you eating. I was the same way -- eating up to 2 large pizzas, and I finally found my full switch only through this diet.

  • can i use pure vanilla ... now vanilla extract i have pure vanilla and it is not liquid

  • You can, but it might be a little potent and difficult to replicate the 1/4 tsp amount from the bean.

  • nah i just found out that i do have vanilla extract in my kitchen.... i tried your recipe and it is awesome !!! like one hunder times better than the original pancakes !

can you make a tutorial on how to make lowcarb pasta or lasagna ???

  • Check out my video -- low carb chicken broccoli alfredo for pasta substitute ideas, and I have seen some delicious recipes for lasagna using eggplant.

  • Do you mean the raw plant? I have never seen raw vanilla bean in any store. Is it in specialty stores?

  • can i buy like diet cookies but not from atkins

and the whole bag of cookies is only 11 gram carbs?

  • Not on Induction. Read the ingredients, and evaluate them against the acceptable foods list for Induction. After Induction, you can probably add them during the appropriate rung.

  • Have yo tried chocoperfection bars yet?

  • Yes, but I am not too much of a fan. I don't like dark chocolate, and I am always cautious with with any new sweetener too. Even if oligofructose is safe, I just try to be cognizant of how much I have.

  • Kent I tried to find the Atkins baking mix do you know where I can buy it? I went to the Atkins website and they have bake mix but its on pre order only so I'm sure your not using that its a new one that is coming out in Aug 2009. Thanks for the help. PS the also have new pasta coming out!

  • They don't sell the original one any longer. You will have to make your own - there are recipes for homemade Atkins Baking Mix on many of the recipes sites.

  • Fantastic they look great!

I wonder if you can thin them down and use them for wraps etc. leave out the sweetener.

    P.S. You look great!

  • We have a thinner recipe with just eggs and cream cheese (and cream?) that we use for making crepes. It's a little too light to wrap a bunch of stuff in. For that there is also another low carb tortilla recipe recipe that is floating around the forums.

  • can you tell me the brand name you use for peanut butter since all i can find has sugar. What is :wonder: and where can I but low card items in grocery store

  • I haven't bought peanut butter in awhile, but just look for anything "natural" that the oil separates. Almost everyone of them is without sugar -- Smuckers Natural used to be the brand I bought.

I normally don't buy a whole lot of "low carb" items. More of them are organic or just better versions of normal products found by other stuff.

  • It's creamier if you don't use the mixer, but slowly mix the ingredients, cause you won't get that much air into the filling.

Soy ist substandard, shouldn't use it ever. Whey won't work, it usually get's too liquid. Use Casein oder mixed multiple component porteins.

  • What is soy protein icelet? never heard of icelets before

  • It's isolate. It's where they isolate or separate the protein as much as possible from the rest of the product.

  • Oh, gotcha. Thanks for clarifying.

  • That looks delicious and I LOVE your mixer!!!

  • where would I find atkins bake mix, I can't find anything atkins in my town only the milkshakes and bars. Do health food stores carry stuff like this?

  • I think Atkins Baking Mix went the way of the dodo, You may need to google the alternative or make it yourself recipe for the Baking Mix.

  • are the nutrition numbers for the whole recipe, or is it per serving?

  • Per serving (I believe the serving is 2 pancakes).

  • When I make the pancakes with the bake mix, they taste soggy. I've tried panning the wetness to the side of the pan (I use a small one) in order to cook some of the wetness out. However, the end product is still soggy. Any ideas for making these pancakes taste more firm and dry?

  • p.s. I use a small pan and fill its bottom.

  • I would make sure your pan is already medium-hot when pouring the batter, and potentially make your batter a little thinner so it spreads to cover the pan more easily. I really haven't had the problem -- it comes out fine each time.

  • High fat high protein low carb is brilliant .

  • can I use carbquick for deep fried sea kittens?

  • Sure you can bread fish with it...

  • First stop spamming my videos with the same message in multiple videos.

As for your claims that Atkins is bad for you, my last 5 years have proved that utter nonsense. My health has only gotten phenomenally better by any measure. If you are serious about health, you would recognize the desirable nature of eating enough fat and protein to fuel yourself and not limiting your consumption of animal products.

  • Its so funny how people are quick to throw in the china study. Its also funny how low carbers know more about the china study than anyone else. My opinion just dont respond back to these people just let them live their highly inflamed lives. One question though. What do you think about Truvia?

  • Truvia is ok. I just wish they hadn't bulked it so much with erythitol and added to the carb count.

  • Go get em.

  • That's a great reason to eat low carb. If you like these videos, I hope to have a new low carb recipe video up this weekend with my new HD camera. I hope you like it.

  • MMM looks good..I'll try it for breakfast tomorrow. I have type 2 diabetes and trying to beat it. Most of my fiber comes from leafy green veggies. I found that boosting up my protein and fiber -- my sugar levels have been close to normal. My doctor even reduced my meds :)

High fiber...high protein and edamomi dip rules. I can't exercise due to arthritis but even that will leave when all the weight is off - I really believe that. Thanks for the nice video.

  • i'm really suprised that your muscles still work on this diet, considering the recommended intake of carbs is about 1-1.5 grams per pound of body weight. well if it works and you don't feel weak or dehydrated i suppose it's ok.

  • Yep, it's amazing how well your body runs on fat for fuel. I work out and lift 3-4 days a week, and train for and run 2 marathons and 4 half marathons each year. Weak and dehydrated is the last thing I feel.

  • So does it taste like a real pancake?

  • Yes, it does. The syrup is a little runnier than the full carb version, but the flavor is good.

  • I am on my second day on the Atkin's diet...Can I eat it? or should I wait until the couple weeks into it?

  • I mean can I eat it now? since I just started the diet or should I wait a couple weeks when I'm allowed eating a little bit more carbs? Thnxs for the quik reply

  • The Atkins Baking Mix isn't necessarily legal in week 1 or 2, but you could substitute almond flour in the first two weeks.

  • Hi, thanks a lot for your postings! This is my second time Atkins, first time lost 30lb and never got them back. So now fine tuning :). But I do have a question, protein isolate? Any idea where to purchase this item (Europe is like in the stone age concerning this issue)?

    Thanks a lot :)!

  • Hey, I just made these tonight for supper and they were great! It was a nice flavor switch from my traditional Almond flour ones...Thanks for sharing ;o)

  • I am glad you liked them. :-)

  • Great Recipe and Great Video I do have a different recipe that is a great quick lc pancake recipe

    1 scoop vanilla protein powder

    1 glug olive oil

    2 eggs

    1/2 tsp baking powder

add water while slowly mixing to batter consistancy.

    Cook

not as pretty as yours but quick and tasty.

I will try yours on a sunday morning though thanks and wtg on the weight loss

  • Just want to thank you for all the great recipes you've posted up. Keep them coming!!

  • I am glad you liked it. I should have another one coming up after my marathon this weekend, and my time is more free.

  • My Favorite Low Carb Recipe is-

A modified Bowulf's Mock Danish Recipe, start with mock danish recipe then add about 10 frozen blueberries. Nuke for 2 minutes 30 seconds. Top with butter and sugar free smuckers blackberry jam. Enjoy as you lose weight. Truly awesome and no bitter soy flour flavor. Add some bacon and sausage on the side and it's better then going out after church. Trust me people...give it a go. Not light and fluffy, but not heavy either. NO Carb Nap Needed!

  • cream cheese & whole eggs, sounds like a death recipe.

  • It actually is a healthy recipe filled with natural ingredients unlike most pancade recipes. I can't imagine stuffing myself with old insulin spike causing pancakes ever again. My heart couldn't happier for me having started it.

  • I am in my fourth week right now and those look really good. How important is the mixer? Do you have any suggestions to pick one out? So far I have lost 18lbs and one belt size... I am extremely happy with this so far... There were a few things I started to eat that I was unaware of the carb count. So now I have started planning with a carb count sheet.

  • Congrats on your weight loss!

You could cream the cream cheese with a hand mixer or by hand (and get exercise too), but it will be a bit tougher. It certainly could be done though.

As for picking out a stand mixer, Amazon normally has great deals on refurb Kitchen Aid mixers. Normally half what you would pay in the store.

I am glad you liked the recipe.

  • Pancakes !!! Great !!!

  • And healthy ones at that! I really need to get that Pancake Syrup from DaVinci again. I get a little paranoid about the sorbitol, but the syrup isn't as bad as some.

  • Hey there, noticed you mentioned sorbitol- which is also in sugar free chewing gum. I've been eating chewing gum whilst being on the induction phase, does this stall weightloss?

  • Any artificial sweetener can cause stalls, but some are more likely than others. Some sugar alcohols, like malitol, are nearly the same sugar at 75% GI of sugar. So as with anything else, your mileage may vary. You can try it and see if your weightloss is not as fast as you would like. If it isn't, stop for a 3-4 weeks, and see if it gets more consistent.

  • Thanks for the feedback ! You are awesome! I am trying to stay on the Induction part of the plan because I still have 20 more pounds to lose..I do eat 1/4 c of fruit or nuts a couple of times a week..but I think that may be slowing down my weight loss alot. I keep going up or down by 2 pounds for like a month. That may be the exercise building muscle..I came down 1/2 inch all around and a full inch off my neck..So, I'm going to keep going !!!! Thanks for all the great ideas.

  • Keep focusing on the inches lost. You know people lose weight on the OWL phase as well. Don't get too comfortable or in a rut, and then eventually feel deprived. It sounds like you are on the right track having added fruits (5-10g probably) and nuts.

Just be cautious with portions sizes. I just recently had to give up nuts for awhile as my portion sizes weren't staying under control.

  • Great advice. Remember that last 20 pounds should be slower so you have enough time to practice for maintenance. I'm on OWL and lose an average of 6 pounds a month but those are smoothed averages. Some months when I lost the most inches and had clothes falling off of me were in actuality 2 pound lose months but the smoothed average showed the truth behind the lost inches. Just watch your clothes and keep on moving up that ladder.

  • Have you ever used Stevia as a natural sweetner? It comes in liquid form mostly..but can be bought in individual packets as well. Try your local Whole Foods or any health store. It's what my mom uses..as she is diabetic.

  • I have tried it and wasn't happy with its herby, leafy flavor. It might have just been the brand I selected, but it wasn't good. I have however tried the new Truvia brand of sweetener which is made from the same plant. That is much better!

  • This looks yummy!!!!

  • yeah im on atkins diet too right now.. ive lost 30 pounds so far since august 1st :)

haha ahhhh i want some type of bread or cake type food soooo bad.

  • Congrats on your weight loss.

  • Low-carb almond flour pancakes... These are great!

    - 1 cup almond flour

    - 2 eggs

    - 1/4 cup water

    - 2 tbsp oil

    - 1/4 tsp salt

    - 1 tsp baking powder

    - 1 tbsp low-carb sweetener

Cook them in the usual fashion. This makes three large pancakes or six smaller ones. Just know that they won't bubble on top in the pan like "regular" pancakes do.

  • Thanks Brian for sharing another low carb pancake recipe. Congrats on being down another pound!

  • Looks pretty good, Kent! GREAT JOB!!!

  • Thanks for watching as always, Jimmy!

  • They look so delicious & they came out so flffy too!

  • That was what I so impressed with -- others I had tried were so heavy or didn't have the same texture as pancakes -- either too runny like crepes or were more like biscuits.

  • how about that liquid splenda did you make that or buy it? Your pancakes looks so yummy!

  • I bought it off Ebay. If you don't feel comfortable buying from Ebay, you can also google sweetzfree. Look for the liquid Splenda that is one drop equal to 1.5 tsp of granulated sweetener.

  • Cheers Kent, Looks delish :oP Also tuning in, to make sure your doing your sit ups ;o) muhahaha!

  • Thanks for watching, and yes I have gotten my AbRipperX in 2 days ago and already planning it tonight. In fact I went over above the last times and StretchX as well. So there!

  • Great to see you posting recipe videos again! Have you looked into Carbalose flour? I find it much better than Almond flour. Here is my pancake recipe ... I can't tell the difference between this and real pancakes (I can tell with Almond flour which is why I stopped using it):

    2 cups Carbalose flour

    2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

    1/2 teaspoon salt

    1 egg, slightly beaten

    1/2 cup heavy cream

    2 tablespoons melted butter

    water to batter consistancy

  • I have used the Carbquik, which is made from it, but not the flour itself. Have you tried both -- are there times were you would use one and not the other? I would presume so as the Carbquik includes the baking powder, salt, etc. in probably the wrong amounts.

  • I have tried both ... I prefer the carbalose flour by itself (not just because it's cheaper too, lol). I think it gives me more control over the recipe. Carbquick has things added to it like egg white powder and buttermilk powder etc that effects the taste profile. I really prefer the texture of the pancakes when I use whole eggs and keep the buttermilk out. For things like fried chicken and pizza dough, the carbquick doesn't seem to hold up well (maybe because of the egg white/buttermilk)

  • When my current batch runs out, I will have to try the flour instead. Cheaper always helps too. :-)

  • YUMMY~ they look great! I tried the almond flour pancakes they were very good. I ordered the almond flour from nuts4u. They have all kinds of nut flours. Where do you get the Atkins baking mix?

    Love you videos!

    Patty

  • Unfortunately Atkins Baking Mix isn't sold any longer, but you can make your own. Here's a two sample recipes. KevinPA version: 1/2 cup carbquik 1/4 cup wheat protein isolate 5000 1 Tbs wheat protein isolate 8000 1/8 cup almond flour 1 Tbs resistant wheat starch 1 tsp Splenda Atkins Recipe: 2 cups soy flour or Wheat Protein Isolate 1/2 Tbsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 tsp soda 2 Tbsp shortening -- cut in 1" cubes
  • Excellent!

  • Almond flour would be a better choice if the baking mix has soy. I now have thyroid problems from the large amount of soy I ate.
