This or Grand Slam Tennis... I like VT career mode a lot better but I heard there is no progression in this one and you start off with developed skills. Is there online for wii or at least local multiplayer?

I think that GS TENNIS and Top spin 3 might be better not only because they obviously have better visuals also because hey work way better just with the wiimote and nunchuk, his title might be good but I go for the others

Funny thing is EA Grand Slam Tennis is pretty crap with the Wii motion plus adapter,but ok without it.

@ravrichard0 - I think most anyone you ask is going to say Virtual Tennis if you have Wii Motion Plus, but if you don't have Wii Motion Plus and have no intention of buying it (Even though it makes the game 100% Better) I'd go with Top Spin

the game seems to play better w/o motion+, it's like it was rushed and doesn't hit it where u want it too, surprisingly w/o it it works pretty well. i wish they would have added more players, it seems soo limited in choices, but i like how the game plays fast.

i really like grand slam tennis. but the motion plus is top sensitive. i dont like it. a bad buy in my opinion but the actual game is AWESOME!!! I LOVE IT!!!

I was in the same predicament yesterday, went for virtua tennis and am very happy with my decision. Graphics and gameplay very good, only thing is i havent noticed the difference between the motion plus and normal remote in it, although it could be that its my first day of playing it!!

I have it, but I don't really understand how to change the direction of the ball..

The graphics aren't great, but if you are playing you are focussing on the ball and the players, so it isn't that bad :)

Why is everyone focusing on the graphics of this game? Anyone that fell in love with the original VT on the Dreamcast know this game is 100% about GAMEPLAY. Hell, playing the original from 1999 is still a ton of fun.

I bought this game last night (from a 24 hour retail store didn't realize it wasn't supposed to be sold yet!) and the control is AMAZING...the Wii version IS the best. 360/PS3 may have better graphics, but the advanced controls make the Wii version untouchable.

man this game looks so bugish and so sci fi. the ball has like beams coming out of it and there is that bar that always comes up when u want to hit it. Graphics dont really matter on a wii Grand Slam Tennis looks so much better and more friendly to use and really feels more realistic.

(My opinon) I think when you try to make wii games with "realistic" graphics, and it doesnt match up to what people want it to be,

It ends up "these graphics are suckish",

like in VT2009,

GS didnt want that to happen and decide to go with the cartony style,

And i belive the details with cartony graphics

makes it easier to pull of gameplay and players expressions and movements,

The comparison was to a Dreamcast version of Virtua Tennis--I watched niether in HD and I must say the textures fared better on the DC. Not saying the game isn't going to be any fun (graphics don't make a game), but the graphics appear to be downgraded.

I am a HUGE FAN of Virtua Tennis on the Dreamcast, I still have a Dreamcast with 4 Controllers and play it more than most multiplayer games!

The game really looks like it's shaping up, but I agree with impurekind that the graphics look a bit rough. I know the Wii can't handle the same level of graphics as the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, but perhaps using some of the same lighting techniques seen in Red Steel or Super Mario Galaxy would help a bit; everything just seems a bit plain at the moment. The environment (anything outside of the actual playing court) doesn't need to be as detailed as it is: that's a waste of polygons.

Are you watching the HD version? The lower res video here doesn't show the real quality, have a look at the HD if not. I think it's looking pretty good, and for a full port of the PS3 version is going to be a pretty big sports title for the Wii
