this is not what made them nutty boys,it was classics like the prince ,bed and breakfast man and madness by madness,i think the POP got into their veins during the mid 80!s and ruined their originality, i mean chas smash with hair spray in his hair, 1979 and the skinheads would have lynched him lol
So poignant because they had peaked and were on their way out as this came out. I find it even more poiganant because my grandfather passed away the day after I heard this song for the first time. My grandfather was a wonderful man and I still miss him now. I can't watch this video without thinking of him.
The subtle humor throughout the video is absolutely awesome. This is one of the best madness songs, even with Barson not amongst them. It is a pity that it is nowhere to be found on any Madness compilation.
me and the boyfriend are life long fans...he dont know this yet but....i`m gonna buy us tickets to either york or epsom derby...i will ensure we both have raybans and pork pie hats...,,lol....i cant bloody wait!!!...we have neva seen em live!.xx....cant fooking wait!!.xxxx
After the sun and the rain they seemed to lose popularity almost overnight ,never had a top ten hit afterwards.Which is strange ,just listen how good this is.
@oradag Yes but it's considerably slower than their older and more popular songs, such as Bed and Breakfast Man, Our House, Baggy Trousers, Shut Up, Uncle Sam, Sun And The Rain, It's even slower than Michael Caine.
Almost all of Madness's most famous songs are faster paced, and actually I can see why. They have a certain energy in many of their faster songs that is just incredible.
the film is back to front right at the end where suggs picks up the globe and puts it in his mouth. Look at the wrting on the road. Great song as well!
what this aint madness its gay.

@JanEgbersNL It isn't on any newer compilations, yet was on an old one called Divine Madness, back in the 90s, before they reunited for Madstock!
