Great analysis. And I agree with @DainierG ! Same thing with Floyd. People call Rigo and Floyd "boring" but to people like me who are amateur fighters or boxing analysis, you can learn the most from them. Rigondeaux timing is almost perfect. In this fight, I saw Rigondeaux make ONE mistake. Right before Rigondeaux knocked Ramos down the first time, he got hit with a counter punch that staggered him. If he does that vs Donair, he COULD get knocked down. Great fight, nevertheless.
The only thing Rigo needs to develop is an educated jab, cuz he uses it simply as a range-finder. Once he does that, he will really become a force to be reckoned with. His body punches are ruthless.
Something tells me that Rigo and Donaire will not fight. I see Donaire moving up to 126 before he fights the likes of Rigo. He comes into the ring with a chip on his shoulder, and that's the type of fighter you want to avoid lol
@kiaba360 If he moves up to 126 he would even find more troubles with heavier and bigger fighters... 126 has lot of fighters, strongers & better sheen than Donaire.... Let's see when he faces Vasquez Jr. I've never seen Donaire fighting a guy his size. Don't get m wrong I think Donaire is a great well skilled fighter, but now he step up on his real division for me he's up to prove on 122 or 126 or whatever that he's really a true champ
@ThePytyty, from what I understand, Donaire has sparred with lightweights before and he's hurt them in sparring lol. He walks around 135-140 also. I hope Vasquez has added more to his game since the Arce fight, cuz if he fights like that again, he's gonna get damaged.
@kiaba360 I certainly believe Donaire will beat Vasquez Jr. I'm just anxious to see him fighting a guy similar height and reach. He previously got hurt by "El Nene" Sanchez and from my point of view he won due to 2 sucker punches that put the portorican in bad condition... after that as always just finished his job. Let's see his performance on Feb/4th and after.
Homz..I agree w/You 100%.. I never liked Ramos, reason being he never looked impressive..even against Shmoda he looked "lucky"..in that fight I kept saying "ok he'll pick it up here"..hence this fight he was shown for what he really is..as far as Doniare, that's a Bob Arum disaster which may not happen since Bob's not making real fights anymore..I'd love to see what would happen w/those 2 in a ring..looking fwd to seeing more "Rigo"..Good post homz!!
Who is Guillermo "EL CHACAL RIGONDEAUX" Cuban boxer who won the gold medal at the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympics in the Bantamweight (54 kg) class. Rigondeaux is a seven-time (2000–06) Cuban national champion at bantamweight.
Now the Champion of the word with only 9 fights
No way Arum is going to put Nonito with El Chacal.
people hate on rigondeaux cuz they dont understand boxing, they thinks its just throwing alot of punches ,but rigondeaux is the best boxer. he has an amazing left hand ,he is a illusive fighter people cant seem to connect punches with him and those that try get punished and put down by his body punches . he is in my opinion the best boxer in the sport and the most amazing to watch. when you watch him you know all it takes is for the opponent to throw a miss punch and its over he is that good.
great fight

After that first round I can tell it was going to be a tough fight. Nonito and Guillermo fight would indeed be a great fight.

No way Arun is going to let Nonito fight RIGONDEAUX. There is no competition between 118-126. He's the master of the ring.
No body is going to want to fight him now, anybody that get on the ring with him will looks bad.

@reuone Rigondeaux is with Top Rank too, I believe. Hopefully, that makes the fight a lot easier to happen.
