I was lead trumpet and i did the first solo at this competition! we had the best brass section! no one could beat us. Didn't think we would ever get to see these again. Thanks to the poster. The best times of our lives! we just didn't know it!
Oh my lord in heaven... I remember this show... Rainmaker, God Bless the Child, and Slaughter on 10th Avenue. Anyone have video of the Corvallis show from '85? It started raining during the climax of Rainmaker! So VERY cool. If I remember, we won EVERY award that show except Drum Major (which we deserved) and Dancers (which we didn't have). Not bad for followup to Nationals.
I was in this show as well, many great times and memories. I look at this show and compare it the one posted for 1980 with Mr. Green and I think..holy cow! We could have done that with more peeps and more practice.
Does anyone of video of 1983 shows? I really must be a geek, I still love it. What happened to Marching Bands?
I was the Drum Major in 1982 The 80s for u-Hi set the national standard I will never forget Whitewater Wis 1980 Garry Green your the best Frank T. Keep Strong
Would anyone know how to get a copy of this show? I have been wanting one for some time. I am sure that someone has transferred it onto DVD by now. Please let me know if I can get a copy. I know a couple of others that might be interested as well. Thanks!
Wow, what great memories! I was Drum Major along with Tracey Olds....this band was amazing and such fun. Great group of friends! Thanks whoever posted this!
Somebody who was in the band back in the 80's ought to come talk to our band now. I'm a U-High senior in the pit, and I know that many people out on the field aren't dedicated enough to make us that spectacular again. That show was so fantastic!!
That is AWESOME!! I am U-High band class of 1989 so I would have been there just a year later '86 I would have been a sophomore. I would know MANY people in this performance. So Cool! Is this before Dave Wakely? MAN I miss those days. I have video of the Witches of Eastwick show, would have been Fall '88 at the Auburn show where we NAILED the performance. My favorite band memory and I can still play that theme song to this day!
Thank you, it is nice to see this old show. I was on the snare line in this and don't have any videos of my own. You wouldn't happen to have anything frome Whitewater "83" would you? Thanks Again
wow im at University now and we are on a come back but this is simply amazing im trying to find 1983 as well but anyway thanks for letting me see how it was done
