  • simply brilliant

  • Wait... when they were in the kitchen did they just walk in a large circle?

  • I never got why they walked in a big circle though... Hey lets walk around this hot, smelly, busy kitchen before we get our food.

  • whats the song name?

  • @sharpeyeye The Crystals - Then He Kissed Me [cE_jOD2Fxvs]

  • This is the most amazing likes/disklikes ratio compared total views I have ever seen. 0 dislikes! Nice one!

  • @Indie9999 You jinxed it. Dick.

  • @bignasty389 Well, it makes me feel like I have achieved something I guess. (you twat).

  • must have been hard to edit this scene :P

  • @gogators432 pretty much, only slightly different they shot on film back then :P

  • @gogators432

    Lol

  • i think when he bumps into the metal table in the kitchen at 1:20 just proves hoes classic the movie is! little imperfections make it..... 10/10

  • Aw the good old days.. Crazy thing the club I was VIP at was name also copacabanas .. We called it copas.. So long Juarez .. We had fun nights .. But this drug war got to ugly.. The club got burn down

  • One of my favorite movie scenes. And LaLa Brooks, who sings this song, still looks and sounds great.

  • Has anyone else noticed that in the kitchen they just make a giant square and end up where they started?

  • Great scene from a perfect movie.

  • CLASSIC MOVIE SCENE!!! ONE OF MY FAVES!!!

  • awesome. marty knows what he is doing.

  • Thank you so much!

  • Grande Martin

  • The "flow" of the tablecloth at 2:00 is a nice touch. I don't know if it was planned, but it seems symbolic of the ease with which Henry floats into the Copa.

  • @pdanese Yes, it was. In an "oral story" in the posted in a GQ online edition, DP Michael Ballhaus says that it was an order given by Scorsese, because he saw something like that when he was a kid.

  • This was one of my all-time faves and then it was removed. Thanks for putting back!

  • I'll never forget watching this for the first time and thinking, half way through the kitchen, "Holy shit this is still going on."

  • Best steady cam shot ever

  • classic scence

  • Henry . . .this is from Mr. Tony over there . . . EPIC

  • I think it occurred sometimes, but we never see that

  • The kitchen workers arguing at 1:04, and the kitchen shot at 1:19 makes you forget this is a amovie, and sucks you in like if you were walking behind them.

  • 'if you notice they go when they go into the kitchen they use the same door out as they did in

  • i love their relationship its so hood

  • beautiful smooth shot just like Henry's life at that point in time everything is falling into place. Like somebody pointed out when he says he is a union delegate the drum sounds and the comedian is introduced, it is no coincidence his name is Penny Youngman thier is a connection between the two characters but not of the highest significance. Great Scene.

  • This is a masterpiece of a long shot because it doesn't seem show-offy, really seems to represent a reality rather than a staged event

  • the true masterpiece of this long take is that it completely establishes Henry's character as this young but somehow powerful wiseguy there are so many things we learn like his influence and the respect he commands from others. You can make long takes from pretty much anything but something like this that conveys so many things at once is truly incredible.

  • If anyone out there is really interested in this part of the movie I could honestly say .......it was trully amazing being a part of it I mean it was only as an extra but it was alot of fun"

  • It's the master shoot, it's a right name.

  • Lol just noticed how the drum beats like a joke has been told when he says "I'm a union delegate." Dunno if that was intentional but a nice touch nonetheless :P

  • what a scene what a film and hail the worlds greatest director

  • 1:23 ouch lol

  • haha I just got a great mental image. Image that this scene went effortlessly and perfect after so many takes and right as they finally sit down Ray Liotta pauses, looks at the camera and says "I forgot my lines."

  • It's a spiffy take to watch, but I'm pretty sure being an extra for this scene sucked.

  • @GSNRecords I bet being the camera man was worse.

  • woow, i've watched goodfellas 100 times and every time this amazes me...

  • Dude I have the Warner Brothers Gangster collection on its wayy from Amazon right now. Its got White Heat, The Public Enemy, Angels with Dirty Faces, and Little Caesar. After I see all though I plan on picking up Scarface (1932). Is De Palma's "Scarface" even fit to have the same title. I mean come on I looovve Pacino but seriously that movie doesnt move at all.

  • Charlie you are my hero for putting this up. Goodfellas!!

  • It's such an incredible shot. I show it to my students every semester.

By the way, have you seen the original Scarface? It's amazing.
