It's a "good deal" for ONCOR; a screw-job for the customer. How is paying $300 extra over 10-12 years a "savings" for me? A new meter doesn't alter my electric power usage, but I'm still out the $300. The old meters work fine, and would probably continue to work fine for another 20-50 years.
