i was expecting him to be like "obama of coarse" but this guys is smart as hell, very open-minded. no offence but most blacks voted for obama because he was black... but what would you expect, first black man running 4 president and their not gonna vote for him? get the fuck out...
I like his name. THat is a real african name!=pride!
Not this fake pride shit like Moesha and Tawanna some shit name that was made up in the USA. If you want real african pride then use a rela african name.
Praise God. At least one Rapper/Emcee that can articulate what he has to say without "overdoing it". It gets REAL OLD with 'you know what I'm sayin' 'you know what I'm sayin'. Yeah dammit, I know what your saying now lets get to the next thought.
Talib is a smart dude, I already knew that but to see his intelligence manifest itself here is excellent. Oprah and Larry King should bring him on to represent.
I understand what your'e saying Talib. I dont vote either. Both candidates getting half is a choice that the government made and not mine. However voting is my choice and giving the lesser of two hypocrites power over the people will not be on my hands if I can control that. You think America has agood system then why are we in a financial crisis while people are dying overseas killing poor people?
I am not happy and I am not displeased. I am not easily misguided by them putting a black face and beautiful speech onto the person that represents this country. I know our government would not allow themselves to lose control and allow one man to come up into the system and foil all of their plans that they have been working so hard at. No; its intelligent for them to pick an intelligent well spoken black man to please the people while they continue. He is the total opposite of bush...
for a reason.Bush was our president and stuck to the agenda. When the government made all of these crazy mistakes then his time was up. When he left, people believed the problems left with him and the man they put in after him looked totally different and promised change. Our government is going to continue to persue their interests and Obama is the government, so is hillary, so is bush etc. Most of the American people are easily misled in matters of politics and religion.
yea son you know what's really happening out there. But it so hard for the brothas to get beyond just that black face, it's cool to see a non white face but we have to move beyond that. Our culture has and will always have to show more integrity.
he's talkin about "fuck they time" then the last thing he says is sometimes you put other peoples needs before your needs.... he was just talkin about how dave told him to do you and say fuck them... then he says sometimes you but other peoples needs before your needs..
did u hear what he said? 'pay attention you gotta listen to hear' he said voting isnt all that its about, there are a ton of other ways to help the community. and supporting a system that has failed and isnt really for the people doesnt help anything
There's if a differance between hearing what someone's saying and agreeing with it. Not voting is even worse than voting for the "lesser of two evils". Because by not voting you're giveing half your vote to Barack and half to McCaine. If you think the system has "failed" you, than why are you supporting both leading candidates by not voting, instead of supporting someone independent that you can agree with on most issues.
okay but not agreeing with someone and calling them ignorant are 2 different things. talib clearly isnt ignorant about politics he just chooses to not support the system
okay man you keep ur faith in that system and come visit a neighborhood like where kweli from or like where im from and you tell me how that system is working
I live in a poor neighborhood too! And I don't think America's system perfect, I'd like government to be a lot more decentralized. But America still has one of the best systems of the world. The poor neighborhoods we live in are actually amonge the richest in the world, most people of the world live in much worse tyranny and poverty, imagine having to worry about clean water to drink. I support voting because I support democracy. Not voting leads us in the opposite direction.

That's a much better way of getting your way and to protest against the leading candidates.
Of course there's other things you can do too but I don't see what that has to do with it?

okay but not agreeing with someone and calling them ignorant are 2 different things. talib clearly isnt ignorant about politics he just chooses to not support the system

to me that's ignorant because it's the unheard that will be harmed by not voting.

and you can't build your whole career on complain about politics if you don't take your opportunity to make a change.
