  • good call on incubus sukubus.....i have quite a fw songs downloaded by them. I totally agree that real music lovers can look past the beliefs or message if they choose to, in order to appreciate the music.

  • Oh, don't forget Plumb :D I'm pagan, and still listening to it.

It's like, when you have crush on somebody, and listen to radio, every song for you tells about him/her. And I'm sure the original meanings of the all of those songs are not that your exact person, but for you it is and .. Yeah, I get what you mean when you say it's all about emotions.

  • Krissie, you're very good looking.

  • not every band that says they are christians are christian. 12 stones is not christian. even the group stryper is slowly falling from the faith as you can tell on there new cd,

you want a really good christian cd. check out brian(head)welch. ex guitarest of korn. he really did recieve jesus. his new cd is great, copy and paste these into YouTube ,

  • @dcarterfrom07 your a christian??? good for you!! take every ounce of equal beliefs in your mind and throw it in the toilet! embrace homophobia and say that your proud that YOUR ancestors wrongly killed many people who happened to not be christian. be proud that you are decended from people who supported taking babies and children away from parents and the only response those parent got was "you're to blame." congradulations, you got an offensive response to an offensive repsonse.

  • @dcarterfrom07 sorry if im deslexic!

  • @RedDragon033195 dont believe what you see on tv... find your own answers....God bless you man and good luck with your life.... you will be alrite if you read the Bible and pray to God for wisdom, He promises that He will grant abundant wisdom and understanding to those who simply ask for it.... what do you have to lose?

  • @dcarterfrom07 well thank you for retaining the offensive statements. i tried the christian route, and i learned a lot from it, however my spiritual needs became too great for christianity to satisfy. heres my story: at first i considered buddhism, islam, and unitarian universalist. i took all the beleifs i liked from them (reincarnation, world peace, and all paths lead to the same place) and i found wicca. if you study you will find wicca is more compatiple with christianity than you expect :)

  • Evanescence was actually originally on a Christian Label. I met their manager.

But yeah, they ditched him so I wouldn`t say that means much.

There are a lot of Christian themes in their early stuff, but if you really listen to it, it`s less about how much they love God and more about the doubts and questions they (some members) were having. In fact it strongly resonated with me and my experience of coming to doubt Christianty. ANyway, I`m gonna check out Sucubus Incubus now, thnx for the vid!

  • Yea, it's surprising which groups might be Christian:

    watch?v=7J54s1FSwLU

  • Psalm 34:14

*Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.

  • I think that this shows humility as well. Most people who are not Christians that I encounter tend to be emotionally charged against Christianity, but you seem very fair and respectful. I appreciate it!

  • um i think Flyleaf is still christian... if im wrong let me know...

  • Is that ''Shattered'' in the background? You're right; Trading Yesterday is an AWESOME band.Other great Christian groups: Superchick, Fireflight, Plumb, DC Talk. I LOVE that song. Inkubus Sukkubus is awesome too; I love ''Vampyre Erotica''. I'd also reccomend the Chalice and the Blade, Shawna Carol, Loreena McKenitt, Spiral Dance.I'm athiest; I listen to Christian and Wiccan rock. I judge music on how well it's written and how well it's performed, even if I don't agree with its meaning.

  • I am Christian, and there are some Christian singers as well as bands I don't care for. As the words behind the music do not reflect my beliefs. I am very careful of what I watch, listen to or read. Not because I am offended but because I am to focus on the blessings from God, not the darkness in this world we are in. The music here on earth is just a small taste for the Christian of what heaven will be like. So the background is music just that to me.

  • From a fellow Wiccan, let me recommend another awesome Christian band - Skillet. They rock HARD!

  • yeah, I actually like a lot a christian music, but everytime I wear a Tshirt w/ flyleaf lyrics or a cross somewhere on my body my (hardcore christian) sister points it out and says,"Well if your not a christian why are you wearing that/listen to their music?" It's very irritating...

  • keep your ear's open"

  • The band Triumph from the 1980s could be called a Christian band.

  • i love pillar too have u heard their song frontline? it's one of my favorites

  • i myself listen to skillet, and a few other christian bands. i LOVE stuff like P.O.D. and skillet, and metal, and stuf like extol. and regardless of all of this, i am still an agnostic. Pillar is an AWESOME band, the are nice guys as well. and dont forget to mention thousand foot krutch

  • Yes, Flyleaf is an amazing band and them being Christian, and making Christian music is not the reason to not like them. And I'm Wiccan...

  • I do like Petra, but I am a wiccan...

  • I listen to some Christian music, some Satanic or anti-Christian music, and a lot of secular stuff. I love Christmas carols sung by choirs, and I love black metal. I rarely listen to songs for the content unless it's funny or amusing. I listen for the sound and to sing along.

I think lot of Christian music is niche market. They don't have the talent to compete with mainstream bands so they go where there's a smaller talent pool and people want to hear about Jesus.

  • our lady peace started off as a christian band, as for wiccans listening to christian music i'm really not surprised most witches dig Jesus,we may not practice christianity but we respect it.

  • our lady peace was never a christian band. They've actually been asked that question many times and say that their band name has nothing to do with religion. :) It comes from a poem.

  • Christians listening to Wiccan music!

Why not? They have already taken their holidays?

I personally will not listen to Wiccan music if it glorifies one of it's many gods or practices.

Im not a Christian yet, but I really do appreicate it.

  • @ytany84 christians took the wiccans sabboths...don't get it twisted

  • @TheHuck73 - Riight? Christians don't celebrate the Jewish Sabbaths let alone "sabboths". Get your facts straight!

  • Christian music is easier to get signed with, so a lot of bands will start off like that. Then they'll make enough money to make music they want to.

Down with Wiccans. I can understand open-mindedness, especially in music; however, I dislike hypocrisy which most organized religion seems to be filled to the brim with. Regardless of the fact we're all hypocritical by nature. Imperfect if you will.

    If you're 555, then I'm 666.

  • It really ticks me off when people try to draw a line in the sand. Ok, I wear tennis shoes, but I don't play tennis... am I going to Hell? LOL! Even though I am a Wiccan, I am still intrigued about other religions and still study them. I still can't believe that the retreat to Mecca involves sacrificing a Lamb, and we are deemed as being evil? There is a lot of great music out there, to close a door to it just because it's Christian is in my opinion a sign of ignorance. Thanks for this post!

  • this is really nice it's a great way to bring people together w/out hate even if only for a few minutes

  • wow lay off the preaching and verse prompts..she made this vid about music..not about faith vs faiths..dam some ppl.like drug pushers,,back of ma sister !:) BB

  • do only Christians listen to Christian Rock? you say no. and your absolutely correct. do only Christians understand the natural effect and meaning? yes. until one comes to the undestanding and knowledge of what Christ did for us. but Music is a language for anyone.

  • Its nice that you enjoy the emotion and feeling of Christian music but unless you accept the Lord and savior Jesus Christ you'll never understand the true emotion and feeling behind the music. Christian music is all for the message, the reason we pour out our heart and soul into the music we write and sing is because of our LOVE and faith in the lord. If you have any questions and would like to contact me DO SO ANY TIME!! ~Jacob~

  • Great songs are not made by emotions, great songs are made from the reality of the composers life and faith.

  • dannysuru. i will pray for you. when i let the Lord in my heart. that was the greatest decision i EVER made and ever will make

  • I am starting my wiccan path, but one of my favorite albums is Waking the Fallen(old Avenged Sevenfold-Christian name) Basically all christian songs. Wouldn't call them christian band, they just don't strike me, definately not christian rock, but hard rock/metal with christian themes. Music really is a universal language.

  • careful listening to christian music

The Holy Spirit might touch your heart and turn you to Jesus. Then if that happened you will be 'right' with God.Then you will no that your saved.and worse you will start living for Christ

  • God is almighty and no one will get anywhere whithout him he is creator and lord of all lord's he is a blessing, and loving,God and can do great things you can do all things through Christ! John 3:16 For God so LOVED the world that he gave his ONLY begotton son that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have EVERLASTING LIFE!!!!!

  • I really liked this video. Its funny that I watched it, because about 20 minutes before, I was checking out this awesome alternative/christian band called Alive Untitled. So the singers a little tone deaf, but how many good christian scream bands can you find? I sort of hope that christian music doesn't become mainstream, simply for the fact that most mainstream music becomes meaningless as time goes on.

    side bar question:

Since you're wiccan, does that mean you don't believe in god?

  • To: AshleyNReed

No, wiccans do believe in God. We just believe in a God and a Goddess.

  • What is Wiccan

  • I agree, and disagree. I am a strong Christian. However, if their's no heart and soul put into the music, regardless whatever it is. Country, 90's rock, Gospel, Folk, Acoustic... you name it. If there is no meaning, and you're just sloshing words to a sound to make a buck. Then you've totally missed the entire point as to WHY music is not only "universal language", but the moral, the reason, and especially the Truth behind the "emotion", or the actual scoring itself.

  • I'm Wiccan and I LOVE the band Superchick. I didn't know that other Wiccans listened to Chistian music, too.

  • dude speakin the truth i really respect that i love how people are not christian like me but they still speak the truth like aton lavey hes a full out satan servant but he tells his people that satan is a liar and hes a liar and ther is nothin but pain and suffin 4 ppl who worship satan and i just like to say thankx for tellin the truth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

  • There's a reason why Christian music is so passionate/emotional <3

  • exactly, i am the same way as you. I am wiccan, but i do like some christian music. i like a christian band called nineball. they don't even SOUND like a christian band, but it's really good.

  • I know what you mean, I love music by Skillet, I've been listening to them for months and only found out yesterday that they were a christian rock band. It has made sense of some of their lyrics though

  • I instantly recognized the song in the background

I am wiccan, like you, but mostly I listen to Christian music because I just really like it for the musical content.

If you havent, listen to Skillet and Capital Lights and Relient K.

They all have really good music, and they're easier to find than others.

Uh, go look up effect radio

They broadcast across the united states and they robably have a station in your area

And I listen to Inkubus Sukkubus

  • i USED to agree with what you said until i got saved. now if its not about jesus, i dont care for the crap.

  • There's a reason they put their emotions into it, it's not the same thing as rock. I'd like to see somone die for rock music. And simply because something "started out" as Christian music, who the hell cares because they are not any longer, so it's no longer applicable. And not listening to the words is missing the point of the song. Music is music, like clasical, but songs are songs, the point of probaly 90-95% is to listen to what the lyrics are saying.

  • If you are a Christian band, then you want everyone to know! Always! In everything you sing!

You can definitely be a band that sings some Christian songs or have some Christians.

    It's called country music.

And gospel is NOTHING like rap!!!

  • theres many genres of christian music..not country christian like you mentioned. GOSPEL music is all christian music silly~ whether its christian rock, hardcore christian, christian rap...whatever. gospel doesnt mean like church worship music

  • that's not what I'm saying.

I'm saying that a majority of country songs mention God, but that doesn't make them Christian songs.

  • if people don't know you are a christian band, you are not christian or you are not singing the gospel

  • I didn't understand everything you said but I wanted to comment on one thing. You say that Christian songs have that "emotion" in them. Well I believe that it is not emotion, it's anointment. God works miracles in different ways, and who knows?... Maybe he already started working in your life through Christian music.

  • You forgot two of my favorite Christian music groups: Point of Grace, and Casting Crowns!

  • im christian and I hardly ever listen to Chrstian, its more whats interesting to me. Usually I listen to electronica and melodic metal. i love all kinds of music, it just depends.

  • im christian and i listen to more secular music than i do christian music because alot of it sounds the same to me :/ now i found some good christian hard core music and thats pretty good stuffs! :D

  • Hmmm. are you serious. for you and anyothers who care listen with your eyes and not your ears and think with your heart and not your mind. Jesus ment for us all to get along not to fight i have walked with him when i got saved i learned that you get gifts and if you use those gift for evil makes you evil there is no use of gifts for evil in the wiccan belief. You should try you own belief before you try others.

  • what you just said made no sense whatsoever to me.

  • i dont agree with you mostly..i am a major christian and if you think listening to wiccen music...its not gonna help with your relationship with God..so you need to learn to be with him or against him and not say music is not gonna do anything if it has emotion ok..cause thats not what it is about...

it says fill our hearts with things that are right and get rid of our bad things in our heart in the bible so w/e i think you should delete this video

  • You of all people judge this video but you want to quote from the bible hypocrite judge not those who need to be judge lest you be judge your self.

  • I Bum Flyleaf =D, Also Creed And Underoath =D

  • As for cool Xtian grps try 3rd day kinda Skynard ish... and for a mellower celtic feel of Wiccan All time greatest is Lerenna McKennit Fabulous voice and has an electric fiddle player she Lerenna plays Harp and Piano its in my blood tho

  • VERY COOLIO!!!

    ...Blessed Be =0)

  • look up Casting crowns

  • 2Co 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

2Co 6:15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

  • 2Co 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

2Co 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

2Co 6:18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

  • exactly couldnt have put it better im athist(i know thats not how u speel it but anyways) i listen 2 creed and christian bands....i listen 2 everything from techno 2 slipknot and even heavyer stuff then that....and if u want 2 check out my cover videos

  • i love the christian band stellar kart switchfoot casting crowns and many more i'm not a barlow girl fan but the song never alone by them is really good kutless has some pretty good music too

  • godsmack is wiccan music!

  • I love Inkubus Sukkubus too!

Heart of Lilith and Wytches are two of my favorite songs.

  • *LMAO* "We'll bill your credit card every month..."

Am I the only one who caught that?

    Brilliant =D

P.S. I like how you say "yesterday."

    P.P.S. Someone's extra cute today =)

  • Hell what matters is that the music is good, I mean if songs like material girl and so on..then why not something about defying evil and so on.

In the end is about the energy in the music, the enjoyment you can get out from it!

  • Another band that considers themselves a christian metal band that alot of people don't realize is As I Lay Dying.

2 other bands that I consider highly influential would be Living Sacrifice and Soul Embraced. And early Zao...not so much lately.

  • I think Amazing grace is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. And I'm Pagan.

I like to hear in music how a higher power moves a person and effects their lives. I don't like music that preaches to you. That goes for Pagan music as well.

  • Inkubus Sukkubus is awesome! I like some christian

music too. I'm not wiccan or christian. I just like

    everything. lol

  • I beleive all Gods are one, and can thusly be worshipped by the same phrase of "God". I am undecided about being a Christian, but I attend the Aquire the Fire Christian Rock Concert every year.

  • yes inkubus sukkubus is quite wonderful

  • ooooo i LOVE inkubas sukkubas *cant spell lol*

they are an England baised band wooohoooo i like in england so may go see them yay!!!

  • Good vlog. Good ideas.

  • I like some Christian music also--and I am a Wiccan. Well done video! 5 STARS.

  • Christian music is about worshipping God and dying to self. I don't know how you can listen to something that clearly contradicts your moral standpoint?

  • Did you watch the video? I explained in it how I can listen to Christian music and still be moved by the emotion.

  • Yep, I get that! But I'm not talking about emotions. I'm talking about moral beliefs.

  • To me, music = emotions. Regardless of where they come from, I feel the emotion put forth and how passionate people get.

  • That's interesting, as I hold a very different standpoint. To me, music and truth are deeply intertwined, and words are very powerful. Emotions are so fickle and change from one moment to the next, unless they fall into line with my Truth I don't give them any power or influence.

  • Interesting... Emotions can definitely have an impulsive connotation, but passion can't be faked; neither can faith. But to me, either one can move me emotionally, and that is why I enjoy all types of music. :)

  • And BTW, Pillar is the BEST. I saw them in concert two years ago.

  • i think it depends on how it goes. like inspiration from God etc. is great, i mean inspiration comes from many places, but some of their lyrics are quite weak and (i'm not sure if this is true) but they get a lot of people to listen purely because of the theme not them music

  • The womens GREAT ability to talk :)

    I like your voice Krissie!

  • I bet there are Christians who listen to 'satanic' music (Heavy Metal :-)))

  • what is really funny is christian death metal...LOL

  • you bring up alot of good points loved the vid i feel the same way i am wicca like u but sometimes i well listen to chirstains music

    blessed be

  • what is the backround

  • Love Song Requiem - Trading Yesterday :)

  • I found your videos after seeing your naked vlog, I subscribed shortly after. As far as Christians go, I am very open-minded. One thing I respect more than anything else in people is open-mindedness. It's refreshing to see people on YouTube who are both opinionated but open-minded. To be able to experience a song, book or piece of artwork separate from the origins of it's creation and find an appreciation for it is a rare gift. Keep using it, and keep making videos!

  • Some Christian bands are great!

  • I really appreciate your thoughts on this topic Krissie. I admit that when it comes to Christian/Gospel music that I really prefer more of the traditional Christian songs.

But no one can deny the universal appeal and appreciation of anthems such as I Can Only Imagine, Shout to the Lord, and many others. I find that Christian music touches the heart.

Many secular songs speak to me as well.

I am blessed that you enjoy some Christian music. I promise to check out the Wiccan group you suggest

  • Nice Video Earth Sista. Thank you so much, your insight with music outmatches my own.

    Blessed Be

  • Hello Hon, I like all kinds of music so that is me all over, lots of hugs kisses love Gizmo xox

  • I consider myself a Wiccan too and I just went to a Christian retreat this weekend and got a lot of Christian music recommendations and even a CD. And I had mixed feelings about it. How ironic is it that you do a video about it? It almost feels like you did it for me...

That's Amazing! As always, I luv you Krissie!

    Genevieve

  • So i went and checked out the bands...

    OMG THEY ROCK.

  • There are a lot of good christian bands, but personally I know one who is getting quite huge (wont name names) and since they have gotten big, I noticed that their emotion is less and it is turning into a popularity thing. I think christian bands are getting to be a dime a dozen. They are everywhere. A few people from a church choir of 50 billion churches decide to start a band. Now we have a cazillion of them. YOu are right tho, some are good. NOt many.

  • As much as I try to sway away from Christianity I have to say some of there music is quite amazing.

Evanescence used to be my favriote band, I'm pretty sure I have all of there songs. I think i have 67 lol, there are probably more tho.

I love ur open mindness to topics, its nice seeing someone analyse and accept rather then critise and reject.

    love you beautiful!

  • it gets cut off! repost the whole thing please? anyway y just felt...deprived! and i guess i realized this goes to show that i enjoy your videos alot. so yeah... peace.

  • Just started watching your vids after seeing you posting a response to PaulsEgo. I definitely differ with you on quite a few different views you have, but I respect the way you use your brain to argue your point. Look forward to seeing more from you.

P.S. 99% of Christian rock sucks butts.

  • Maybe I should clarify my point. Christian music doesn't suck because of the message or lyrics, it just seems to be all shitty save a select few bands ("As I Lay Dying", "Maylene and the Sons of Disaster", "Norma Jean"). Weird that all the decent Christian rock bands are metal?

Anyway, you mentioned "Creed" as an example of a good popular Christian band. BLECH...Even God hates Creed.

  • Great video, I totally agree. Switchfoot and Flyleaf are among my faves. =D

  • Preach it, sistah!

  • hmmm, i like all types of music, except rap if you would call it as such, but yeah, i like all types of music, even back to Beethoven....Moonlight Sonata is epic.

  • As weird as this sounds, I want Moonlight Sonata at my wedding. It's my favorite classical piece.

  • Flyleaf not only started out as a christian band, but they are still a christian band...All Around Me is about God...along with most of their other songs are...people don't know that, yet they play it on all the hit stations...lol...if only they knew. :) :)

  • How is that song "All Around Me" about God? In it she sings "I can feel you all around me thickening the air I'm breathing." If air gets thickened it means you can't breath. It seems like this song is about a relationship with someone the singer knows is bad for her.

  • Just checked out Inkubus Sukkubus, some were decent. But there was a a couple in particular, that were AWESOME! I can't remember the name of the chant one, but the other was "Wytches". I hope they have a "Greatest Hits" cd, because it will find its way into my collection soon. Thanks for the intro to the genre!

  • Wytches is one of my faves by them, I told ya they're awesome! :)

  • I Agree totally.

How do you spell the names of the Wiccan music artists that you recommended?

    You rock krissie!! :D

  • Inkubus Sukkubus is the Wiccan band, and Trading Yesterday is the Christian band I really really dig. They are both awesome, highly recommended! :)

  • dont you just love how she wiggles her eyebrows? makes me all warm and cuddily inside ^(*.*)^ lol...but seriously shes right. >.>

  • There's a new mainstream band that's christian called RED, and they're badass. Didn't know they were christian until after I had been listening to one of their songs over and over on repeat, but I still like them. When I used to go to church this band called Yancy did a concert and I still like their songs.

  • im an atheist and i like Flyleaf.

  • Couldn't have said it better myself. Music speaks to the individual, regardless of its genre. Back in the day I listened to the "Christian" bands Stryper and Barren Cross, and didn't even know they were "Christian" at first. My music preferences are very diverse. Right now in my car I have Mercy Me, Whodini's, Type O Negative, Eric B. & Rakim, and George Strait loaded in my cd player..lol I'm gonna check out the ones you mentioned as well. Great Vid As Always! Peace.

  • Well said...music is indeed the universal language. I will admit there are some music that are not to my taste but if I do give time to listen a song and i think "Oooh I love this song" then i do research as to who the artist is. In the end it is about the music not always about the people who did it.

  • i went to a christian concert it was the most boring day of my life.

  • Cool, there's nothing wrong with we wiccans listening to christian music. A few of my all time favorite songs I learned in church. I know... <3 u krissie

  • You should check out Tegan & Sara, their not wiccan or christian, but their music is phenomenal, their cute, canadian, twins, and lesbians! And, try looking into the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, once again, not wiccan or christian but phenomenal!

  • There are a few Christian bands I like (Flyleaf{even though they aren't anymore}, Red, Plumb), but I think in general I like the Christian songs that are transcendental. I can take my interpretation of these songs and get personal spiritual meaning from them.

If you haven't, you should check out Wendy Rule. Awesome Pagan artist.

  • P.O.D. was a christian band.

  • Yes, they actually toured with Mindrage (John LeCompt's original band) during TomFest which is a Christian festival :)
