  • MORE SALVATION ARMY SPEC.OPS

  • i love that gun! swiss rifles are amazing! very nice quality, high reliability and high accuracy! thats the swiss sg550 combined with the legendary m16! the best rifle all over the world <3

  • This guy reminds me of a waiter at my local Red Robin. Yummmmmm.

  • that dude makee me nervous

  • It's not a "CAR-BEAN" YOU FUCKING MORON!!!! It's a "carBINE"!!!!!

  • Bad, bad, bad shooter.

  • "Hi, I'm Harry Caray...would you rather get the mad cow disease or be the top scientist in your field?"

  • Like the "heavier" he was talking about. More rubust gun's are GENERALY hevier

  • this guy is a fuckin spaz.

  • Why is he so excited ??

  • im liberal and automatic weapons don't freak me out. unless they are pointed at me.

  • Sig 556, It has a safety too

  • and how easy is it to customize compared to an ar 15?

  • The only thing I don't like about this gun is that it kind of looks like a toy...

  • @strykarr and the rest of the guns in the world dont?

  • @measurecan There's a few pictures that make this particular one seem "toyish". But after more research, I've seen that it really doesn't look like that and I've even ended up buying a sig 556 classic swat since I posted that other comment

  • Comment removed

  • Dont ever ever ever argue on the internet coz it will never end LMAO

  • why doesnt the military take this they r looking 4 a new rifle and what is the reliability

  • @dopedpanda its a varient of the M4 combined with a sig 552 system not really wat the US military wants in there new spec u can see them at the GOV web page

  • @dopedpanda Because SIG weapons, as high quality as they are, is expensive weapons. Plus the US army are so high and mighty on american items, so they probably want something american if they are gonna change the rifle.

  • @DonQuixotec the sig 556 is made in the USA. E.NH

  • @DonQuixotec So that explains why the dont use G36s or XM8s.

But what about SCARs(Belgium) and HK416(Germany)

  • @Chucoishighoncoke Well, they actually do use SCAR in the US army, I don't remember what forces use them, not the regular marines, but some branch of their military use it. And I also know they bought some number of the HK416 too. Here in Norway the army has changed their primary weapon from HK AG-3 to HK416. I used it for a whole year, and it's great. And the HK416 is also cheap actually.

But again, the US military wants US made weapons, that's just how they are, stupid as it is....

  • @DonQuixotec i know they use those guns, but what i'm trying to say is why them if they aren't american made.

same goes for m9,mp5,and the m249

  • @Chucoishighoncoke First of all, the Beretta M9 or 92FS is american made, even though it came from Italy, USA makes them now, and M249 is an american version of the FN Minimi. Second of all, I am not saying they don't use SOME foreign guns, I am saying americans primarily wants american guns. So yeah they have SOME guns that aren't american made, but most of them are. And if they are gonna switch their primary firearm (the M4/M16), they probably will go for an american weapon.

  • this thing is softer shooting than a ar15

  • this dude needs to take a downer. This must be the highlight of his life to date. The Sig rep in the background is like, "oh...my...God... safety. Yes it has a safety."

  • Does it have full-auto capability?

  • @Clavsicus Any semi auto has that capability, but is it legal for non class III civilians, no it is not so it is semiauto only for the civilian market.

  • the same sound like in resident evil 5 ^^

  • Is there a "sound supressor" on sig 556 ?

  • recoil system must be in a buffer like an AR.

  • no its not becasue the other sig rifles have folding stocks so ...

  • gas piston separate from the bolt carrier. Seems like an SKS where an op rod strikes the bolt carrier that causes the bolt and bolt carrier to move backwards to reset the trigger, extract empty shell and reload a new round. I didnt see a recoilspring. Mustve missed it.

  • @comblock2Seen video of the SIG 556 being stripped and the op rod latches onto the bolt carrier. It is locked in place by the charging handle. Op rod never strikes the bolt carrier- no slap because it never loses contact with the carrier. Less torque in wrong directions. I've seen the Ruger SR 556, LWRC M6A4 etc., and PWS systems and how the op rod interfaces with the bolt carrier. They do slap a key on top of the carrier. Haven't seen Rock River Arms RRA PDS or HK MR556 yet. SIG impresses me.

  • no self-respecting man shoots a semi-auto rifle with a shit that gay.

  • nice hawaiian shirt

  • The recoil on this gun is minimal. Took it to the range last week, man it was a great, great shot - we had an acog on it and it was so accurate I couldn't believe it.

  • I am dissapointed in what I have seen. I was expecting more.

  • WOW! It looks like it has barely any recoil, maybe even less than the AR.

  • "wow its got a safety to" i feel real safe knowing this man has an automatic rifle

  • @williamED15 Its not an automatic rifle...

  • @SuperleggeraVW automatic can refer to semi auto to if ur stating commercial weapons its easier to say u have an automatic rifle cuzz people asume u mean semi auto in stead of bolt action if u you wanted to get technical u d have to go into i have a pump action of well is it forward pump or standard choke or if i have a bolt action is it pull bolt or locking

  • @williamED15 Automatic does not refer to semi automatic... I have never heard anyone talk like that. I don't see how it would make it easier, if you have a semi auto then people just say semi auto. Even that, most people don't say I have a semi auto, they just say what gun they own. I don't know why your getting into bolt action and all that, people wont confuse the two.

If you say you have an auto AK people will think its auto.... not semi.

You also freak out the liberals saying auto.

  • @SuperleggeraVW I guess you dude have a point i aplogize then I think the liberal comment is funny though

  • @williamED15 i mean do not dude

  • @SuperleggeraVW lol @ the liberal part

  • @SuperleggeraVW Komrad, your libs are right about the AK being an automatic assault rifle. Technically, if it's not automatic, then it's not an AK. A semiauto Kalashnikov carbine should be a SKK or Samozaryadnyi Karbin Kalashnikova (semiauto carbine of kalashnikov design). Spaciba.

  • @SuperleggeraVW i agree technically auto is full-auto, but in some instances people refer to a semi auto shotgun as an "auto shotgun" or a blowback operated handgun as an "auto pistol" but yeah you got it right

  • @crazybread1337 The "Auto" is likely short for "autoloading", not "automatic".

    Cheers

  • @SuperleggeraVW I disagree, REAL gun owners just say automatic becuase no one in their right mind would assume it's fully automatic.

  • @mikewalsh1987 Actually, as a REAL gun owner (and an NFA owner), if you said auto I'd assume it was a full auto.

  • @mikewalsh1987

Herp derp don't you feel dumb?

  • @SuperleggeraVW btw: sg556 can shoot semi, brust-fire and fully automatic ;)

  • @SuperleggeraVW The only time people called semi autos "automatics" are with handguns and people dont usually do it anymore.

  • Well the Sig P226 doesn't have a safety. Maybe he was use to that.

  • Well the Sig P226 doesn't have a safety; maybe he was use to that. LOL

  • @williamED15

Many experienced gun handlers forget to flip the saftey from "safe" to "fire". It wasn't ignorance, just a minor lapse that endangered noone.

Ever seen Top Shot? That Marine/cop chick on there lost the competition because she forgot to manipulate the safety/ It can happen to the best of us.

    No Harm, No Foul.

  • @AnAxetoGrind as its been pointed out i realize that but u think here is this famous gun reviewer and there ppl who take him real serious and no one thought to edit it out of the video segment?

  • @williamED15

Fair enough. However, if they were to edit it out, it woul be like pretending "experienced" people don't make mistakes. What if Babe Ruths strikes we're to be edited out? Or Dale Earhardt's crash we're edited out?

Think of it as a lesson in humility. Knowing that even 'experts' can make mistakes keep us from becoming *too* confident, therefore *careless*.

  • @AnAxetoGrind honestly its just a commet i m not saying to to be a jerk just made me giggle a bit to know it happen it s more like dancer slippin on stage u know they dont do it but its nice too know this expert does

  • @williamED15 Yeah, I know it was 3 months ago and you might be a little smarter, but if you aren't then let me explain that the man was using sarcasm. If your unfamiliar with sarcasm it's when you say something and mean another thing. In this case he says "..and it's got a saftey too.". He's not telling you that he's just figured out that the gun he's shooting has a saftey. No. What he is saying is that "hah, oops forgot to turn off the saftey."

  • @MisterMinnesota ok troll obviously i ve had a comment from like every person who disagrees with my comment let ME explain something other ppl heard it like i did and were not being insulting we just thought its funny but occasional someone has to come along and ruin our friendly joke by telling us how u heard it, if u got a prob post it and have ur friend thumb it up otherwise let us have our fun and bugger off

  • @williamED15 Oh yeah? Well I was joking too and now you had to go and ruin it.

  • @MisterMinnesota well sorry dude but im getting sick of post by ppl bout it i respect this guy and his reviews, just thought it was funny

  • @williamED15 He was just using self deprecating humor. He just purchased the weapon and was excited to actually shoot it. Have you ever forgotten that your safety was on? I have, as I remember, while qualifying with an M-16, which is AUTO, for Uncle Sam . He looks as if he is well qualified to own and shoot weapons. And this is not an automatic weapon. Again, he was just making a joke. You-Tube is getting to be a place where people want to vent inner emotional turmoil by bashing other people.

  • @leolacuda ok if but if you at the other people who came before you they ve also said that and im sorry that people find it hard to believe its just a joke i never really wanted the comment to get on the highest rated and it did so for you and everyone else who will ask "its just a joke" im not trolling just stating something that came to my head and made me laugh

  • @williamED15 I view these videos to find info. on weapons which I would otherwise never be able to experience. This saves me years of research, reading, and bothering gun shop owners. I'm sure there are hundreds of people like me who are trying to make decisions about which system to invest over $1,000 in so we search for these videos.Certainly we have to sift through a lot of garbage to find qualified people and this guy is qualified. It's serious business to me. Sorry if I'm I too serious.

  • @leolacuda no dude it ok if i was in your position i would be aggraveted too but to be honest i thought it was funny im sorry anyone missinterpets the joke, PS i was considering buying a sig556 my best suggestion for researching it is a podcast on itunes its just an average guy getting interviewed on his sig556 and it relays much more information then the video above

  • @williamED15 Thanks for that info. I have seen a lot more technical videos on the SIG 556 SWAT, very detailed stuff, but everything helps. They kind of fill in the gaps. I will check out your suggestion and I'm definitely going to buy at least one of these weapons- the SIG 556 SWAT(the older one that won the NRA magazine, " American Rifleman," Award for 2008, not the newer Classic) and possibly the SIG 556 Russian chambered for 7.62 x 39mm. Thanks again.

  • @leolacuda Own both the Sig556ER (whats in the video) and the 7.62 variant. cant go wrong with either one.

  • @williamED15 yeah he is going to track you down and shoot you...just because he has a rifle! ;)

  • WHOA! A SAFETY, TOO?!

  • supe que en chile van a fabricar unas de esas, para las FFAA. me parecio una buena arma, muy estable y el rebote es poco eso da precision en los disparos

  • is this gun a swiss made??

  • @glarnerkev yep...

    im a swiss.

    they build it in schaffhausen.

    thats near where i live.

    i switzerland evryone has a sig 556 i his room :-)

  • @MyMMC nice im from switzerland too--Zuerich

  • @MyMMC i'm from switzerland too.. Remember that the sig 556 (which is UGLY) ist the american version (bah) of the swiss sig 552 and 553. Btw swiss soldiers have sig 550, and not sig 551, 552 or 553 (exception: special forces)

  • @MyMMC then speak german im swiss :-)

    i have the sig 550...

    556 is uglie :-)

  • Haha, 3:45 eat a banana

  • of course its got a safty smart one

  • I think the bolt is based on the AK rotating bolt correct? overall, this rifle is probably one of the best buys on the market, accurate and very good quality. I will get a second 556 before I buy a SCAR or another AR platform.

  • @MurasakiGurl This gun is in our gun safe!!! haha ;)

  • WOW, didnt know that our swiss guns are so popular in america... and our goverment wants to stop importing guns to other countrys... those fucking bastards. But no problem here in switzerland we have a good democracy so we can still decide :P

  • @wessfall There made in America, and yes we are a Socialist country now.

  • @walthomas lol SIG guns are from switzerland...

  • @wessfall LOL yes they are but not the ones you can buy here in the US. They are made here ,18 Industrial Drive Exeter, New Hampshire. USA

  • I want one!!!

  • Yeah, A co-worker friend of mine's husband suggested a website that sell CA approved long guns.. and Behold, there's the 556.... and then they also sell CA legal SCAR, FN 2000 and Tommygun!! Can't wait for my Tax refund.

  • I am cheap, so I am going to get a sig 522 for as soon as I find one at local shop (or the extra cash - my job is a tag shaky right now...)

Another point, I don't know if a 556 is legal in California. -_-

  • @smlemk42 as far as i know they are only illegal in connecticut but not sure on that so you may wanna do some extra research

  • thanks for the info, going to get one next month...

  • Hahaha, Woah! Its got a safety too. lol

  • How much does that rifle retail for?

  • That bolt looks a lot like an AK's bolt.

  • Thats because it IS an AK bolt.

  • @Southern661

Now that I look at it, the bolt carrier looks a lot like the AK's as well. I'm guessing this rifle operates on the same principles.

  • @cauberallies

Its an AK that is easier to field strip, takes AR15 magazines, has a flat top receiver, and shoots sub MOA. It also has 1/7 twist barrels so it can stabalize the significantly more effective 75 grain 5.56mm ammo. Its chambered in both 5.56/.223 as said off their website.

  • @Southern661

    PART 1

Wow. I had no idea. I never really looked into the Sig 556 until now. I had always assumed it was just another one of the many AR derivatives re-packaged by another company with their own spin on it.

Judging by your description, it could very well be my ideal "tactical carbine" for lack of better words. I've always been an AK guy, and I've wondered why nobody has made a 5.56 AK that accepts STANAG mags, a REAL solution to the receiver cover interfering with the sight radius

  • @Southern661

    PART 2

and the ability to mount optics, the awkward ergonomics, the location of the safety/fire controls, the accuracy shortcomings, and the lack of a last round bolt hold open feature, while retaining the reliability and ease of operation and maintenance. The closest I've seen thus far is the Galil, but it still could stand to be improved.

I might just have to get me one of these here Sigs!

  • @cauberallies

Glad I could help. The only drawback that I've seen, in my opinion, is that you have to remove the charging handle to field strip. There is a lever on the bolt you press to remove it.

  • This guy is a dolt.

  • "Whoah! It's got a safety too!" haha

  • this old guy is crazy

AHHHHH IT HAS A SAFETY TOOOO....

NOW LETS SEE HOW IT WORKS AHHHHHH

  • @paintballman125 you didn't have to be an ass. i mean they are pretty similar being that their both piston driven. although the sig is long stroke and the ruger is short strkoe, you don't have to be a dick

  • i just rented this at the range. its the closest thing to the Ruger SR556 that they have which i plan to get so i gave it a shot. i put 120 rounds down and there is virtually no recoil which is very nice, but the plastic all over it makes it feel cheap. I was able to shoot this so fast if fooled the owner thinking it was a full auto and i got yelled at! oh yea the rail sights are the real joke flimsy little stick in the back and big ass chunk of folding metal in front. very bad design there.

  • yea crack ninja.... comparing apples to oranges... Cheap Sights? Plastic All over? yea where? go change your battery in your airsoft bud...

  • @Goff86 there is polymer on the foregrip, stock, and pistol grip. the rear sight is this cheap little stick (also polymer i believe) that folds down into the rail, and wouldn't even stay up... as for comparing the two systems i meant that I wanted to compare piston driven vs. DI. which the sig556 and sr556 are both piston driven... why does everyone have to refer to airsoft when talking shit. is that the most clever thing you people can come up with?

  • I don't know but I do my best to try to ignore them.

  • Is it a bad idea to run Sig 556 mags through an AR?..does the follower tilt?..do they seat properly?..do they cause jams?..are the Sig mags durable enough?

  • they are all the same man.... sig 556 was made to take ar15 mags... there's no diferent...

  • @Goff86 they are a little different in their operaring systems, but paintball man125 didn't have to be a dick about it.

  • yes lemme correct the ol statement i made operating system is different but made to accept sametime of magazines.

  • @Goff86 yup :)

  • really?..other ppl are saying sig mags are shit and to go with the proven p-mag.. ..idk..

  • well for the mag itself i dunno.... Trial and error are with all mags and guns. some guns like certain type of mags while others like only one certain type.... i've always had great results with c products 30 round mags but not the 20's. get stove pipes for some strange reason on 2 of my ar's.

  • yea..true

  • I own one. The heavy front end makes failure-drills a snap. The recoil on this carbine is a joke. I have a blowgun that kicks harder. with the 1-7 rate, you should really try to use heavy bullets. 55 gr. is about as low as you want to go.

  • A nice looking weapon , but looks a bit dirty for a piston type weapon. Even while shooting there was some crud blowing out of the ejection port. I have seen on another video where the hand guards was easy to break. When I last looked at one myself it's very evident that they are week plastic that would not hold up so good. The swat rails would be the way to go. Or some other type like that. Like he said it is a bit heavy on the front as well. So are some other rifles like the new Ruger SR 556.

  • so why is the sig better than your m4?

  • Do you think I could own this gun, in California?

  • I just purchase one and I can't wait to shoot this weekend. I went and pickup up 250 rounds of 223...... I let you guys know how it goes.

  • this is one of the best carabines ive shot in my life. im thinking of getting one in a few years. well if its under $3500.

  • he keeps comparing it to an AR when it's not even an AR. it's the buyer's personal preference actually. if you want a real AR then buy one from either Knight's Armament or Colt. if you want a SIG 550 then you'll have to settle for this toned down version.

  • your right. just about the only thing the sig and the ar have in common is that they can take the same mag. in fact the sig is more like the ak when comparing the bolt and the bolt carrier.

  • Comment removed

  • which means it is deathly reliable yet flexible with ARs

  • u see there the safety would've killed u in the live battlefield. if i were u i'll remember every weapon has a safety switch. and also were u scared to go fully automatic?

  • Sig 556 don't have full automatic. It's a civilian model.

  • i got a woodie watching this

  • that guy needs to cut back on his methamphetamine consumption.

  • But it looks so smooth.

  • Did you know that this guy works in the FBI? Not kidding

  • HAHA

  • this guy is annoying as fuck

id be no where near him with a gun in his hand

  • es chileno ?

  • and thats Rip Tayolers take on the sig 556!

    Wait... wheres the confetti?

  • so thats the basterd child of the ar15 and ak74 huh?

  • ill give you $250

  • What the fuck is a "Carbeen out there"?

  • CARBEEENS

  • "Ohh, its got a safety, too"

    No shit, sherlock. lol

I always thought this was a full-auto capable rifle D:

  • LOL. That was my exact thought.

  • this is a sweet gun i own one glad they made it where you can buy it now i want an xm8 so bad!

  • Does the takedown bolt stay attached to the lower, if so I find that beautiful. I don't know how many M16/M4 pins were lost in the sand in Iraq, but we always carried extras.

  • Yes, the takedown pin stays in the lower reciever. You get tired of loosing small military rifle parts in the grass or sand. SOME gun manufacturers are starting to figure that out.

  • glad i bought mine last year for $1299.00, can't believe how much they went up in price. alot of people must be buying them since the price has now gone up $500.00 more!

  • I love the KalashnakaStoner rifle. It must have taken ages for them to stuff that AK into the an AR. I hear the Swiss made ones are much higher quality. Although, everyone I speak to, steps away from the gun when they see that little strip of steel holding the bolt carrier to the piston. Has anyone had any problems with that charging handle?

  • I've never had a problem with the charging handle. It may appear thin, but the steel of the handle is exceptionally hard. You won't bend that handle even with rough use, which is great if you have to force a dented cartridge into battery in a dirty gun in time of need.

  • It is like $2000 for that AR variant.

  • Are SIG rifles reliable for a NATO rifle?

  • Yes, they are extremly reliable and well made, the only problem - they cost a lot more than other rifles.

  • Ha I live in Swissyland, so price doesn`t really matter xD

  • I dunno, my local gunshop has 2 on the shelves for $1500 each and they both come with mounted ACOG style scopes. More than a basic stripped down AR or AK but still less than most 308 semis

  • Yes, it is expensive, but I shelled out the money after examining that extra tough gas operating system combined with a Kalashnikov bolt design. This gun is made for TOUGH use. I was very impressed, and even more after I started shooting mine. The accuracy is great for a carbine, although when the barrel heated up, I got a few stringers. Still, if you want a super light pencil barrel, you have to sacrifice a little bit.

  • im very impressed with this weapon. also the ruger sr556 is impressive as well. however, im going nuts over the sig. you seem to know alot about this gun, i have a ccw permit and want to purchase the pistol variant....love the red dot optical sight on it....in ur opinion what do you think would be best

  • I'm not a fan of rifle-to-pistol conversions. They all seem to be larger and more cumbersome than just getting a REAL pistol. You can't hit things accurately either, and using a shoulder stock improves them considerably. So why use them? Use a rifle.

  • yea your definitely right. my local gun dealer was persuading me to get the full size 556, however i live in an urban area so i wanted something small that have greater capabilities than a real pistol. also i was also going to purchase a 308 winchester....thanx bro for the info!

  • Why do all of these posts on gun videos always have to turn into a pissing match of who knows more about firearms?

  • Yes, you are right

  • I don't know but the only people who know most about firearms are the people who either use one every day or is in the military!!!!!

  • hilarious

  • god i wish the army would switch to a gas piston operated platform for there basic service rifle

  • Is it just me or does his double tapping sound like the begging to "harder better faster stronger" by daft punk

  • Comment removed

  • WOW!!! The recoil looks SO smooth for a 556......

  • This little carbine ROCKS. I love mine.
