There's no such thing as an exChristian. See 1 John 2:19. Gradual instruction will bring someone to the point of Salvation through faith and understanding (and God's Mercy!). Don't try to clean a fish before you catch him. It doesn't work!

There is a such thing as a Christian falling into sin and living carnally for a time, but they will not continue living carnally. They will eventually repent of their sin and get back on the straight and narrow. To say that a Christian can live carnally their entire life is speaking of something other than a Christian. What you're trying to advocate is contradicted in different parts of the Bible like where it speaks of flesh being flesh and spirit being spirit, etc.

You're still imposing the same unbiblical definition on the word "elect" from the Scriptures.
Ephesians 1 is partially to Jewish Christians, the "adoption/first trusted in Christ" in that passage pertains to the Jews(see Romans 9:4 and Romans 2:10). But either way, you're still imposing the "foundation of the world" to the wrong portion, God chose from the foundation that they would be holy and blameless, not that individuals were chosen--just as 1 Peter reiterates.

I think the deception is based on the denial of the trinity, surprisingly everyone that denies the trinity denies Christ deity. I've heard that Jesus was only a perfect man, that their are many saviors, that we can become like Yahweh Himself, the Holy Spirit is an angel, Jesus is an angel and all from supposed Christians. what i find is that there is a lot of emphasis on grace and belief and church, and less focus on loving and following Christ in day to day life. less emphasis on sacrifice, humility, weeding out sin, growing in Christ, confessing and being aware of one's sins, and putting the flesh to death, which we need. the hard sayings which are unpleasant, we need to hear these as much.

He is not almighty, he can not create a rock so big that he can't lift it without not being able to lift it. Yes it has, and then they look strangely at you when you speak out against it in favour for faithfulness. You are narrow minded they say, but I am only being faithful to my Lord. I am only trying to be loyal to the one that saved me, the concept of loyalty has been lost in these churches. It's like there is a fog before their eyes preventing the to see the obvious? I don't know, I only feel so disturbed, angry and frustrated.
This show though is surley a comfort.

It never did make sense to me why Jesus told us to love our enemies, but hate our own families. This video is absolutely right in pointing out the less lovely parts of christianity, which I came to understand to be important in the context of the nicer parts of the bible for showing the bigger picture. Not that it matters anymore, cos I'm much happier being the exchristian of 6 years that I am now :-)

There's no such thing as an exChristian. See 1 John 2:19. Christians are walking a very narrow path and in this world it's not always easy or happy, but we have peace and joy that doesn't come from this world. It only comes from Jesus and knowing that He saved us from the punishment we really deserve. I can rejoice in the assurance that I am His and where I'm going there will be no more tears, no more pain, no more suffering, no more crying. I pray the same for you. God bless you!

Too bad you didn't take the time to understand the scripture. "Hate," when understood in the CONTEXT of the scripture, means to have a "lesser love" for family (and even your own life,) than for Christ. (Luke 14:25-35) When someone comes to faith in Christ, it "can" cause discord if the rest are unbelievers. There's a cost to taking up the cross. Praying you find your way back! Bigger cost if you don't!

I agree with the fault of the mega churches and orthodox. My personal belief is they get so wrapped up on their "Trinity" concept that they are worshiping all 3. I call my self a "Biblical Unitarian". We are commaned to WORSHIP ONLY ONE GOD! We give honor and praise Jesus. Because he was an OBEDIENT man. It means so much more to me that God reserected not himself or another god. BUT HIS SON. A man. I give jesus a pedestal. But I do not worship him. ITS only through jesus we get to god.

The "true" gospel is the only GOSPEL. I hate watered down preaching. Tell me like it is. I believe that many people are seeking the true Gospel...however, not many preachers preach like this anymore. Televangelists have taken control of the airwaves...with this watered down/philosophical approach.

yeshua4u - Brother, a very powerful and true scripture, this! Take care how you use it, though; for it is true that the father draws, but also true that we do not know who the reprobate are. (Often, those who are being drawn never realise it until they believe.)

the reason why that collection of books are so appealing is because of its accuracy & applicability in any culture or time setting. you know, history repeats itself...
you're quite right on there being error in Scripture. the false apostle Paul is one good example (being half the new testament). and even the 'old' testament has big errors, deliberately mistranslated.
but other than that there is beautiful material speaking eternal truths, helping us to find our identity, man's biggest quest

now to give you a real answer: i'm truly trying to make sense of everything, and i sure have already come a long way out of religion. many beliefs are just too big and deeply rooted to all at once rip out without any care.
besides, i've experienced quite a lot, regarding miracles, moves of God, strong conviction and many more, and i simply cannot just shove them away.
i choose to trust in YHWH, the Most High, who has never let me down, and never will.

might sound cliché-ic, but the Bible as it is, without the enslaving religious influences is a series of books showing us how & why we are as bound as we are (i.e. to the material world, to lust, pride and all kinds of destructive things) and showing us the way out, toward His ultimate design known as life, free to love, bring health etc., well, you probably know what i'm getting at.

Any Pastor who preaches 1/2 the Gospel will be judged for preventing people from achieving Salvation. That said; you can't harshly force the whole Gospel onto a hurting lost person. If you "frighten" away a prospective Christian you have also, in a way, blocked them from developing a relationship with Jesus. Gradual instruction will bring someone to the point of Salvation through faith and understanding (and God's Mercy!). Don't try to clean a fish before you catch him. It doesn't work!

There is a such thing as a Christian falling into sin and living carnally for a time, but they will not continue living carnally. They will eventually repent of their sin and get back on the straight and narrow. To say that a Christian can live carnally their entire life is speaking of something other than a Christian. What you're trying to advocate is contradicted in different parts of the Bible like where it speaks of flesh being flesh and spirit being spirit, etc.

So assurance comes from works rather than the Word? Not! And who decides how much sin is permissible before you can decide they really weren't a Christian anyway? Where do you see Lot repenting? Or Solomon? If David's repentance saved him, then he had a conditional salvation, dependent on works, not grace. Jesus paid it all, and presented salvation as a free gift to anyone who would believe. Adding works to the equation depreciates the cross work of our Wonderful Saviour.

I'm saying that your position is actually "either/or" because you have yet to provide Scripture that says that God calls us to be self-feeders as opposed to fed by the pastor. Unless you provide an example of your latter assertion, your position is "either/or". I ask again:

These Christians did not have good works, yet were saved. Security in Christ is free. Works are optional in eternal salvation.

Lanech makes the common error of mixing the free gift of God which results in one becoming a son, with the call for SONS to then, and only then, become servants.
The weakest of believer's is fully a son of God. No service to God will make him more so!
One must serve in GRACE just as Jesus did. He was the Son who served. His service did not make Him the Son. He served voluntarily in order to please His Father and to save sinners.
Pastors are called to FEED the sheep, not beat them.

True Christians do fail God. Not recomended but they do! Threatening them with loss of salvation is bad teaching. Feed the pure Gospel of grace. Do not add to it as you presently are doing.
