@_@ So, Im sorry if this is offensive to fans, but is Lolita a branch of Decora? Or vise-versa? Uhm...and is there a "simplified" Decora? I like it a lot, but at the same time it seems really busy to me, with all the stuffs in their hair, and the number of necklaces/bracelets/pins/rings...Im doing a lot of research on Japanese styles for a paper and want to dedicate myself to one, so Im looking for one that would be best for me.
this style is the reason i got into anime, manga, cosplay, and other japanese styles like Lolita. I dont know how i ended up on this video years ago, but im glad i did. Even if i never wore it, it introduced me to many different things.
If I wore that in america (where fashion is a shirt and pants/skirt) I would probably be asked 'What the heck' a million times and get even more weird looks. It's really cool though. Japanese fashion is awesome!
It's terrible... If you wore that in America, people would stare at you like you were crazy. T_T When I go to Japan, I'm bringing back all of the fashion stuff I can!
@Kestrelcloud I live in the US and dress in lolita when I go out with my family, friends, and boyfriend. People stare at me a lot. Most of the time I get positive comments but do get I do get negative comments by rude people but I don't care. :)
@PrincessYeimiNohemi I bet they stare because they like the way you dress. The people who have negative comments aren't used to things that are different, even if the different things are good.
@Kestrelcloud Yeah I get many compliments from people mostly old ladies and little girls when I wear lolita. My parents and boyfriend love when I dress lolita. But sometimes when I go out dressed in lolita some people say negative things to me but I don't let it to me. I just focus on the positive compliments. :)
Haha, at my school we wear a lot of that kinda stuff well at least the accessories mostly and shirts and a lot of Teddy bear and hello kitty back packs everywhere
those harajuku girls got nothing on the girls here in london mate, they were adidas trakkies and big ass earrings with a lonsdale hoddy, awesome right?no ok then
f****n awsome! but damn how do they find the time to do all this? I would love to walk round town just being this, but i'm so busy with work and school tho
Japan's fashion is so ahead of the world, they express themselves freely. And in Amercia we get judged if we wear something slightly unique, or that isn't ''In Style''. This is found on the streets and people don't judge them horribly for it.
Most people out here in US don't have problem when an Asian Girl dresses up in it. I do it. No problem, the only problem is when you're not asian and you're doing decora, people stare at you non-stop like wtf? But I like dressing decora, I always get complimented on how cute I look :)
it must be so fun and liberating dressing like that everyday, i wouldn't mind kinda dressing like that, its wild, colorful, crazy, but cute, love japanese style, the one place you can dress and express your style freely without being frowned upon
asian style is way better than american style. i sometimes wear visual kei or sweet punk lolita to school, and people are always telling me how cute it is or where did i get clothes or how brave i am to wear it
I wore this fashion when our school day started and people are asking me to take picture with them :) I feel like, I'm a star! It's so good to wear this.. I promise..
OMG are u serious I went to japan to visit my grandmother and grandfather and they made me wear that stuff i agree its cute but you would wear it!!!?? It is hot in that outfit and you go through alot of changing
One think I like about being in a small town.. if you dress wild like that, you get flooded with compliments, and people normally spaz out on whoever is rude about it.
I love how In japan you can wear any crazy thing and people wont stare at you like WTF is she wearing Unlike here in the US people stay starring at you. :D
@xiKinky The reason why it's like that is because in the US, your clothes are a reflection of your personal philosophy and an expression of your individuality: so dressing a certain way says something about "who you are". In Harajuku, people ARE stared at. Plenty of kids go there TO be stared at..and more often than not it's with at least 1 friend. And the next day, you're back into your school uniform. What you wear in Harajuku carries much less social significance and rebellious energy.
@xiKinky What are you talking about? People stare at you if you're white or black, why do you think they wont stare if you dress like this? Punkrockers in England dressed in all of crazy things, does this mean that society accepted it? You don't know Japan at all.
dress how you like :3 don't take notice of other people. if you want to dress like that, i urge you to do so. you only have one life, live it to the full :3
i dress like that and no one calls me scene they usauly say I like ur outfit ..... byeees and who cares what people say about you or your outfits dresss how you want!and be awsome!!!!!!!!!!!
actually scene is different than harajuku. besides what matters is that you are comfortable with yourself and your style. your true friends won't care what you wear.
@LVVisgay You will get the same respons in japan, they even have school uniforms and dress codes in schools, you canä't even dress however you want everywhere in japan, you retarded girls are hillariously stupid and don't know japan at all.
I like school uniforms, I wish every public school had them.
You obliviously didn't get my point. If I were to dress that way in Japan, I would not get called scene, unlike here. In USA. And Don't call me stupid. =.= I do know a lot about Japan. I have friends who are from japan and only visiting USA. They tell me a lot.
@LVVisgay I don't care if you like school uniforms, they are there because there is a dress code, japan is not a place were you can dress however you want, thatäs why teens dress like this, they want to rebel agaisnt the strict boring japanese society, just like the english in the 80s.
@Imhornydadcomeinside .....Ok? I know that. LOL I'm not stupid. I know that, but your not getting my point. In Japan if you dressed that way, (rebelling against strict etc) if you dressed that way you WOULD NOT get called 'scene' As in here in the USA you would... That's my point. Do you get it now!? -rolls eyes- My goodness..
@Imhornydadcomeinside OMFG! Your the one calling me retarded when your sooo fucking stupid you don't even understand what I'm saying!!! Does your little brain not comprehend that!!! I JUST FUCKING SAID, that in USA if you dress decora, vk, etc people in USA call you 'scene' and i said I hate that! Cuz Its not, GOD FUCKING ASS. Do you understand it that time idiot!!!? DO YOU! Or are you to stupid!?!!? -.-; I did not call decora/vk/etc scene. IDIOTS!
Wow, that was totally awesome! I wish I was allowed to dress decora! I've got a plan. Phase one (cut my own hair so my dad has to take me to get it fixed) is complete. Next phase: Skirts and dresses!!! Maybe that decora girl at my school will help me convince my dad to let me dress decora. That way I won't have to go through with this whole plan thing.
that sucks my mom supports me, iv'e bin obsessed with Japan since i studied it in school in 3rd grade, as long as i dont overdo it and embarrass her shes fine with it
"MusicalMeredy" explains ALL..but still how can u not love the effort they bring on themselfs...I mean look European kids..all in one or two faded colours and mostly look exactly the same..
In Decora U can sense allways androgenic presence and in the same time it works.RLY does
I want to wear that at school (: But It's rare.. 'cause you never see that style at my school.. BTW I live in the Netherlands so that's explains why i cant wear it! ... But the style i wear it a bit.. (= Much bracelets.. and armwarmer such things.. (= Home I usually do wear that XD If I want too (=
Actually, it's a little known fact, but scene kids tried to copy emo kids, then put on expensive make-up and annoying neon streaks to make it "theirs", and THEN failed. The only similarity between the two is that they seem to religiously live off of being "different" by wearing everything(and I mean everything) you can get at Claire's.
Moving on...Harajuku and Decora layering are kind of cute, but the colors hurt my eyes. x_x
I'd wish in my country sell those things!! T_T

"MusicalMeredy" explains ALL..but still how can u not love the effort they bring on themselfs...I mean look European kids..all in one or two faded colours and mostly look exactly the same..
In Decora U can sense allways androgenic presence and in the same time it works.RLY does

it is nice indeed. but apparently there are some people who don't like carnaval (refering to the thumbs down).

XD
RedButterfly1115 2 years ago
ghehe, volgens mij kun je beter een roze rokje met felgekleurde sokken aanhebben dan 10 armbanden.. :']

doesn't anyone think scene kids tried to copy and failed?
xIceCookiex 2 years ago 100
(sorry if my english dosent sound good)
When i see scene kids i think "what an epic fail of trying to be kawaii >.>" a little sad i think
SuSuApproves 2 years ago 2
Actually, it's a little known fact, but scene kids tried to copy emo kids, then put on expensive make-up and annoying neon streaks to make it "theirs", and THEN failed. The only similarity between the two is that they seem to religiously live off of being "different" by wearing everything(and I mean everything) you can get at Claire's.
Moving on...Harajuku and Decora layering are kind of cute, but the colors hurt my eyes. x_x
