How to Buy Glasses Cheap...and Help Hank Pick Frames!

I like the 6'th pair but I never win so I'll check what you got after posting this. I know this video is old but maybe I can help others who buy they're first glasses. This will be a long post and will not fit in one comment. I'll try to replay to my own post and see if it works. If not, I will make a double post. Also, english is not my native language so bear with me.

I'm at my 5'th pair and I know a little about buying a good frame. Here are my advices :

1. Try to find the lightest ones. You will feel a pressure on your nose as the day goes by if they're heavy. I finally have the no frame(bolted) version and this should of been my first pair. A thin or wire frame is good also.

2. The "no frame" also helps with the next "must have". A small field of view makes wearing the glasses frustrating so try to pick big enough lenses to see all the picture without moving the head to much. That include vertical field of view also !!!

3. Never buy a pair just because they're nice and you look good with them(like I did). The glasses must be VERY comfortable on the nose and ears on the first trial. They will become "bearable" as the day goes by, so imagine if they are just "bearable" in the morning how will they feel later on the day. When you find a comfortable pair see if you also look good with them :)

4. Don't throw a lot of money on them but DEFINITELY don't get a cheap pair. The saying "You get what you pay for" very much apply here. A cheap pair cannot endure the physical stress that the expensive ones does. I'm at my 5'th pair and I lost only one so imagine what happened with the other 4.

I had some fantastic glasses last year. They were double-frames, so they were like one set of frames inside the other. I left them at Comic-Con. If anyone has found them, please met me know, because currently I'm using some that I got from my eye doctor's clearance box and they aren't great.

Or go to the thrift store or flea market. Lots of cool vintage glasses for 10% of the price new. And you can usually find very good quality. All you have to do after that is go to your optometrist and get them corrected with new lenses for like $25.
