The analogue stick on the N64 controller was FRAGILE? Dude, I played Mario Party on that thing until my palm was raw. The controllers still works perfectly
what about the wii nunchuck?? anyway... the L button on the N64 was used in smash bros 64 to taunt... i believe... and it is not my least favorite the NES is. although it is an amazing system.
Oh, no. Different intro music?? That's like changing the intro music to "The Legend of Zelda" or "Final Fantasy". However, I wouldn't mind hearing different 'remixes' of your original intro music. :)
About today's music: It's funky, but given the circumstance (i.e. vintage gaming) while the blip-blop sound of it seems okay, it's far to bland. It should be more up-beat, just like that of the video games of yore. If you catch my drip.
As for yesterday's, well, that one's more suitable. Although, yeah, too `chill'. Should be more `in ya face'. Hehe...
1 more comment after finishing the video. Despite being impossible to use all the buttons, I never had anything against the N64 controller. I remember in the wrestling games you held the middle w/ your left hand, & you could hit the d-pad to do taunts
Only controller I remember hating was the original Xbox controller. The biggest reason being when I tried it in a Walmart, due to the height & the size of the controller hooked to the demo station, it cramped my hands to use for a few minutes
I'm not sure about yesterday's music vs today's though. This one seems a little better, but I almost like the music yesterday better simply because it reminds me of Earthbound somehow....
Ah, that sucks. Though yeah, the One you used for a year wasn't bad then not at all. Btw, I dunno if it shows but I'm not too bad at editing, or at least I have the means... If you want a new intro, I could do one for you.
Call me Crazy... But the N64 is by far my Fav, controller/system of all time. Try to tell me 007 game play would have been the same with out th N64 Controller..
Cosmetically, yes they do. But yeah, it would be a nice topic to bring up in a review, to show how they really only made a few minor changes over time whereas everyone else expanded and modified their own designs.
In my opinion, Nintendo has really innovated the whole Gaming World... my personal favorate controlers are the Original NES, the N64 (it worked for Goldeneye, nuff said) and of course, the Wiimote
You are missing two controllers in your review. The controllers missing are the Virtual Boy controller and the classic Wii controller. What do you think of the classic Wii controller?
I've played with the Wii classic, but I don't own one (I use a Gamecube controller on the Wii if I need something like that). It's ok, but honestly I don't think it's worth the money if you already own a Gamecube controller.
As for the Virtual Boy, I've never had a chance to play one.
@dommiesan Realy, you've never played one?! They go for less than 100 bucks in box with games if you shop around. A lot of the best ones are on Amazon, thats where I got mine. Nobody goes there for old games apparently. Also, I thought the SNES came before the NES101 with the dogbone.
I'll have to look on Amazon. I've only seen 1 for sale once, but it was broken and had no games so I didn't bother buying it. Is it true: does it give you a headache when you play Virtual Boy?
And yes, the SNES came out before the dogbone. I got confused on the timeline.
I can give headaches to some people, but I have never had them myself. I think thats pretty weird, because I normally get chronic migraines. If you play for more than a half hour without taking a break, it might. The good thing is, every game has an auto timer, that, when enabled, pauses every 15 for a break. Its good on batteries too; Lasts for a few hours for me. Thats good considering all the things that need power on the thing! Sorry for the long comments, I'm just one of those people. :)
I forgot about the super advantage. I owned one of these controllers once, but I sold it. It is a good controller. My favorite controller for Super Nintendo is a third party controller from Asciiware called the Asciipad. It has turbo buttons.
@starblazers1969 I prefer the pad for platformers and sidescrollers, while I save the stick for the other classics, like 1943, old schools like pac-man, and (in some exeptions) shooter sidescrollers like defender.
Also, another thing you might want to do is to revamp your intro video-wise a bit as well. Use different clips, and try to time them better with the newer music.
One thing I'm curious about, is when people say "Your original theme was the best!" Are they referring to the pre-Bad-Dudes theme, or the original Section-Z NES title theme?
Shit, the Section Z days were a long time ago. I didn't think anybody remembered them. They're most likely talking about the pre-Bad Dudes, post Section Z.
Heh, yeah. I was mostly just trying to get across that people are calling your previous theme the "original", when in fact technically your original theme was the Section-Z title theme.:P
Yeah, I used that early on but then decided that I should stop using it because I didn't get permission to use it. I actually tried tracking down the lady who wrote the Section Z music - not much luck though, and there's the whole language barrier thing because I don't speak Japanese.
Also, music/video synchronization is like really hard to do. The pre-Bad Dudes music is sorta synched up with the video, but that was totally by accident. But to intentionally do something like that takes A/V editing equipment and time that I don't have.
Well I liked the new song. But it didn't really fit the video and the other song is better. I haven't heard the song you used for Bad Dudes or whatever. I will have to go check that out now. Either way, it was cool seeing all the controllers together like that. All of my controllers are all wrapped up and put away.
I feel like Nintendo should bring back a more classic console, im not really into this "Wii" control thing. And although I know graphics don't make the game.. they really were a letdown.

I actually love the 64 controller. The Z trigger made shooting games feel that much better.

It's good to switch themes once in a while, but I thought your new song in Bad Dudes fit the intro much better.
