  • It's actually 300 Mbps, not 300 MBps ;)

  • would this work in a car?

  • @xXxEmokid75xXx what do you mean

  • @MrTechReviewers

driving using wireless internet in the car for the videogames

  • The trendnet site offers no support for this device. It works great for about a month before it stops working entirely. I wish my friends and i didn't buy 3 of them. Just spring the extra money for a real name brand adapter or you will just end up replacing it in a few weeks to a month.

  • @jordypoe had mine for a year and still working great, guess im lucky haha

  • @MrTechReviewers I found a trick that got it working for about 3 hours by going directly into the bridge login @ 192.168.10.110. from there you can change stuff and even update firmware. The user name is admin and whatever you set the password as if any. Hopefully your luck lasts mine didn't. I feel like I bought my first 360 all over again, lol.

  • @jordypoe Thanks for the tips man and sorry for the bad luck!

  • if its plugged in how is it wiresless!?

  • @Antbuma44 its plugged into the xbox 360 which in turns gets wireless signal from the router

  • Can this work on a router thats not an N home network?

  • @marioplaysguitar yeah it also supports wireless b/g

  • @MrTechReviewers if my xbox CANNOT go on live even if its connected to a router does it mean that the trendnet cant go online either?

  • @marioplaysguitar yup better fix that problem first, try disconnecting and reconnecting all your router cables, power down for 45 seconds, and then reconnect all the cables to the router again and then try. Works for me everytime

  • @MrTechReviewers No its just that im getting a new router tomorrow and i just wanted to know

  • I have 2 questions lol pls reply.

    1. Is this a Router or a Wireless N Adapter like the microsoft one?

    2. Do you need to have the TrendNet Gaming Adapter always connected to your router? Like a wire to your adapter and to the router?

  • @flatthead24 Its not a router its a wireless adapter like the Microsoft one but wayyy cheaper, and no its wireless so it connects to your router wirelessly, there is a CD that comes with the adapter to help you set it up so no worries there, hope this cleared some things up.

  • thanks man i needed to wach a review and this was the one that i was looking for thanks

  • @sexydog55 thanks man, glad we could help

  • i clicked the wps button on my router and my trendnet adapter and the manual says to wait until it stops blinking but it's been blinking for couple of hours now...what should i do?

  • their 450Mbps router and their powerline adapters= fast internet. Direct wire is always fast but is messy and gets in the way.

  • 450Mbps

  • @Fox9720 thats the newer model, I have the older one which only does 300

  • I'm an asshole for asking this question but does anyone know how to get this to work for the PC? My PCI network card died and I bought this as a quick fix. I've been through the instructions but I can't get this to place nice with my PC.

  • @TokenWhiteGuyAGR you need a ethernet network card in your computer even use it.

  • I use them, they are great devices, but the marketing of this device is very stupid. Why call it a "gaming adapter" when it is a universal wireless access point for anything- Printers, laptops, desktops, TVs, etc... My company actually uses these things with IP Phone sets, when there is no "hard cabling" available in certain locations. Just kind of dumb that they gear it all towards gaming systems. Most newer gaming systems all have wireless built in anyway.

  • @at7000 agreed, the naming for their products are flawed sometimes.

  • I wouldn't recommend these if you're looking for wireless N speed... notice this chart from trendnet's website, this is only fast ethernet which gives you a 100 Mbps link. Seems silly to make an N product without a gigabit port, for that you have to go to their TEW-687GA.

  • @alexand3r1 Sorry, it won't let me post a link to the chart.

  • @alexand3r1 IT one the best WIFI device on the market 100 mb is enough for me for mmorpg games and steam

  • i have a problem...why does it disconnect me from the internet after inactivity!

  • @EhRikAhrSeeGa its supposed to do that, it reconnects only if your console is on

  • @Gameplayer77 i would just go with the cheaper one, both are already faster than what most people need, and both are backwards compatible with your 54mb router, so it;s really up to you, I would go with the one we review, just because it's been out longer, and more people have answers to questions you have on it. Hope this helps

  • @MrTechReviewers Would you get any of these products off ebay and if so do you get the 3 year warranties still ?

  • @Gameplayer77 get them if they are NEW, not used or like new or refurbished.

  • @EhRikAhrSeeGa try disabling you router's firewall

  • @MrTechReviewers how can i do that? i didn't install disc tho.... thanx

  • @MrTechReviewers Do you know anything about the update for that TEW-647GA it is called TEW-687GA was wandering if you have that or used it or anything cause if so i have a question about that one.

  • @Gameplayer77 Yes we do, the maximum network speed of that adapter is 450MBPS vs. 300 on this one we reviewed, so basically a little faster for steaming HD content to your console, but you should be fine with just this one =)

  • @MrTechReviewers Thanks for answering but i have a few more questions about the TEW-687GA.

1.There is a router for it called TEW-691GR but i already have a router from comcast can i just use the 450Mps Wireless N Gaming adapter with my router if i choose to get that upgrade ?

2.Also does both the 300 MPS and the 450 MPS do the same things according to installing your PC info for wireless internet into either gadget and using them on any game console or anything you need it for ?

  • @Gameplayer77 yes you can use the Comcast router, because this thing is also backwards compatible with wireless g routers, keep in mind though, you can only go up to 54mb in regular g or 108mb in enhanced g wireless, and to answer your second question, yes they both do the same things, the 450MPS trend net is just a little faster, these work with all consoles with a Ethernet port. Hope this helps!

  • @MrTechReviewers Thank you this info does help alot.

But let me get your honest opinion on something.

Being you have the 300 mps and the 450 mps which one do you prefer and recommend ?

  • @MrTechReviewers Ok thank you very much these answers are very helpful.

  • @Gameplayer77 you're welcome, anything for the fans =)

  • @MrTechReviewers Is the TEW-639GR any good that is the router for the TEW-647GA ?

  • hey can I plug this into my ps3? I know ps3 has wifi already but mine gets a crappy reception cuz of its location (and its in a pretty heavy duty TV stand/cabinet thing). i figured i could run one of these out to a better location even just a few feet away.

  • @Jlird808 yeah it works with PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, and Xbox =)

  • @ihobbitpk yeah it does, worked on my windows 7 machine which is 64 bit =)

  • xbox Killa

  • @gangstashanksta what this?

  • i found this on amazon for $30! :)

  • How do you afford all this stuff?

  • @MrRaunchyGirl I wouldn't be reviewing if I didn't have stuff to review would I?
