  • -all your nutrients. Everything has to be scanned and rescanned non stop to be replaced in the same position, millions of kilmeters away. Or light years.

What this gentleman is speaking of really isnt actual teleportation. It's transference of information to the body already waiting for you on the other end. Essentially send your entire info into a new body, organic or inorganic.

(this will really fuck with the theists' haha).

So it's really a Re essemblar.

  • Teleportation is (as a lamen commenting and knowing little what I know), is impossible.

Think aobut it. You'd have to map out the x,y,z of all the atoms moving constantly in your body. Because it (the telporter) would need to rebuild you exactly as it originally scanned you. To the last atom. It has to be so because imagine if you got reatomized without an ear, or an eye. Or worse, to be reatomized to resemble a Picasso painting. Not to mention all the bacteria, and fluids in your body. All -

  • "If a self assembler ever does become possible, that's gonna be one of history's great 'holy shit' moments." - Could not have said it better myself.

  • where is visions 20? :)

  • @xshadowgirlx

I know! It's so annoying! I hate leaving a series unfinished. Fortunately I've seen this many times, so I know how it ends, but....

    (sigh).

  • LMAO good bye drug dealers........

  • The biggest question mankind wants to know is the answer to everything.

Awesome technologies hopefully I will live long enough to see them :)

  • @DoNotLaughAtMe ditto. i really hope i will live to see all the things of my imagination.

  • @s694019001 Yeah, I know, that would be awesome :)

Lol fast reply for you :)

  • @DoNotLaughAtMe fast reply's are my specialty.

  • your teleported self would be as much you as are copies of you in parallel universes, but really its all the same matter anyway. It is your thoughts and actions that determine who you are, not the stuff your made of.

  • saxquiz you heard that guy not everything will be free.. never is. This show makes me wish I was born later.

  • I could watch this all day.

  • wait, where is the rest of this?

  • we would probly have different programs for a fabricator for example one could be to make a sudayroast then take it out and put in one to quickly make a gun or sumthing

  • In half a century our lives will be changed. Everyone will have access to everything: fabricators that can build weapons, quantum computers that can crack CIA codes, nanobots that can track a humanbeing like a cellphone or that can reproduce and do who knows what. Perhaps a group of people can teleport into the nation's capital and take it over without even having to get past the defenses. Yep, I agree with delecious.

  • Do these research ideas come from people having watched the likes of Star Trek or were the themes in Star Trek simply coincidental to what scientists and companies are researching now?

  • the end of video is here

    /watch?v=uvLpJ8_3ml8

  • Thank you!!!

  • awesome, and why did someone 'thumbs down' this ???

  • crap, the user that was posting these videos hasnt accessed his/her account in 5 months.. i guess part 20 of the series will never be uploaded.. and i hope AcademicRene is well.. after all he/she lives in China O.O

  • science is my church, science is where i heal my wounds

  • @eyhexs Well said Paine

  • yes well the test will be, can we harness the power of "god" without ending the world, if we have the ability to completly destroy our selves as a species is an amazing feat alone, but surviving such an Era would b humanitys ultimate accomplishment

  • Can you imagine a world where all the things in this series have been achieved? It would be nearly unrecognizable from where we live today. Money would lose it's meaning. Would we have to work 40hr a week jobs? People could live as they want and we could finally get rid of this slavery that we call employment.

  • @saxquiz I can imagine.

  • @saxquiz

I think if there was a machine that could replicate anything, especially food of all kinds, it woudl eliminate all desperation. The only things we'd be perhapse payiung for is transport. Or a bigger flat to live in. Property.

    Maybe a vehicle.

But starvation would never be a problem. Or materialistic needs. All the basics of human desires would be met.

But I've also wondered the same thing since I was abouot 7 years old. I saw this episode in this tv series called Ark 2. This -

  • @saxquiz

-this lady places a boulder inside a micor wave. And takes out a thanks giving sized turkey, already made and prepared within a press of a button and five seconds of waiting. Now, I dont think that impossible someday. Certainly not within at least 3 generations form now. Who knows.

As to the jobs. I think that having a job would be almost a privilage, because there would be hardly any jobs to go round. Especially if / when robots are ubiquitous, like computers are today. Striking-

  • @saxquiz

-off everyday work is a nice thought. But think about the possibilities. You sit at home all day. Everything's taken care of for you. you have everythng you need. Shirts meded/ironed. Foods great. You dont gain weight due to a special pill. No sickness.

You have nothing left to look forward to. No thrift. No meaning in life. Suddenly, working everyday for somethng you cared for, seems to be a self-fulfilling 'therapy'.

But it's a good discussion, isnt it.

  • lmao i thought the scientist said "the greatest holy shit moment"

  • Not to mention, if we didn't have an overpopulation solution by then we'd be fucked. Endless food = endless population. 6 billion is enough for me. If restraints were put on what the fabricator could make, then it really wouldn't be serving it's advertised purpose, would it? And you have to know, for any of these technologies there will be hackers who use it for their own gain.

  • thats where the colonization of space comes into play

  • What happens with the asshole who wants to personally fabricate way more than is necessary? Won't this lead to pollution on an astronomic scale? Gold standard would mean nothing, as anyone could create as much gold as they wanted. Or Cash..or diamonds...or products...can an economy thrive without competition? Is an economy fundamental in a society?

  • The video implied that the replicators can manipulate atoms. Therefore, to make anything golden, you'd first need a supply of gold. Gold happens to be a chemical element, not something you can make by combining other elements. On the other hand, if the replicators could manipulate matter on a subatomic level, then anything is possible...

  • i dont need gold for the fabricator to build me an assault rifle; with that and some ammo i can get the gold :-)

  • lol

  • i want to see a robot that dances like micheal jackson

  • Ok. This teleportation theory will really fuck with religious peoples' brains. So you have to discard the idea of a soul, and rather realise or ackowledge that it's just energy powering your body. If it proves to be a reality, then what we'll end up doing, according to this scientist, is sending our personal info, such as experiences/memories then reinstalling it all into a new ready for use body. A newer healthier replicated body, with the same information as in the original. How cool is that?

  • we'll neverr die in theory that way.. which is cool

  • That'll be great. Put a rock into a microwave like box. Perhapse with a combination of something organic, like a carrot. Then press start. A roast chicken is now ready for consumption. This will eradicate hunger, therefore competition, therefore crime. We'll essetially rather satisfy our egos than our empty stomachs. This is what the human race is striving for I think.

  • hi do u have vision 20?

  • I would never teleport myself. I will risk loosing loved ones and just travel near speed of light everywhere.

  • in the future

  • hahaha exactly

"in the future...in the future...in the future"

  • if it only show the information of a poton that has been teleported then what happens to the original one.

in other words the original gets killed or distroyed and build a new one

    like a foxmachine ?

  • Exactly. Look, it's pretty scary for us right now, but in the future, it'll be as basic as the cell phone. I mean, 200 years ago who'd have thought we'd be flying around inside gigantic iron flying machines.

  • you fabricator will only make what it knows how to make. So, you can't make a gun unless you can buy the schematics for it. And with that, there will still be backround checks ect. That would be the basic safeguard, maybe you can buy schematics that only allow one print(coded to delete schematic after print). Least that's the way I see it.

  • people can pirate the schematics.

  • This technology without limits basically give anyone the power to build anything giving criminals and lunatics insane amounts of power. At this point in the future it would be possible for anyone with a motive to destroy the planet. Hopefully we can think of appropriate safeguards for this sort of thing.

  • "At this point in the future it would be possible for anyone with a motive to destroy the planet. Hopefully we can think of appropriate safeguards for this sort of thing."

Yes, it's called having to remove the liberties of all simply to stop the few who would destroy the world from doing it. Mass intrusive monitoring of people's actions and movements will be required. And people won't like it.

  • @deliciousonionsoup No worries we can modify everyone genetics to be good person for their rest of their lives :)

  • so will I be able to fabricate a gun in my house? and bullets...? sick stufff

  • at this age there won't be any need for guns.

  • NO ooo

  • well... thats not as bad as I thought...

do you think you can get ahold of it for us???

    =D

  • the end is missing?!

  • yep.. that sucks after watching all 19 parts, as I was really wanting to catch the whole thing.

  • i'm sure the user will get round to parts 20 +. he/she's been kind enough to upload all this already!

amazing programme!! really makes you think
