@SriBhargav-I personally go with your comment about the distorted use of Tagore songs in Gaaner Opaare,though they have become immensely popular among the present generation guys..but,sadly enough,Ustaad Raashid Khan's rendition of Aji Jhorerh Raate in 'The Last Lear 'is no distortion..if you follow the melodic structure you would notice,the maestro hasn't deviated from the basic note structure of raag malhaar to which the song is set.
