13:10 Earlyer in the movie a govt official said a possibility for the precise fall of the rocks was "nature's perfect randomness, like snowflakes" Well buddy, How do you like them snowflakes?
@dan1701a -- FM 102.4 is probably a frequency which has been deliberately faked for broadcast purposes, in much the same way that telephone numbers mentioned in movies and television program are often deliberately faked by using "555" as the first three numbers when that exchange is not widely used in real life.
This was on Halloween 1994...it was CBS' attempt at a sort of Twilight Zone episode. It was pretty awesome to watch when it happened. I imagine that seeing it without that context makes it seem hokey. I do appreciate seeing it again - thanks, ddcgod!
Sending down asteroids to impact the planet, even in unsettled areas, does not seem like an ideal greeting. If the aliens got the message from V2, then they must have had access to our radio transmissions since the 1930s, offering ample time to decipher our various languages. Even if not deciphered, a radio signal would be an appropriate response-perhaps a binary code or combination of prime numbers or mathematical constants. Its a shame the aliens wiped out Denise Wong, she's smoking hot.
@mrqcrew Yeah, bombarding a planet with kinetic kill missiles is not a good way to make first contact. That guy from SETI was an idiot. That was a declaration of war.
Great movie I was suspended throughout the whole thing!

Huge asteroids about to hit 3 capitals and none of the cameramen think to shoot it streaking through the sky?

Yeah, I don't think I'd want to have contact with aliens that communicate with huge asteroid pieces.

Yeah, don't think they'd broadcast a 440 hz tone after just being obliterated.

FM 102.4? There is no such thing in the US. FM decimal places are odd numbers.
But she could have been referring to the old CONELRAD frequencies. I know 640 was one, but I can't remember the other one.

Well that was depressing, aliens attacked us because we dared to defend ourselves? Makes perfect sense to me.

@kpeavey2 Yeah, the whole "meteor impact" thing doesn't really make any sense. Ah well.

Retarded aliens...come here unannounced, blow stuff up, and kill us when we defend ourselves. Who's the most violent race in the universe?

Que loco. Había visto este programa en TNT allá por el 99 realmente una historia muy atrapante. La película te hacia vivir cada minuto.
