People would have a limited amount of surfing, just like you have a limited amount of downloading you can do with your internet package as it is. Just slow clamping down on the sharing of info. They did not anticipate the impact that the Internet has had with free speech, information exchange, and organization. A lot of people believe those stories when a group of hackers in Russia can actually turn off the water supply in a small town in America. I think it happened in Idaho or Iowa (could be a fabricated story?). I've based these reactions from commentators who are reading mainstream papers like the Globe and Mail. Google has been chipping away at youtube for a while now which will co-exist very nicely with any new regulations in my opinion. Even on their own blogs GoogleTube quite openly admits their plans for a MASS consumer generated "leanback" program that would simulate T.V. so that they can stream your favorite videos even movies without lifting a finger or clicking a button.

Like I commented on another site, I think that by contacting your ISP or cable company or phone company will have an effect because my own ISP dropped my monthly fee $10 per month for the same service because I am considered a loyal customer. If you tell them that if they try to introduce this you will drop them as a provider. When they see that they're losing customers, ( that represents money ) they will do what they can to keep you.

It's not a question of shutting it down completely. Commerces would just be forced to pay so their sites don't take forever to load. People would have a limited amount of surfing, just like you have a limited amount of downloading you can do with your internet package as it is. Just slow clamping down on the sharing of info. I'm pretty sure they would not do anything that would shut down internet commerce. If that happens, people will wake up and come out of the matrix and that is a no-no.

Most of us already pay to access the internet. So now they plan on selling net-packages. That is so criminal. I can not get High Speed DSL where I live, and I already pay 80 a month for 17 gigs a month. Now they want to rent us what sites we visit? So much for doing research. If they do it, it will kill most all research that is done by the average user. It is BS in my opinion, and they should not take away our ability to freely surf the web. We MUST protest any attempt to kill our net surfing.

Yeah it sounds bad, and I certainly wouldn't put it past TPTB to do this, They probably will. But there are too many people who know how to program to let this be the end of the free web (think LINUX). If they create a corporate-controlled pay-per-site web, you can bet yer booty a free web will spring up. So... there will be TWO webs. Guess which one I will use? =)

I have to agree with you regarding the Internet. The Oligarchs (CFR) are desperate to retain control of their empire. They did not anticipate the impact that the Internet has had with free speech, information exchange, and organization. We have left their bubble of propaganda and seen their treason, and they are desperate to take that avenue of public freedom back. It will be this year, after some sort of event.
Our next step is for truth seekers to begin meeting outside and start organizing.
