The more explanation I read the less I like that German trick. Actor imitating Freddie's moves. Who needs a fake? Freddie lives in our memories and I believe he exists in better place, where we all will meet one day. He died too soon, for sure. But he gave us so much during his short life so we don't need any tricks.
Remember that episode of American Idol when they did something similar with Elvis, that's the only episode I ever watched of that crappy show only because I love Elvis so much, This was a great video, you made it perfectly... Good song also, I also love Queen.

This is one of my absolutely favorite songs, simply or not, it doesn´t a matter! This was Freddie goodbye to his many, many fans and i was very, very, shocked November 91, this was like yesterday. I miss him so much, i can´t describe in words... but wonderful show, they cut it, but it´s not urgend! Thomas

now we went in the studio put the musicians that you can see in my show on stage and shot the new background for the whole clip. to do it precisely we used a double of freddy as a stand in. so we could check whether the camera - ankles were correct. before shooting the double left stage, then we started the playback and the musicians played.

Audience is at the same level as stage- maybe even higher- but guys are watching all show on the screen which is mount over stage- on stage theres some actor. So actor at scene and already-made video on screen.

They Used the orignal tapes. they used out takes and other used and unused footage, The man you see at 2:03 is Rudi Dolezal the dirctor of the music video for These are The days. Thats why the videos do not match 100% also in the German TV show they Show Jim Hutton (Freddie's Last and longest Partner) and Peter "Phobe" Freestone Freddie's Personal assistant. So no over analysis needed. The dirctor Rudi did this for German TV
they did the same animation with Falco and his hit Emotional in this show - great work; hope i see this once again with another songs!

so in all wide shots and in all shots that are taken from the back you see the double.
to get emotions from the audience we showed them the clip of the original freddy and shot audience close-up.

Amazing!! Even with CGI, this would still have been difficult.
I can't imagine what Freddie was feeling,he WAS so strong looking, & virile.
So sad to see the shell he became. Aids is horrible disease.. taken some "famous" people, Rock Hudson.. Gia Carangi, many more.
Very Sad.. wish Freddie had of known the dangers way back when... he would still be here if he did.
The world lost a fantastic talent the day he died :)
