  • We've corrected ourselves and removed the name "Yagi" after the word dipole ! ;-)

  • - Yes a bi-directional antenna will out perform a uni-directional when you are listening off the back side of the beam.

    - And yes 20m antenna's should be more than 10 feet off the ground.

I don't understand what the video was trying to show us.

  • To be quite honest, you need to have these antennas at the same height, at least 25 feet. It would be good to see you actually turning the beam and the dipole so we could see the difference in signal. In my opinion, the hex beam should completely outperform the dipole, if it doesn't then it's not worth going to the extent of installing it if it's no better than a dipole

  • Be nice to see the S meter when instead of the band scope so we could see signal strength.

  • Thanks for the video. I am looking at making a rotatable dipole and this gives me some interesting comparisons with a Hex beam.

  • Was the hex directed twards the stations?

  • @honeybees1

no it was not. i just fot the rotor sync with the antenna. however at 12 feet above the ground I dont think it will make a big difference

  • Interesting, thanks!
