Try getting that much power out of a piston engine... it would be huge.
Turboprops are strong engines they can suck up dust without much problems unline turbofans hence the C-17 they are also clean they don't use much fuel but they are indeed less capable at high speeds about 600km/h
I bet it's nice knowing how to fly. I would learn how to fly but I have cerebral palsy. Anybody that has cerebral palsy is always automatically banned from learning how to fly by the FAA.

They can handle the planes better with propellar engines than with jet engines

These are turboprops witch is a jet engine driven propellar. and these are more reliable than piston driven.
