  • I am eight. I learned this song well song ya in music class!!

  • Well meaning advice to roseellen: spend less time here and a little more time learning to write.

  • its sounds good, but its wayyy to fast

  • Liked the original opening. Also the smiling was important for the bitchiness.

  • It isn't actually by Rossini

  • @cherrywinklekai Enjoy it - don't forget to act as well as sing! :-)

  • I remember when I first heard this on the classical music station, I couldn't stop laughing.

  • Thanks for all the cats

  • wonderful performance! do you have any tips for the acting, especially for the soprano singer( me, in this case!)? great job!

  • @mcmolgog Sorry, I was just the video person. Anyway, glad you liked it. :-)

  • Lott & Murray as well as the catholic kids performing this song were my favorites. It definitely is interesting to see the different story lines portrayed with this song........Not my favorite performance but well done.

  • i am doing this in chorus.. torture.... i mean i like it but the meowing foolishness bothers me! u meow the whole song! and you fssssttt once in a while... wow...

  • Bravissimo

  • im doing this in choir its so fun

  • Excelente esta version de Rossini!

Muy divertida la verdad ^^ ♥

  • C'est exactement ce que je comprends de cette "petite" mais très belle oeuvre de Rossini.

    BRAVO.

  • We are learning this in choir :) it is the most fin i have ever had!

  • Great performance. My two daughters are going to do this song for some talent contests next year.

  • In my opinion, this is a great performance of this piece, regardless of the singers being ameteurs or fully pro.

    Thumbs up, really liked it.

  • It's very nice, very amusing, and very lightening. A wonderful piece and a wonderful rendition. :)

However, there are reservations about the fact whether it was really Gioachino Rossini who composed it. Some often attribute it to Robert Lucas de Pearsall, though the music was borrowed from Rossini's 'Otello'.

  • Thanks for the comments - I'll pass 'em onto the performers, if I can find them after all this time.

And thanks for the info re. Pearsall - I had no idea!

  • @Ainulindale87 So Robert Lucas de Pearsall is the original "Weird" Al Yankovic?

  • The duet is actually believed to have been written by someone else, not Rossini.

  • Thats Wrong

  • Any chance of you being a bit more specific as to what exactly is wrong - in your opinion?

  • Perhaps before deleting my comment you could tell us who is singing.

  • Why should I delete your comment? There are lots of comments here.

Anyway, the singers are amateurs, as were the entire cast. I'd need their permission to pass on their real names and after all this time they've moved on. Sorry.

    Did you like their performance?

  • It's a great and funny performance. I'm sure they moved on. They have great voices.

  • we had to sing this in chamber choir, it was hilarious, we did it for our christmas concert!

    I love this song

  • haha cat fight... but then they end up being friends. :D

  • @operagirl81 LOL.

  • Duetto buffo di due gatti! I love it. T hanks for posting.

  • ha ha that is what the chorus at my school is singing and it is so funny!!! thank god i do band! for once it is good to be a so called "band geek" ha ha

  • lol the faces X3! Im singing this in chorus rite now! I hated it at first, but now I luff it!

  • I like this it's really funny.

  • i just saw that in real life it was great, and so were they

  • HAAAA!!! i love rossini's buffa! =D

this is sooo funny!!! he wrote this piece and called it "sins of my old age"!!! hahaha

thanks for putting this piece up!

  • It's from a group of songs called "sins of m old age."

  • thanks for the info =D

  • Brilliant! Our pianist in chorus asked me if I wanted to do this with her and I said yes after her description - and now I'm in love with the piece. Great job, both of you - it should be interesting to see how it pans out for us, as neither of us can keep a straight face for more than thirty seconds when we're together anyhow.

  • So film it, post it here and tell us when it's done! :-)

  • I am going to perform this duett(the soprano part) in June in a concert and it is absolutely fabulous... Caro Rossini!

  • Always a brilliant comic moment

  • Have you heard Hinge and Bracket doing this? It is absolutely hysterical.

  • Funny!
