the three guys that kiper said were still on the board who they shouldve gotten (jerry hughes, kyle wilson, and sergio kindle) all blew last year. except for kindle that is, he just fell down some stairs and didnt even play. shows what he knows...
Mccourty has played some great football and him and bodden next year along with arrington butler and wilhite in nickel and dime packages should be very good especially if butler starts playing to his potential. Chung and meriweather should be a great pair back their for years to come as long as meri can work on his tackling all around. Mayo, spikes, banta Cain, and Cunningham, along with nink should also be good. That d-line with a draft pick as a DE, wilfork, and Warren. Look out.
why the pats didnt draft james laurinaitis when he was still on the board in the 2nd round last year i dont know...its also wired how bill was great at drafting D but now he is getting steals on offense and missing on defense
@ryantimmins99 i honestly dont care what your opinion is on anything because you have an obvious bias. robinson will be a better player when its all said and done.
@RoddickRocks79 ill be sure to do that. but just for now if uve watched all the rookie corners, mccourty has hands down been the best so far, shutting down 1st string receivers in preseason and controlling T.O to minimal receptions
@ryantimmins99 footy-pajama patriots fan. shutting down 1st string WR's all preseason? he got his jock handed to him quite a few times vs the rams. the reason he looks so "good" is because butler has been so putrid. i'm sure you're a big believer in the "value" system the pats use. that yielded them butler at CB in 09 instead of vontae davis. I'd take vontae hands down any day. last time i checked the saints won the SB, so they must have some clue what they're doing personnel wise (pat robinson)
@RoddickRocks79 last time i checked the patriots still have 3 superbowls under bill belichick who coincidently has been the boss on draft day. and what the fuck has robinson done so far. mccourty has been awesome and i do not recall him getting his "jock and handed to him" beat by any rams receiver.. and i do agree butler is not very good. but im not complaining because of BB's success. and do u genuinely believe that robinson is better than mccourty, boy u must be out of your fucking mind
@ryantimmins99 how long are you going hold onto the "3 super bowls in 4 years" line? that can be the answer to everything. the defense sucks, but hey we won 3 super bowls in four years. mccourty has not been "awesome", contrary to what your homer eyes see. you do realize he was on clowney for a good majority of that game, a guy who wasnt even on the roster the week before? he gave up two TD's to keller and cotchery. BB the boss on draft day? then where is the talent? he's great at collecting
@ryantimmins99 picks but look at all the busts they have drafted over the last few years. crable, wheatley, wilhite, etc. Look at the drafts from 06-08. Horrific. robinson will be better than mccourty contrary to what your homer eyes believe. the reason robinson hasn't been able to play as much is because the saints actually have starting quality corners in front of him like greer and porter
@RoddickRocks79 ahahaha!!! ur getting me started on busts? really ur argument is retarded because wheatley was a second rounder crable a third and wilhite a fourth. u cant bust in the fourth round. now lets look at the saints FIRST round picks. malcolm jenkins... sucks.. Sedrick Ellis... is O.K....meachem... is a bust. hes decent but cmon. first round? and dont even get me started on reggie "best back in NCAA history" Bush. ur stupid mccourty has been solid better than robinson. not even close.
@ryantimmins99 you're just a typical homer fan. what talent have the Pats exactly developed on D over the last 4 years? Who on the Patriots defense actually scares an opponent? Who on the Pats D do teams have to actually scheme for? The answer is Wilfork and that's it. Pretty pathetic. the point is all those 2nd and 3rd round picks are part of the "value based approach" the Pats employ in the draft. If you're going to continually trade down for value, you have to hit on those picks. They haven't
@RoddickRocks79 u know i have valid arguments with saints players busting. the patriots are rebuilding. dont forget when they had seymour bruschi vrabel, samuel harrison. belichick is the best coach in the league and he will make some of these guys including mccourty into stars. like u think u could do a better job than BB. all u can do is talk trash and pretend ur like a professional analyst. and the original argument was mccourty is better than robinson and thats the trutt and u know it
@ryantimmins99 i never said that the saints were the best personnel team in the league or leaps and bounds better than the patriots in the draft. i just implied that over the last few years they've done a great job of bringing in talent and building their roster into a championship caliber team. they've drafted guys like tracy porter, sedrick ellis, carl nicks, will smith, jahri evans, malcolm jenkins (who is a promising prospect at safety contrary to your thoughts). they've also brought in a
@RoddickRocks79 i dont need essays explaining ur points. but again, i have an argument. the pats have brought in wilfork, ty warren, jerod mayo, meriweather, pat chung, sebastien vollmer. every team has their hits and misses. and u say im biased. not really i can admit the pats mistakes. butler isnt very good wilhite and wheatley sucked. i just going to end the argument. best of luck to mccourty and robinson. good arguing with you. you know ur shit pretty well. peace
@ryantimmins99 it will be interesting to see how they pan out. both should at least be decent. good discussion. Pats D looked awful today. Fitzpatrick looked like a stud. Disappointing, but a win is a win. Need this D to start improving if we are gonna go anywhere this year. Peace.
@ryantimmins99 (cont'd) good haul of guys through free agency and trades with guys like vilma, sharper, greer, etc. But that is neither here nor there. the argument is mccourty vs robinson. i am not saying i am "smarter" than belichick or pro scouts or anything but simply giving my opinion, just like you're giving yours. i saw both guys play a pretty decent amount, and robinson looks like he has more tools to develop into a great corner. in gregg williams scheme on D, corners are extremely
@ryantimmins99 (cont'd) important. they have to be able to play in man press on an island and have good ball skills. the saints obviously liked this guy so much that they took him even though they have greer and porter locked in as starters for the time being. i prefer the upside and raw talent of robinson than the safe but limited potential of mccourty. man draft "experts" called robinson the most athletically gifted corner in the draft with his great hips, closing speed, and ability to play
@ryantimmins99 (cont'd) press coverage and be a great corner down the line. mccourty was seen as more of a zone corner who could excel in a cover 2 scheme because he was physical in run support. robinson was compared to eric wright and mccourty to ronde barber. i personally prefer the type of corner that robinson is considered. a lot of people said the same things about vontae davis going into the 09 draft. oh he's too lazy, he doesn't play up to his potential, he has mental lapses, etc. but
@ryantimmins99 (cont'd) that has seemed to work out pretty outstanding for the dolphins. malcolm jenkins was considered a safer pick because vontae was "risky" due to inconsistent play in college and getting benched at one point in his career. it's pretty obvious when you watch them both play that robinson has a lot more potential. with a good coaching staff, he will likely turn into a great corner just like vontae davis has turned into for miami. butler vs davis and mccourty vs robinson. shame.
@ryantimmins99 sorry i don't consider a stud someone that gets beat by Harvin and luckily rips the ball out of his hands as the WR lays on the ground. that's called poor coverage with a lucky bounce of the ball warping the perception of the viewer. he's had his good moments, but he's also been chewed at times like most rookie CB's. Robinson has been starting for NO and has looked good until he got on the first series last night. glad you judge corners by fluke interceptions. LOL.
@RoddickRocks79 im not talking about interceptions. mccourty well the entire game and so far the entire year. your acting as if harvin is a joke. dont fuck with me you know that ud pick mccourty over robinson. glad to see you judge corners on "starting" until they get on their first series. LOL
@ryantimmins99 ??? i'm sorry that i don't judge a guy's career based on 7 games in his rookie season. patrick robinson has been starting and playing very well as well. i was simply stating that he got knocked out of the game on Sunday night on the first series and appeared to hurt his ankle. he's been praised for the job he's done in coverage and with the tackles he's made in run support. maybe if you weren't a blind homer, you'd actually watch and evaluate guys. footy pajama faggot. def jewish
@ryantimmins99 your lack of football knowledge is also prevalent because Gregg Williams' scheme is much harder for a rookie CB to step into and have immediate success. McCourty always has deep safety help and BB's defense is very conservative & at times very zone-heavy. Gregg williams comes from the buddy ryan tree - press man coverage and heavy blitzing. watch a saints game or read some blogs on how he's played before you make dumb claims. LOL at how much you think you know but really dont
@RoddickRocks79 dude jsut because u said shit like press man coverage zone heavy, doesnt mean ur like mike mayock. u think bill belichick's defensive scheme is a joke? belichick's knowledge would rape gregg williams's knowledge any day. i just still cant believe that u think patrick robinson is a better player than devin mccourty. footy pajama faggot? def jewish? damn son my 4 year old cousin has better chirps. oh and jsut a side note: do u actually play football. and dont lie i wont make fun.
@ryantimmins99 when did i ever say i was mike mayock? when did i ever say Belichick's scheme is a joke? i said gregg williams plays a much more aggressive scheme than bill belichick. the pats play a lot of zone and a lot 2 deep coverages. they drop their LB's into coverage and they don't like to blitz. williams blitzes almost as much as rex ryan and the corners have to hold up on an island quite often in man-0 coverage or with a single deep safety -- something you obviously can't comprehend
@ryantimmins99 those are facts -- not opinions. ask anyone that watches footbal and they will tell you that's true of the two schemes. then ask anyone which scheme is harder to step right into and have success -- it's gregg williams' scheme because you aren't always protected w/ safety help. it's comical how you have probably never watched robinson play and have seen mccourty play half of a season and deem him so great. you're a typical HOMER. i have read some of your other comments. you just
@ryantimmins99 praise anything and everything the Pats do. it's a shame that you can't be an objective viewer. have you ever seen robinson play? or do you just read bogus amateur scouting reports online and take them as facts? you are a footy pajama patriots fan -- they can do no wrong in your eyes. and yes you are a jew because only jews repeatedly try to pat themselves on the back even when they are dead wrong. you really have no clue what you're talking about
@RoddickRocks79 i dont praise everythign the pats do. i disagree with 4th and 2, i disagree with always trading down in drafts, i disagree with trading moss. im just talking about mccourty and ur calling me a homer fan. and im a fsu fan u rat. ive seen robinson play. good corner by highly inconsistent. and u just made a racist joke about jews that has no relevance to our argument. u think ur like an nfl analyst cuz u can spit out some fotball jargon when uve never slipped on fb pads in ur life.
@ryantimmins99 you're just simply not intelligent enough to understand. robinson has MORE potential and i prefer HIS SKILL SET to mccourty's. mccourty is a solid player who will be good. robinson has the potential to be great. he is a better raw talent and will develop into a better player. i don't think i'm an NFL analyst at all, but i know much more than your stupid ass. disagreeing with the moss trade is further proof that you have no idea what you are talking about!!!! moss was the reason
@RoddickRocks79 its funny how ur ripping the patriots but ur forgetting the fact that they are 6-1 u queer. and thats the best record in the nfl. and u still havent responded to whether or not u actually play football or u just sit around on ur fat ass all day thinking that ur a football genius. and moss always had a saftey spying on him and obviously at 33 he wasnt as effective. its not like he was useless. seriuosly im sick or arguing... like idfc.. the pats are 6-1 and ur a queer. peaceeee
@ryantimmins99 1. yes i have played football you dumb faggot. 2. you cannot evaluate talent. 3. that's the best team in football? cleveland destroyed them. 4. typical cliche "moss ran off the safety" -- you're not smart enough to understand coverages. 4. i couldn't care less what some homer internet herb says to me. you are wrong, have always been wrong, and will be wrong going forward. you're really a waste of oxygen. good riddance, herb.
@ryantimmins99 i actually respect you more for saying that we are all too competitive to let it go but still disagree with you. you're overrating a guy based on half of a season. butler looked pretty good at times in 09, and where is he? benched in favor of Arrington - an undrafted free agent from Hofstra. mccourty has made some nice plays but has gotten beat/chewed/given up big plays/gotten costly penalties much more than you will admit. its ok though, you're just not a realist
@ryantimmins99 pats gameplan vs steelers: bring a variety of blitzes and play press man coverage. McCourty was chewed and picked on quite often. Oh wait, isn't that what I said? That Patrick Robinson is a better press man corner? Did you see McCourty whiff on his attempt to jam Wallace at the line and give up a 20 yard gain on a slant? or does that not count? he gave up a ton of plays despite the ballwashing collinsworth gave him early on. once again, you're wrong. too homer to admit it
@RoddickRocks79 im sorry. show me what robinson has done thats so goddamn spectacular. u scrutinize every single mistake he makes and hes a damn rookie. revis wasnt a stud when he first came into the league. seriously fuck this argument. saying that u like patrick robinson more as a prospect that mccourty is saying that u know more than bill belichick. which u dont cuz hes clearly one of the best to ever put on a headset. call me a homer, uve done it 1000 times idfc. bottomline: pats=7-2
@ryantimmins99 saying that i like robinson more doesn't mean that i think i know more than belichick. i'm not a smug faggot like you. i didn't know people weren't allowed to have opinions. my problem with people like you is you don't know how to analyze anything correctly. mccourty gets beat on a route by harvin and as harvin is falling down he knocks the ball up into the air -- and that's a GREAT play according to you, ignoring the fact that he got smoked in coverage. you're too emotional. soft
when did i EVER say that the harvin play was good. ur actually stupid. i think mccourty is better than robinson. "i didnt know people werent allowed to have opinions." ur "smug faggot" im emotionally soft? fuck u, ur comments make me believe that ur no more than ten years old. seriously how old are u? ur putting words in my mouth i never said that the harvin play was great u rat liar. i just said that hes playing well this season and all u can argue is some plays that he gave up some plays
@ryantimmins99 you came on here after the minnesota game bragging about how great mccourty played. he did relatively nothing all game and Arrington was used to cover Moss for most of the game. McCourty was assigned to cover Harvin on most plays. Harvin had 104 yards and toasted McCourty over the middle quite often. I don't know how you could possibly come on here after that and brag about how great McCourty is. The only way you would -- seeing his "interception" (which was more of a strip) and
@RoddickRocks79 dude wallace got all his plays in garbage time. roethlisberger had more passing yards than brady, does that mean he had a beter game? no because he got most of them in garbage time when players are playing half ass. k fuck this argument, get back to me when patrick robinson does something relevant in the nfl.
@ryantimmins99 i didn't know that only a portion of the 60 minutes count. what a joke. you want to take out the plays he did poorly on and keep the plays he did well on just because the Pats had a lead late in the game? last time i checked, they play 60 minutes. i guess brady's last TD doesn't count b/c it was garbage time. mccourty gave up plays both early and late. you know i'm right about the minnesota game too, so you have no way to defend yourself. bum
@RoddickRocks79 what???? im not letting this argument go, u call me a homer fan when u still cant admit that mccourty is FLAT OUT better than robinson. admit it for fucks sake u have to comeback. but no i guess ur only compeback will be maybe a couple of completions he gave up. i guess that pick last night didnt count cuz it was sanchez. and that pick probably didnt count against calvin right?im not jsut talking picks. for the most part qbs avoid throwing in his direction. wake the fuck up.
@ryantimmins99 i never said that mccourty sucked; that is something that YOU CREATED. my whole original point was that I PREFER the type of corner Patrick Robinson is and think he will go on to have the better career. mccourty has played well recently but he is simply being overrated due to his interception numbers. people are already touting him as a shutdown CB. the reason teams don't throw at him is because arrington & butler are so putrid. when thrown at he has still given up big plays.
@ryantimmins99 butler looked pretty good last year too. he's blown this year. mccourty has played well at times and has looked below average at times. he's been overrated due to his INT numbers. on some of them he's made nice plays, on some of them the ball has hit him right in the chest (peyton manning) and on some he's been roasted and gotten a lucky bounce of the ball (harvin).
@ryantimmins99 using your amateur analysis to say he's been playing so well this season. why else would you come on here and brag about McCourty vs Minnesota? Harvin got the better of him for most of the day. McCourty had a few decent plays here and there, but it was not one of his better performances. Mike Wallace also roasted him often in the Pitt game. Try to be objective and try to actually analyze the play of a guy before making dumb accusations.
@RoddickRocks79 stop writing like 4 comments everytime im not reading them all. oh yeah my amateur analysis? oh like ur a fucking pro. i neverm said that u said mccourty sucked. never. but the fact that ur still not willing to admit that hes a better player than robinson? thats just pathetic and shows ur ridiculous ego. and butler was not nearly as good as mccourty this year. not even close. the only argument u have is listing like a few of his mistakes. i could be here all day ripping robinson
@ryantimmins99 i just said mccourty is currently playing WELL. yes, he has played better than robinson mainly because robinson A) is playing behind two very good corners in Greer and Porter and B) Missed a few weeks with an ankle sprain. when Robinson has played, he's been praised for his play. i never said that i was a pro or that i was better than BB. i simply just stated my opinion - which is legal btw - that i think robinson has more potetial & will have a better career. u then attacked me.
@RoddickRocks79 im sorry did i hurt your feelings? i attacked you? what are u 8 years old. please dont tell on me. when robinson has played hes been praised? what games were u watching. hes been consistently beat and hasnt done anythign in run support. this was ur initial comment: "overdrafted due to combine rise" BB doesnt give a shit about combine (spikes ran a 5.00). if robinson ever comes close to having a better career than mccourty, i swear ill do 100 pushups saying RoddickRocks was right.
@ryantimmins99 And thats why Spikes is not a 3 down LB and has been exposed in coverage & w/ play action. BB doesn't care about the combine? I specifically remember him saying one year that the reason they didn't draft an OLB was because there weren't a lot of 6'4 guys who ran a 4.6 to 4.7 forty. Sounds like the combine mattered there. My statement was Robinson is more raw but will be better eventually. Im not crowning McCourty a God after 12 gms. Ppl already made tht mistake w/ Cromartie in 07.
um id really like to find footage of belichick saying that. he likes a guy who is 6'4 and with decent speed to set the edge and fit in his scheme. combine has nothing to do. lets see this years picks aside from mccourty: gronkowski: did not workout, cunningham: did not workout, spikes: same, hernandez: same. like i said im not crowning devin a god, but u have to admit hes better than robinson. just do it. its so obvious.ur ego is in ur way. its ike saying mccoy is doing better than suh.
@ryantimmins99 making conclusions after 12 games. that's why you'll never be successful. so mcfadden is a bust b/c he "sucked" & was hurt? looks awesome now.
"And rookie Patrick Robinson has played like a seasoned veteran at times."
"...but Greer and Porter are healthy again and rookie Patrick Robinson has come on fast."
"Looks like Greer and Porter are healthy or close to it, but Robinson has shown he’s ready to be a very good nickel back right now and a possible starter in the future."
@RoddickRocks79 hmmmmmmmmmm damn son. still got anyting to say? aha. please its ok to admit ur wrong. Mccourty is a stud and if Ndamukong Suh wasnt around he would be uncontested DROTY. prob-bowl selection, second team all-pro. 7 interceptions. what else do u want from him?
@RoddickRocks79 HEY DUDE WANNA TAKE UR SOMMENT BACK LIKE RIGHT NOW........? ya um 6 in and could be rookie of yr get OUT!!!!!!!!!!just leave ur projections suck!
@ryantimmins99 that team lost its soul. they became a finesse, soft, unclutch, mentally weak team. they collapsed in second halfs, lost games they should've won, blew leads they never should've blown, and were PUTRID on the road. their 2nd half offense sucked. Moss played a key factor in all of that. he's a soft player, he won't go over the middle, he's one dimensional, he's not clutch, he sucked in the playoffs, and brady felt obligated to throw him the ball so Randy wouldn't pout. u r so dumb.
great pick. athletic and intelligent+ bb teaching you the ropes= pro bowls. if he turns out to be a shitty corner he will at least be a beast on st where the pats definitely need help
great value pick. will be nickelback corner 1st year and be LCB in 2nd year. Great open field tackler. great instincts. great speed and C.o.D. Kid has Ty-Law potential. very smart and has tremendous upside.
I though Jared Odrick would have been greatest need (replace Seymour), but I love the McCourty pick. Been over 10 years since N.E. picked a CB in 1st round!
I am personally glad that we didn't take an outside backer with our first round pick. Conversion linebackers have extremely high bust rates and to risk that with a first round pick would have been shortsighted, I think. Now, was McCourty the right guy? Maybe not. Kyle Wilson would have been better I think but we saw something in McCourty. Im not going to question that.
@canadayd08 just because the risk rate is high doesn't mean you should go for it if you think highly enough of a player. There is risk in every move, Adalius Thomas in free agency was a huge risk in money terms and it didn't pay off. Bill clearly didnt have a great opinion on any olbs available but if you dont take a chance on a pass rusher early its very hard to find a DeMarcus Ware type player and fix the pass rush problem
Late 1st early 2nd my ass. He had a great year. Great pick.

@RoddickRocks79 u know i have valid arguments with saints players busting. the patriots are rebuilding. dont forget when they had seymour bruschi vrabel, samuel harrison. belichick is the best coach in the league and he will make some of these guys including mccourty into stars. like u think u could do a better job than BB. all u can do is talk trash and pretend ur like a professional analyst. and the original argument was mccourty is better than robinson and thats the trutt and u know it
ryantimmins99 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 i never said that the saints were the best personnel team in the league or leaps and bounds better than the patriots in the draft. i just implied that over the last few years they've done a great job of bringing in talent and building their roster into a championship caliber team. they've drafted guys like tracy porter, sedrick ellis, carl nicks, will smith, jahri evans, malcolm jenkins (who is a promising prospect at safety contrary to your thoughts). they've also brought in a
RoddickRocks79 1 year ago
@RoddickRocks79 i dont need essays explaining ur points. but again, i have an argument. the pats have brought in wilfork, ty warren, jerod mayo, meriweather, pat chung, sebastien vollmer. every team has their hits and misses. and u say im biased. not really i can admit the pats mistakes. butler isnt very good wilhite and wheatley sucked. i just going to end the argument. best of luck to mccourty and robinson. good arguing with you. you know ur shit pretty well. peace
ryantimmins99 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 it will be interesting to see how they pan out. both should at least be decent. good discussion. Pats D looked awful today. Fitzpatrick looked like a stud. Disappointing, but a win is a win. Need this D to start improving if we are gonna go anywhere this year. Peace.
RoddickRocks79 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 (cont'd) good haul of guys through free agency and trades with guys like vilma, sharper, greer, etc. But that is neither here nor there. the argument is mccourty vs robinson. i am not saying i am "smarter" than belichick or pro scouts or anything but simply giving my opinion, just like you're giving yours. i saw both guys play a pretty decent amount, and robinson looks like he has more tools to develop into a great corner. in gregg williams scheme on D, corners are extremely
RoddickRocks79 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 (cont'd) important. they have to be able to play in man press on an island and have good ball skills. the saints obviously liked this guy so much that they took him even though they have greer and porter locked in as starters for the time being. i prefer the upside and raw talent of robinson than the safe but limited potential of mccourty. man draft "experts" called robinson the most athletically gifted corner in the draft with his great hips, closing speed, and ability to play
RoddickRocks79 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 (cont'd) press coverage and be a great corner down the line. mccourty was seen as more of a zone corner who could excel in a cover 2 scheme because he was physical in run support. robinson was compared to eric wright and mccourty to ronde barber. i personally prefer the type of corner that robinson is considered. a lot of people said the same things about vontae davis going into the 09 draft. oh he's too lazy, he doesn't play up to his potential, he has mental lapses, etc. but
RoddickRocks79 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 (cont'd) that has seemed to work out pretty outstanding for the dolphins. malcolm jenkins was considered a safer pick because vontae was "risky" due to inconsistent play in college and getting benched at one point in his career. it's pretty obvious when you watch them both play that robinson has a lot more potential. with a good coaching staff, he will likely turn into a great corner just like vontae davis has turned into for miami. butler vs davis and mccourty vs robinson. shame.
RoddickRocks79 1 year ago
@RoddickRocks79 just thought id drop by and remind you how much of a stud mccourty is turning out to be. wats that about patrick..... is it robinson?
ryantimmins99 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 sorry i don't consider a stud someone that gets beat by Harvin and luckily rips the ball out of his hands as the WR lays on the ground. that's called poor coverage with a lucky bounce of the ball warping the perception of the viewer. he's had his good moments, but he's also been chewed at times like most rookie CB's. Robinson has been starting for NO and has looked good until he got on the first series last night. glad you judge corners by fluke interceptions. LOL.
RoddickRocks79 1 year ago
@RoddickRocks79 im not talking about interceptions. mccourty well the entire game and so far the entire year. your acting as if harvin is a joke. dont fuck with me you know that ud pick mccourty over robinson. glad to see you judge corners on "starting" until they get on their first series. LOL
ryantimmins99 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 ??? i'm sorry that i don't judge a guy's career based on 7 games in his rookie season. patrick robinson has been starting and playing very well as well. i was simply stating that he got knocked out of the game on Sunday night on the first series and appeared to hurt his ankle. he's been praised for the job he's done in coverage and with the tackles he's made in run support. maybe if you weren't a blind homer, you'd actually watch and evaluate guys. footy pajama faggot. def jewish
RoddickRocks79 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 your lack of football knowledge is also prevalent because Gregg Williams' scheme is much harder for a rookie CB to step into and have immediate success. McCourty always has deep safety help and BB's defense is very conservative & at times very zone-heavy. Gregg williams comes from the buddy ryan tree - press man coverage and heavy blitzing. watch a saints game or read some blogs on how he's played before you make dumb claims. LOL at how much you think you know but really dont
RoddickRocks79 1 year ago
@RoddickRocks79 dude jsut because u said shit like press man coverage zone heavy, doesnt mean ur like mike mayock. u think bill belichick's defensive scheme is a joke? belichick's knowledge would rape gregg williams's knowledge any day. i just still cant believe that u think patrick robinson is a better player than devin mccourty. footy pajama faggot? def jewish? damn son my 4 year old cousin has better chirps. oh and jsut a side note: do u actually play football. and dont lie i wont make fun.
ryantimmins99 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 when did i ever say i was mike mayock? when did i ever say Belichick's scheme is a joke? i said gregg williams plays a much more aggressive scheme than bill belichick. the pats play a lot of zone and a lot 2 deep coverages. they drop their LB's into coverage and they don't like to blitz. williams blitzes almost as much as rex ryan and the corners have to hold up on an island quite often in man-0 coverage or with a single deep safety -- something you obviously can't comprehend
RoddickRocks79 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 those are facts -- not opinions. ask anyone that watches footbal and they will tell you that's true of the two schemes. then ask anyone which scheme is harder to step right into and have success -- it's gregg williams' scheme because you aren't always protected w/ safety help. it's comical how you have probably never watched robinson play and have seen mccourty play half of a season and deem him so great. you're a typical HOMER. i have read some of your other comments. you just

@ryantimmins99 praise anything and everything the Pats do. it's a shame that you can't be an objective viewer. have you ever seen robinson play? or do you just read bogus amateur scouting reports online and take them as facts? you are a footy pajama patriots fan -- they can do no wrong in your eyes. and yes you are a jew because only jews repeatedly try to pat themselves on the back even when they are dead wrong. you really have no clue what you're talking about
RoddickRocks79 1 year ago
@RoddickRocks79 i dont praise everythign the pats do. i disagree with 4th and 2, i disagree with always trading down in drafts, i disagree with trading moss. im just talking about mccourty and ur calling me a homer fan. and im a fsu fan u rat. ive seen robinson play. good corner by highly inconsistent. and u just made a racist joke about jews that has no relevance to our argument. u think ur like an nfl analyst cuz u can spit out some fotball jargon when uve never slipped on fb pads in ur life.
ryantimmins99 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 you're just simply not intelligent enough to understand. robinson has MORE potential and i prefer HIS SKILL SET to mccourty's. mccourty is a solid player who will be good. robinson has the potential to be great. he is a better raw talent and will develop into a better player. i don't think i'm an NFL analyst at all, but i know much more than your stupid ass. disagreeing with the moss trade is further proof that you have no idea what you are talking about!!!! moss was the reason
RoddickRocks79 1 year ago
@RoddickRocks79 its funny how ur ripping the patriots but ur forgetting the fact that they are 6-1 u queer. and thats the best record in the nfl. and u still havent responded to whether or not u actually play football or u just sit around on ur fat ass all day thinking that ur a football genius. and moss always had a saftey spying on him and obviously at 33 he wasnt as effective. its not like he was useless. seriuosly im sick or arguing... like idfc.. the pats are 6-1 and ur a queer. peaceeee
ryantimmins99 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 1. yes i have played football you dumb faggot. 2. you cannot evaluate talent. 3. that's the best team in football? cleveland destroyed them. 4. typical cliche "moss ran off the safety" -- you're not smart enough to understand coverages. 4. i couldn't care less what some homer internet herb says to me. you are wrong, have always been wrong, and will be wrong going forward. you're really a waste of oxygen. good riddance, herb.

@RoddickRocks79 i actually cant resist. truth is were all too damn competitive to let it go.w.e thats cool... smug herb... how old are u?
ryantimmins99 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 i actually respect you more for saying that we are all too competitive to let it go but still disagree with you. you're overrating a guy based on half of a season. butler looked pretty good at times in 09, and where is he? benched in favor of Arrington - an undrafted free agent from Hofstra. mccourty has made some nice plays but has gotten beat/chewed/given up big plays/gotten costly penalties much more than you will admit. its ok though, you're just not a realist
RoddickRocks79 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 pats gameplan vs steelers: bring a variety of blitzes and play press man coverage. McCourty was chewed and picked on quite often. Oh wait, isn't that what I said? That Patrick Robinson is a better press man corner? Did you see McCourty whiff on his attempt to jam Wallace at the line and give up a 20 yard gain on a slant? or does that not count? he gave up a ton of plays despite the ballwashing collinsworth gave him early on. once again, you're wrong. too homer to admit it
RoddickRocks79 1 year ago
@RoddickRocks79 im sorry. show me what robinson has done thats so goddamn spectacular. u scrutinize every single mistake he makes and hes a damn rookie. revis wasnt a stud when he first came into the league. seriously fuck this argument. saying that u like patrick robinson more as a prospect that mccourty is saying that u know more than bill belichick. which u dont cuz hes clearly one of the best to ever put on a headset. call me a homer, uve done it 1000 times idfc. bottomline: pats=7-2
ryantimmins99 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 saying that i like robinson more doesn't mean that i think i know more than belichick. i'm not a smug faggot like you. i didn't know people weren't allowed to have opinions. my problem with people like you is you don't know how to analyze anything correctly. mccourty gets beat on a route by harvin and as harvin is falling down he knocks the ball up into the air -- and that's a GREAT play according to you, ignoring the fact that he got smoked in coverage. you're too emotional. soft
RoddickRocks79 1 year ago
when did i EVER say that the harvin play was good. ur actually stupid. i think mccourty is better than robinson. "i didnt know people werent allowed to have opinions." ur "smug faggot" im emotionally soft? fuck u, ur comments make me believe that ur no more than ten years old. seriously how old are u? ur putting words in my mouth i never said that the harvin play was great u rat liar. i just said that hes playing well this season and all u can argue is some plays that he gave up some plays
ryantimmins99 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 you came on here after the minnesota game bragging about how great mccourty played. he did relatively nothing all game and Arrington was used to cover Moss for most of the game. McCourty was assigned to cover Harvin on most plays. Harvin had 104 yards and toasted McCourty over the middle quite often. I don't know how you could possibly come on here after that and brag about how great McCourty is. The only way you would -- seeing his "interception" (which was more of a strip) and
RoddickRocks79 1 year ago
@RoddickRocks79 dude wallace got all his plays in garbage time. roethlisberger had more passing yards than brady, does that mean he had a beter game? no because he got most of them in garbage time when players are playing half ass. k fuck this argument, get back to me when patrick robinson does something relevant in the nfl.
ryantimmins99 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 i didn't know that only a portion of the 60 minutes count. what a joke. you want to take out the plays he did poorly on and keep the plays he did well on just because the Pats had a lead late in the game? last time i checked, they play 60 minutes. i guess brady's last TD doesn't count b/c it was garbage time. mccourty gave up plays both early and late. you know i'm right about the minnesota game too, so you have no way to defend yourself. bum
RoddickRocks79 1 year ago
@RoddickRocks79 what???? im not letting this argument go, u call me a homer fan when u still cant admit that mccourty is FLAT OUT better than robinson. admit it for fucks sake u have to comeback. but no i guess ur only compeback will be maybe a couple of completions he gave up. i guess that pick last night didnt count cuz it was sanchez. and that pick probably didnt count against calvin right?im not jsut talking picks. for the most part qbs avoid throwing in his direction. wake the fuck up.
ryantimmins99 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 i never said that mccourty sucked; that is something that YOU CREATED. my whole original point was that I PREFER the type of corner Patrick Robinson is and think he will go on to have the better career. mccourty has played well recently but he is simply being overrated due to his interception numbers. people are already touting him as a shutdown CB. the reason teams don't throw at him is because arrington & butler are so putrid. when thrown at he has still given up big plays.
RoddickRocks79 1 year ago
@RoddickRocks79 i give u thumbs up for being stupid omg r u dumb he a fucking shutdown corner and he a rookie o ya he has like 60 tackles WAT A MAN
Aggies4lifedog 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 butler looked pretty good last year too. he's blown this year. mccourty has played well at times and has looked below average at times. he's been overrated due to his INT numbers. on some of them he's made nice plays, on some of them the ball has hit him right in the chest (peyton manning) and on some he's been roasted and gotten a lucky bounce of the ball (harvin).
RoddickRocks79 1 year ago
@RoddickRocks79 dude just leace ur stupid o he totally stripped that ball from harvin
Aggies4lifedog 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 using your amateur analysis to say he's been playing so well this season. why else would you come on here and brag about McCourty vs Minnesota? Harvin got the better of him for most of the day. McCourty had a few decent plays here and there, but it was not one of his better performances. Mike Wallace also roasted him often in the Pitt game. Try to be objective and try to actually analyze the play of a guy before making dumb accusations.
RoddickRocks79 1 year ago
@RoddickRocks79 stop writing like 4 comments everytime im not reading them all. oh yeah my amateur analysis? oh like ur a fucking pro. i neverm said that u said mccourty sucked. never. but the fact that ur still not willing to admit that hes a better player than robinson? thats just pathetic and shows ur ridiculous ego. and butler was not nearly as good as mccourty this year. not even close. the only argument u have is listing like a few of his mistakes. i could be here all day ripping robinson
ryantimmins99 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 i just said mccourty is currently playing WELL. yes, he has played better than robinson mainly because robinson A) is playing behind two very good corners in Greer and Porter and B) Missed a few weeks with an ankle sprain. when Robinson has played, he's been praised for his play. i never said that i was a pro or that i was better than BB. i simply just stated my opinion - which is legal btw - that i think robinson has more potetial & will have a better career. u then attacked me.
RoddickRocks79 1 year ago
@RoddickRocks79 im sorry did i hurt your feelings? i attacked you? what are u 8 years old. please dont tell on me. when robinson has played hes been praised? what games were u watching. hes been consistently beat and hasnt done anythign in run support. this was ur initial comment: "overdrafted due to combine rise" BB doesnt give a shit about combine (spikes ran a 5.00). if robinson ever comes close to having a better career than mccourty, i swear ill do 100 pushups saying RoddickRocks was right.
ryantimmins99 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 And thats why Spikes is not a 3 down LB and has been exposed in coverage & w/ play action. BB doesn't care about the combine? I specifically remember him saying one year that the reason they didn't draft an OLB was because there weren't a lot of 6'4 guys who ran a 4.6 to 4.7 forty. Sounds like the combine mattered there. My statement was Robinson is more raw but will be better eventually. Im not crowning McCourty a God after 12 gms. Ppl already made tht mistake w/ Cromartie in 07.
RoddickRocks79 1 year ago
um id really like to find footage of belichick saying that. he likes a guy who is 6'4 and with decent speed to set the edge and fit in his scheme. combine has nothing to do. lets see this years picks aside from mccourty: gronkowski: did not workout, cunningham: did not workout, spikes: same, hernandez: same. like i said im not crowning devin a god, but u have to admit hes better than robinson. just do it. its so obvious.ur ego is in ur way. its ike saying mccoy is doing better than suh.
ryantimmins99 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 making conclusions after 12 games. that's why you'll never be successful. so mcfadden is a bust b/c he "sucked" & was hurt? looks awesome now.
"And rookie Patrick Robinson has played like a seasoned veteran at times."
"...but Greer and Porter are healthy again and rookie Patrick Robinson has come on fast."
"Looks like Greer and Porter are healthy or close to it, but Robinson has shown he’s ready to be a very good nickel back right now and a possible starter in the future."
RoddickRocks79 1 year ago
@RoddickRocks79 hmmmmmmmmmm damn son. still got anyting to say? aha. please its ok to admit ur wrong. Mccourty is a stud and if Ndamukong Suh wasnt around he would be uncontested DROTY. prob-bowl selection, second team all-pro. 7 interceptions. what else do u want from him?

Aggies4lifedog 1 year ago
@ryantimmins99 that team lost its soul. they became a finesse, soft, unclutch, mentally weak team. they collapsed in second halfs, lost games they should've won, blew leads they never should've blown, and were PUTRID on the road. their 2nd half offense sucked. Moss played a key factor in all of that. he's a soft player, he won't go over the middle, he's one dimensional, he's not clutch, he sucked in the playoffs, and brady felt obligated to throw him the ball so Randy wouldn't pout. u r so dumb.

great value pick. will be nickelback corner 1st year and be LCB in 2nd year. Great open field tackler. great instincts. great speed and C.o.D. Kid has Ty-Law potential. very smart and has tremendous upside.
I though Jared Odrick would have been greatest need (replace Seymour), but I love the McCourty pick. Been over 10 years since N.E. picked a CB in 1st round!
rachellestephens 1 year ago
I am personally glad that we didn't take an outside backer with our first round pick. Conversion linebackers have extremely high bust rates and to risk that with a first round pick would have been shortsighted, I think. Now, was McCourty the right guy? Maybe not. Kyle Wilson would have been better I think but we saw something in McCourty. Im not going to question that.
canadayd08 1 year ago
@canadayd08 just because the risk rate is high doesn't mean you should go for it if you think highly enough of a player. There is risk in every move, Adalius Thomas in free agency was a huge risk in money terms and it didn't pay off. Bill clearly didnt have a great opinion on any olbs available but if you dont take a chance on a pass rusher early its very hard to find a DeMarcus Ware type player and fix the pass rush problem
