That had to be the worst anemic dog ever. Poor poodle. My dogs are on Interceptor & Frontline. I also treat my house professionally every 3 months (just in case) and I treat my yard with a spray every 6 months. Wouldn't it have been better to have used Capstar on this dog prior to the bath?

I spray my yard with flea killing insecticide, our dog lives inside mostly, and she gets a regular bath. No fleas anywhere.

She went outside once during the summer and within three days she was covered with fleas.

You just can't stop the stupid things.

I think it is unfair to blame the owner without knowing the circumstances.

I find Hartz ultraguard shampoo kills all fleas instantly.

I think those fleas on the video dog had developed an immunity to common flea killers.

@pompow3 Not always is the owners fault, 3 months ago I had a dog with a huge flea problem, it was because an un precedented flea infestion in the hood, had to clean every inch of my backyard and my doggie, took me HOURS to eliminate the fleas, specially from my dog, but at the end every was just fine.

Use Frontline or PetArmor on your dog. It kills fleas for up to 3 months. If you apply it in late fall / winter, it will last until spring.

BETTER THAN EVER! I have a cat I love very much, and she hates to be brushed,but it has to done,to keep throwing up fur and I am as gentle as possible but she still growls a lot and tries to get away, but 15 mins later she's fine! I am sorry I am not being nasty but that animal could have been handled less agressively .. while some may believe talking to the animal creates a conditioned response I do not, conditioning takes repeative exposure in most cases to a stimuli and response. it is great the dog got help I just think it could have been done a little differently if I handled an animal like that in my vet clinic I would be uin huge trouble.

I watched the video and she is NOT pulling any hair but instead she is using her hand to lift the dog's head up as she washes the animal. Her hand is even turned downwards. Please watch the video correctly before making negative comments. I am just happy she was able to offer this dog assistance as opposed to turning the animal away so she is pretty far from heartless. Most people would be too disgusted to even touch this animal.

I am a groomer n would NEVER handle a dog like this. He's already stressed n ur spraying that jet of water in his eyes/nose! Spraying water in a dog's nose can cause atelectasis, pulmonary edema, pneumonia bc water up the nose is going directly into his lungs n can mimic near drowing! N r u holding him by his beard? Holding a dog by the hair is analogous with pulling a child's ear - painful! Ur either heartless or uneducated and clients should take rethink ur svcs - disgraceful.

I always take some tweezers and go through my cats fur, and when i see one of those horrible waste of creation called fleas, i crush it with the tweezers. you can tell when you get the flea because you hear a little *POP!* and then the cats remove it from their fur when they clean themselves. I wonder why things like fleas,lice, ticks ect were created when they serve no purpose at all.

Pets often get distressed during grooming and there's not really much you can do but get it over with quickly as possible, since they most often won't be happy 'till its all over and they're left unmolested. Its a necessary evil for their health though, otherwise problems like fleas, hotspots and matts (tangled clumps of hair) pop up. Also that stuff she's rinsing out is technically flea dirt a.k.a. their feces. It was blood once, until those disgusting lil' parasites sucked it out of the dog.

My poor cat got almost as bad as this when i was away but had my grandmother watch the place and brought her own cat. Little did i know HER cat was the initially infested one and after about a week my poor guy caught them too. Thought a simple shoulder blade medicine after a good bath would do the trick... nope. Whole house had to be flea bombed for the next month to get rid of the problem once and for all. Luckily neighbors were very understanding and kept him there till they were gone.
