the guy in the white looks a bit afraid to fight because he doesn't lunge in his strikes as much as the guy in black does,those are one-handded why is he have two on there is he losing his grip or is he just tired.it was a good video and watching it helped me learn some new strikes,i never had a teacher just me and my little brother just hacking welts with blunted rapiers.

A few years ago i made me and my sister each a crude (very crude) sword out of scrap metal, with the intention that she would always be on the offensive to improve my reflexes (she was too 'ickle to attack). I would suggest not using steel. With the way you fight, even though you are just attacking eachother's blades, it creates a reserve instinct. You slow your strikes. If you were to use a padded or practice medium, you don't have to pull your strikes and can actually improve.

Oh, and do not ever use two hands on a sword with that small of a hilt. The idea of a two handed sword in maneuverability and control. This comes from keeping your hands about 4 to 6 inches apart.

Hard to tell from the video - you guys trained on the basic fives or basic eights? (For those not familiar with re-enactment, this refers to the number of zones considered "legal" to aim for in show fighting. The zones influence the style of fighting that develops, for obvious reasons.)

Every 4th or 5th swing is useless, as it wouldn't reach the opponents body even if he stand still. So many times they are just hiting the each others sword to make a noise. That is far from good.

I'd say it was legit... but you're too slow because you're using steel... Make boffers, then you can go all out. Look at some of my videos, it can be fun... You can go full speed, they DO pack a wallop so you have to be careful, but not THAT careful.

you two seem to have an idea of what your doing, but you are way to tentative and are using a bell guarded rapier which traditionally has no edge on it, so even if you do hit like you are trying to, you won't cut. Another thing, in order to better hit your enemy you would benefit from longer blades, or actually moving your feet more on the lung to get closer to better the chances of your opponent not being able to backstep and get out of range to avoid a
