  • is truly heart felt song and a moving one truly great song

  • I was 20' back and dead center stage in KC, I will never forget it. but hey, No Gary, No REO.

  • There was a fire on one of the rafters during this song. Watch Gary point it out (1:31), then see the audience try to get the bands attention (1:45). Then watch as the embers fall onto the crowd(2:22). BTW the best version of this song!

  • This is a fine version, for sure. But "best version?" No, sir. No, ma'am. Here is the best version: youtube.com/watch?v=eGgLPriZUSA

  • yes...it IS the best version...no doubt!!!!

  • Sounds good and all but it just seams old rockers shit slows down with age ......get the lead outta your ass and play it like you did when you were young........the reason we liked you in the first place ........just sayin:)

  • Thanks Lance9772 it's nice when someone agrees with you. I'd love to meet old KC but there's not much chance of that I doubt they will ever play in England again . But if I ever win the euro millions lottery I would hire them to play at my party. I might even contact you to arrange it for me. Well it's nice to dream sometimes but that ain't going to happen. Anyway thanks again good luck to you

  • Did you know they actually played a high school, prom? 1970 or 71 at Jefferson High Lafayettte IN

  • I've just watched 157 riverside avenue posted by matter valley and I have to say Gary's guitaring was fantastic so credit where it's due but then I've never said Dave Amato was better just Reo can still sound good without Gary and its Kevin who's irreplaceable

  • @Carpetlay1 I couldn't have said it better myself, and i have posted similar comments for various other Reo videos.I have chilled with Kevin and the crew plenty of times, and believe me Kevin knows what an amazin guitarist Gary is,and gives Gary all the credit in the world for seein the talent in him that nobody else did.He loves Gary, but he also knows that the split between them was inevitable and unavoidable

  • Thanks Clewi1091 for your message. I only heard Reo in 1981 keep on loving was released in The UK. It was Kevin's voice that drew me.I do have all their albums though. So I regard myself a proper fan. I've seen them 4 times 2 with Gary and Alan and 2 with Bryan and Dave. Apart from Bryan's drumming being much more powerful, i can't tell the difference.

  • To all those that keep going on about Gary we're not talking about David Gilmore here.If it wasn't for Kevin Cronin he wouldn't have a pot to piss in maybe he is better than Dave

But the drummer Bryan is in a different league to Alan. The only thing about Reo speedwagon that isn't as good is old KC's voice but that's because he's older. You all need to remember who wrote all those hits.Save Take it on the run.So not a bad guitarist yes but not the main man in the band and not one of the best g

  • @Carpetlay1 What drew me to REO at first was Garys guitar playing. It was different than most everyone else to me for some reason. He had a style that I liked. Gary wrote songs that put REO on the map before Kevin showed up. Ridin the Storm Out, and Golden Country just to name a couple. Those were big songs, and still are. He also wrote several hits after Kevin joined. Dont get me wrong, I like REO with Kevin. But I wouldnt put all of my REO Speedwagon apples in his basket.

  • rory gallagher does him & ritchratch could have owned the world

  • To me, this will always be THE Reo line-up, with Alan and Gary. Good times.

  • I was a country boy, rock roller. I rowed rock, up stream and wore the storm out. Welcome home, but you can never leave. Not that you ever did.

  • This is back when Kevin's voice was in the best shape ever, and he sings his balls off in this song. Watch Gary at the end of his second solo...he turns to each of his band mates and acknowledges/smiles at them, as if saying, "Isn't this a blast?" I saw the Wheels are Turnin' tour twice, and Gary was AMAZING.

  • You see, Kids? Live music with NO lip-synching, no choreographed dance routines, no pre-recorded instrumental tracks, and NO AUTO TUNE SOFTWARE.

This is raw talent. Rock and Roll at its' purest and most splendid. THANK YOU Kevin, Gary, Alan, Neal, and Bruce!!!

  • Man Gary can make that guitar scream! What a great guitar player and an awesome band!!!

  • @TWA717 Gary also could talk with his guitar...listen to KC tell the coitus interruptus story some time

  • Awesome stuff!

  • I had given up on ever seeing this clip again after losing the tape I had of it. Thank you jpf for posting this.

  • This is the BEST live REO video I've ever seen. I love how they started this song off so differently. I wish they would have recorded it this way or have this version on one of their live albums. Kevin is flawless and totally adorable. Can't get enough of this gun show!! ; )

  • Agreed,best version on Youtube!!

  • KEVIN CRONINS VOICE IS FLAWLESS,AND I AM SOOOO HONORED TO HAVE PERSONALLY TOLD HIM SO ON MANY OCCASIONS.KEEP ON ROLLIN YOUR DAMN SELF MY FRIEND

  • I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this version of this song. Love REO. I have this video on a VHS but don't know how to get it on my computer so thanks a bunch for putting this on here. Great visual, even better than on my VHS.

    Keep on Rollin!

  • I love this version. Just as great as the original.

  • thats how ya dooooo it!!!!....(2 all the 2000 class)

  • Great Version

  • love Gary's subtle guitar licks during the organ solo

  • I agree...this is the best version of this song! The acoustic start (with Bruce's bass in the background) is beautiful...and then to go into the rockin' version...YESSSS!

  • Best version ever!!!
