  • Nice bike enjoy be as safe as possible, I rode a harley SPORTSTER from sw mo to sturgis sd in 22 hrs strait 1050 miles talk about an iron butt, ouch !!!

  • I had the GS1000e Back in High School, new in 1978.. used to run it at the I-44 Speedway out of St.Louis MO. had a J&R tuned Header System yadda yadda... thanks for posting this and bringing back a few memories... I also made it from St. Louis, MO to Indian Head, Maryland in a day! that's 1000 miles :}

  • Holy crap!! Now that's dedication.....

  • I did the math when I got there... averaged 86 mph including gas/pit stops. Not one ticket :} Do you remember the coast to coast run they used to have?

  • Well, I have an uncle that used to run some of those "Iron Butt" rallies back in the 70 & 80's.....not me though....I never rode my bike more than 150 miles at a time.

  • i got my little 600 to 160, that was a rush. I could never do it again

  • so how much power you running then

  • Good luck as well, streamlined that thing should top at least 200 just don't do it with a breeze. All in the gearing, the stuff you can't test at home.

  • When I rode that bike, it sounded much quieter... good luck on the speed attempt!
