You're 20 years old. How could you possible form an opinion regarding the MP5 vs P90 in a tactical situation? You've never been into combat with either weapon systems so how exactly did you deduce your "tactical" experience?
@Swoop223 I based my opinion off of fact and from what I have seen and read from reviews, that is all. Also it's just simply my opinion and nothing more. I hope you enjoyed the video. BTW I have shot real guns before but not an MP5 or P90 which I wish I had.
I love anything to do with sci fi more so the stargate series reasons I feel it's more down to earth they involve real life situations, the science is real or explained in a way that plausible and the people of the tari's weapons are effective and feared. Bottom line is I ain't desin your vid or SG, SGA or SGU just pisses me off that they use extra loud n flashy blanks for added effect and don't show the true results of the sweet Arsenal of weapons used. By the way who isn't a SG fun and if so
@TheLycan01 What the crap are you talking about, most of the info is here! There is actual footage of it being demonstrated in this video besides the parts taken from Stargate, btw I'm a Stargate fan if you didn't realize.
@mitra32203 I know what dragon skin is and I know that it failed the temperature testing as well as other tests when the US Army was testing it out. But about the 5.7x28mm armor piercing round, I actually don't know if it could or not but im pretty sure it could go through at least halfway but thats just me guessing. Other than the failed tests it had, it most certainly protected the user from tons of bullets.
@mitra32203 no way. Dragon Skin is stopping it with no problem. As well as it stops everything up to 7.62x51 with high reliability multiple times at the same spot. The Dragonskin design is the most incredible bodyarmor on the planet available until today.
@0172shane Yea, I guess that flashlight was not properly atached to the side railing lol. Looks like they did not want to retake that scene just for a flashlight that fell off.
@BubbleTea40 People call it the "Carter Special" Micro Carbine. Here is a description in more detail taken off from imfdb stargate weapons list, it "appears to be a customized Olympic Arms K23B with a short 7" barrel, aftermarket quadruple-rail SOPMOD accessory forend, and a modified thumb-hole stock taken from a Sterling AR-180 rifle. It is used with an ELCAN sight and a Beta drum mag with a mounted vertical foregrip and a side-mounted flashlight on the accessory rail."
P90 is greatest weapon for dealing with enemies wearing ballistic vests or helmets, although stopping power is low (calibre is too small to damage flesh seriously). But lower stopping power is compensated with high rate of fire - one bulllet didn't stop the target? long burst will finish it!
P90 is great for CQB warfare, thus ideal for counter-terrorist units operating in urban areas, but I think that for military use, the assault rifles are better.
@RayPall Of course assault rifles would be the choice for field operations but in a tactical CQB situation, in my opinion the P90 should be fit for military use seeing that it is one of the best submachine guns next to the MP7 and Kriss SuperV.
@RayPall Also, about the part where you said the P90 caliber (5.7x28mm) is too small to damage flesh, any bullet can penetrate through flesh duh! Well, depening on how far away the target is. You could try to find a video about the 5.7x28mm bullet shooting through ballistic gel to see how far it can penetrate through the gel to determine its stopping power.
@Recon911PDW I meant that small-calibre bullet like 5,7 mm or 5,56 mm just penetrate. If you get hit by for example bullet from M4, it will just fly through you and make "only" small hole. When you get hit by 7,62 mm round from AK-47, it will not only penetrate the flesh, but it will tear the flesh apart. Lungs hit by M4 have only hole in them, lungs hit by AK are torn.
@RayPall Wrong. SS190 have the characteristic of inflict huge damage in soft techies, like muscles. It tumbles inside the body and, because of that, all the energy is transfer to the body, with a huge stoping power. Another benefit of that it is that the round will not exit the body, hitting an innocent behind the treat.
This characteristics are the same as the 4,6mm of the MP7.
The P90 is over rated. The round isn't good for stopping power, even if it is armor piercing you're going to need to shoot them more than you really need to. HK UMP45 or the Kriss/Vektor are the way to go.
@spartan5811 Actually the P90 is quite popular, It is made to spray your enemies away with ease, id take my chances with a P90 any day and here are the reasons why, #1. Decent ROF P90 (900rpm) vs. UMP45 (650rpm) and Kriss SuperV (1000rpm)(little too fast) #2. Better effective range P90 (5.7x28mm) (200m) vs UMP45 (50m)(.45ACP) and Kriss SuperV (100m)(.45ACP) #3. More ammunation per standard magazine, P90 (50 rounds) vs UMP45 (25 rounds) and Kriss SuperV (30 rounds).
@Recon911PDW I've shot the PS90, and the UMP45 civilian carbine [USC] and the PS90 costs way too much, the ammo is way too much and to say that the 5.7 can go to 200m is incredibly optimistic, and the .45ACP has actually been proven to out to 100m compensating drop and a still have enough kinetic energy to easily be a kill. The P90 has a 50 round mag because you're gonna need quite a lot of that ammo to drop one person.
@Recon911PDW Just for clarification, 200m effective range is incredibly optimistic that is. It's a pistol cartridge, underpowered and over rated. That's it.
@A9900960 Well you could go to a gun show or order one online but the thing is, you wont be able to buy a fully automatic P90. You can only legally own a PS90 civilian version of the P90 which is only single shot. I think they cost around $1400-$1800 and you get buy 50 round mags of 5.7x28mm non armor piercing rounds.
@misterzeerow Besides the original P90 promo video, most of the sengments are from Stargate Atlantis and the other one is from Stargate SG-1 when they are using the P90.
