  • The only Cinderella movie worth watching.

  • giraffe neck,..hehe

  • Honestly if I had the voice, and I were able to have an opportunity to sing with anybody in a duet this song would definitely be on the list of choices.

  • this is a classic

  • I loved this version as a little girl (being it came out when I was 4,) but the Brandi version was wonderful, too!!! When it came out (the brandi version,) I thought, "Oh no!!! It will ruin my memories of the perfect version with Lesley Ann Warren," so I didn't want to watch it. But BOTH versions are wonderful in their own way. I'm sure older people who loved Julie Andrew's earlier version would also say the same thing about how THAT one was their favorite!

  • Love this.."I may never come down to earth again."

  • Classic.

  • Chills. Thanks

  • Oh my gosh, I watched this every year when I was a kid...but never realized that the Prince "grew up" to be Dr. Alan Quartermaine who I (much later) watched for years on the "General Hospital" soap opera!! I recognized him right away from this clip now and doublechecked on Wiki to make sure I was right! Hahahaha my mom will laugh so hard when I tell her!

  • AuroraGreenleaf -- Lesley Ann Warren was 19 when she played this role. Too mature???

  • I have to sing the first two minutes of this song for my audition for Cinderella Enchanted at my school. ^_^

  • As a young girl, I used to watch this every year. There were no videos so if you missed the once-a-year airing, you were out of luck.

  • This was filmed with a potatoe

  • I performed in this version for a children's theater troupe while I was in high school and it enchanted me for the rest of my life. I played the foppy tailor who appears in the court of the king and queen while they prepare for the ball. it was magical.

  • @LastChanceLife I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN. I REMEMBER THIS SONG FROM OVER 2 DECADES AGO. Braille students did a musical. No acting just each song told a love story. I came to rehersals.

Ten minutes ago I saw U& we murmured our how do U dos...

In the arms of our love we are flying over mountains & meadows & glen.

& we like it so well that for all we could tell we may never come down again.

We may never come down to earth again. They did it as a 1 chorus duet. Short & sweet. repeatsDull impact.

  • There is not a song from this musical i do not love...i am surprised it is relatively so little produced.

  • The Disney/Brandy version, crazy as it was, was definitely better. This is strangely underlit and the actors are too mature to play such young characters. But I would like to see more of this version anyway.

  • dang youtube for taking the full movie off! i hope it gets reposted again!

  • I love this movie. We have this on tape. My Aunt watches this everyday.

  • Brandy's was better

  • The Brandy version sucked. Julie & Lesley Ann are the true Cinderellas!

  • I grew up watching this -- love it! Stuart went on to be a doctor on General Hospital -- I find it sad that he never sang again because he has such a beautiful voice. This version of Cinderella will always be the best for me...

  • I tried out for this play(: i find out who i am on wednesday. Im sooo impatient!!

  • @xXBayleeMXx I hope you got the part you wanted! :D

  • @starstruck13 i wanted too be Portia.. but i ended up as a townsperson and ensemble :(

The cast list was picked by favorites.

  • Thank you so much for sharing this on youtube. When I was little, this was my favorite show, favorite song...just as beautiful today as it was way back when.

  • this is my favourite version. I used to watch this growing up and I'm only 21 :) It really does remind me of a real prince and princess and not too glamorous, but just right :)

  • Remember seeing this as a Hallmark special on Valentines day '66, I was 9.

  • My generation grew up with the film. It was played annually and I just loved Stuart Damon and Lesley Ann Warren. The newer version is terrible!!!! Much to PC for my taste.

  • :)

  • This is seriously one of my favourite movies EVER<333 Me and my mom break into this song so much it's not even funny<33333

  • DO YOU HAVE THE WHOLE FILM?

  • i like the newer version better

  • This is the best musical/movie ever. I watched it every year with my younger sisters! I've been looking for it for years, I had forgotten who it was done by. I'm So happy to have found this, the memories come flooding back!!!

  • I remember watching this movie every year when I was a girl. I was wrong about the male lead, happy to finally see a clip. I think I could sing almost every song from this movie today, I Loved this one and it will remain in my heart for a very long time! I hope I can find a copy to show my grand daughters!!! Reading on... I found out that I was correct about the male lead, I just didn't know Alan's REAL name!!

  • i saw this when i was a little girl...im 22 about to be 23 now but i still remember my daddy dancing with me on his feet to this song...thank you for posting this...it brought back the most wonderful memories!

  • I saw this when it was first broadcast. I think I've seen it maybe 3 times in my whole life, and I'm 54 now. Do you know? I have almost all the lyrics of all the songs memorized? I was singing this in my yard this evening, and decided to look it up, to refresh my memory of the last lyrics. THANKS!

  • I watched this on VHS when I was very little. Thank you :)

  • Best casts ever played. They look like real prince and princess

  • I LOVE this movie! This is the best Cinderella ever made! I still can't believe that Stuart Damon, the prince, in this movie is the same Stuart Damon that plays Alan on General Hospital

  • Never found my Prince, did you?

  • I adore this version of the movie. So many people forget that the Brandy version is a remake of an understated classic. Thumbs up if you agree.

  • @NekoKiku this is a remake as well.

  • I loved this when I was little. Still do! Cinderella always seemed deranged to me in this. I like it.

  • @BlankParty Doesn't she just!

  • Omgosh I haven't seen this since my childhood!! Id love for my children to watch it with me but kids of today have hardly any attention span this is quality! I wish they still made enchanting entertainment like this today!

  • OhMyGosh, thank you for posting this!! Wonderful memories!! :-)

  • This is the best musical of Rodger's and Hammerstein's movies,Thumbs up if u agree!

  • @lilbl6 OKLAHOMA!!!!!!

  • @stcsinger7 No not even close!

  • @lilbl6 No question about it! This telecast was a family tradition until they stopped showing it. Then years passed and we sang all of the songs every chance we got. I think it's the most perfect musical ever. Simple, classic, and tunes that will live on for a long time.

And I am still in love with Lesley Ann Warren since the first telecast! :)

  • Does anybody have like a full version of the whole movie to put on youtube? i watched this movie when i was a little girl and i loveedddd it (still do!)

  • @KittyHypnotizer94 I have the movie in a video tape. But i've no way to put it online. Also, its quality is awful... I've seen it so many times... :)

  • @lianne116 I'm trying to find it on DVD

  • @itsmegp46 its out there its just realy expensive(at least for me)

  • @bethy1982 If I find it reasonably priced, would you like me to let you know?

  • @bethy1982

Check Videouniverse--I just ordered it for $14.95 plus $4.95 shipping :)

  • never have i before realized the importance of brasses

  • My very favorite is the Julie Andrews version...but this comes pretty close to that. And I certainly like it better than the 90s version!

  • This is my favorite musical. I have many childhood memories watching this. Perfect TV for children. I know every song on this sound track.

  • i love this song i love the movie it is really awesome

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you...SO lovely. I remember watching this as a true "child of the 60's." And Leslie Ann IS Cinderella :)

  • I've only seen the 90's version of this. But I definetly like this version of this song better.

  • This is my favorite version of "Cinderella"! Brings back so many childhood memories, my mom and I used to watch this together on Saturday nights. This prince was so charming and handsome, and Lesli Ann Warren is so cute, and made a wonderful Cinderella.

  • @constitutionalgirl The price is Alan Quartermaine from General Hospital! I didn't know this until years after the fact!!

  • this was one of my fave movies when i was little!! brings back memories. i remember watching it on vhs all the time at my babysitter's house.

  • somuchwhatever, Thanks so much for posting this, what I call "t.v. when t.v. meant something". I loved it when CBS used to run these specials, and couldn't wait for the next one to come. Great memories indeed.

  • omg at my school were doing this as a play and using this song. :) i can't wait to sing this for auditions :)

  • Hm...this one is good but I still prefer the newer version. Both of the actresses are amazing! I've only seen the one with Brandy and Bernadette Peters.

  • ...Check out the size of Stuart Damon's hands when he's holding Leslie's hands. Bear paws!

  • omigosh! i watched this movie all the time when i was little. i loved it! the song i remember most is "ten minutes ago" and i kept thinking when i was little, "Ugh! when is this song going to be OVER?" i love it now

  • Lesley is soooo lucky!

  • only 1 of the best musicals EVER!...Watched it everytime it came on when I was a kid.....know every song! thanks for sharing.....such a great memory! and music!

  • Out of all the Cinderella movies and stories this is my favorite, its fantastic

  • Love,Love,Love it!!!!!! Loved this movie as a child, and it still makes my heart flutter!

  • Ah, my childhood memories! I was obsessed with this movie! My poor parents had to watch it over and over again.

  • @Abbyvikin - I remember that Nurse's ball on GH -- the women cascading down the staircase then dancing with Mr. Damon. I remember thinking .. do others know the signifigance of of Him singing this song ?? It was a beautiful moment, & I'm glad others felt it too.

  • Abbyvicki - NO, I never saw that! I wonder if I can find a clip of that on this site. How wonderful to see him sing that once again, especially years later & to Monica. What a thrill to see that I bet! Thanks! Wish me luck that I can find the clip! If not, I've got a great imagination & can just picture him singing it to her! Thanks again! :oD

  • this is my favorite version for sure. T Y for posting this!

  • i know for certain i have never seen this version of cinderella but im certain i have heard this song before.... :/

  • I love this. Have since I was a kid...beautiful acting and the songs are magnificent. I am just enchanted with this. It's so lovely.

  • Best version EVER.

  • I always wondered why they do not show this version of cinderella anymore. I use to wait every year for this to come on tv when I was a little girl. It was my first introduction to a live musical on tv. I remember always fantanzing about being cinderella.

Thank goodness for videos and youtube. I can now enjoy this version again. I'm 53yrs old now. I still get chills watching this. I have ordered a copy to show my neices. I know they will enjoy it as much as I did so many years ago.

  • @jacksonlou57 You get chills? I still get them when I see this version. This is my favorite version out of all of them. I'm 51 now. I first saw this in 1965 on CBS as a 6-year-old recovering from the mumps. My mom rolled in the black & white TV in my room and all of a sudden "The room had no ceiling or floor." I loved it back then, and I love it even more now.

  • @reneecalling We're the same age - I agree 100% with your post! I've seen so many versions of this story since 1965 & none, I mean NONE can compare! Just love it!

  • @sweetiepie1959 You are so right. PBS aired the 1957 version a few years ago w/Julie Andrews. She was wonderful, but Leslie Anne Warren embodied the role. I loved Stuart Damon too. They were just perfect together. I think the DVD to both versions are available on websites like Amazon.

  • @reneecalling I agree again with you. I think it was Leslie's debut as an actress. They made such a wonderful couple. One of my favorite scenes is in the beginning when the prince rides in & she offers him a drink of water & later when she's alone at the ball with him repeats You're Most Kindly Welcome, I just melt! To this day I always offer my honey when he visits a bottle of water & when he tells me thank you, of course I tell him, "You're Most Kindly Welcome"! I got the DVD - Thanks!

  • @sweetiepie1959 Yep, I can't believe how much in love I am with this show after all these years. I have the CD. I'll order the DVD soon. Yes, I remember too that it was her debut. She was 19 years old. I love her dress and the crown she work, and she had the most beautiful graceful swan-like neck. Things like that you don't forget. Next thing I knew she was on Mission Impossible, the TV series in the early 70s.

  • @reneecalling Same with me! she was perfect for the part so was Stuart. When I found out he was on a soap called One Life to Live, I agree with you too on Leslie's neck, perfect for that beautiful dress. Whoever did the casting for that musical really knew what they were doing, such a magical cast! I've tried many times & NEVER can get myself NOT TO CRY when they are singing 10 Minutes ago I saw you & Do I love you because your wonderful, Rogers & Hammerstein are the best!

  • @sweetiepie1959 : ) Stuart was on General Hospital for many years in the role of Alan Quartermaine, Sr., the ruthless, womanizing, drug addicted doctor, whom GH later fired Damon and wrote him out of the show, by having Alan suffer a heart attack and die only to later come back as a ghost to haunt his sister Tracy. lol! It really got just plain silly at times. This year he's supposed to play a governor on Days Of Our Lives.

  • @reneecalling Very Interesting! Thanks for the info. I used to watch GH about 15 yrs ago, haven't in a while. Seems when I catch a show, always someone new playing a certain character that I liked. Just not the same without the original case member.

  • @sweetiepie1959 I just got your friendly invitation. Welcome aboard. Getting back to GH., like you I haven't seen the show for a long time, but somehow I still get wind of it. And you're right again, It's not the same with these new people on. For awhile I got so stuck on soaps from the 70s on until the 1994 I believe. I just had to get off of the soap opera "merry-go-round." That's my phrase for that situation.

  • Wow wow wow I forgot all about this song AND version. I have goosebumps everywhere.

  • Man I love this song and movie

  • my mom and i are sooo happy to find this!

  • OMG.....I can't believe I found this......I loved this movie and the music...it's corny but classic and I love it<3

  • Aww I Love This Moviee ♥ Haha (:

  • i miss the days where Cinderella was brunette and not blond

  • This was a life changing moment for as a Little girl

It was my first introduction live musical performance's

  • love this so much just brings back my childhood memories of wanting to be CINDERELLA AND YET AS I AM GROWN I FIND IAM HER IN SO MANY WAYZ ANGEL

  • Reminds me of her meeting John Davidson in Happiest Millionaire. "Are we dancing?" I didn't put the two together for years. But I was just 9 or so. Good clip...

  • Ladies & Gentleman, playing Prince Charminig is "Alan Quratermane.

  • I remember watching this show many times on CBS. Probably never saw in color.

  • for i can tell i may never come down again

  • Thanks for posting this... I loved this song when I was a kid... and listening to it again brought back wonderful memories... i could still sing this song! :-) THANKS!

  • i love this movie i loved her dress

  • I have always loved this film. I too watched it every year. Thanks for posting.

  • The BEST version of Cinderella ever made! Thanks for the posting!

  • Oh My God! I use to watch this movie all the time when I was a kid. For the past week or so I have had this song stuck in my head and I am over joyed at finding it ^_^ Thank you so much.

  • I'm 49 years old and this movie was the most cherished memory of my childhood. I watched it every year it came on TV. I never get tired of watching it.

  • Good vid. The music that just precedes this clip is very memorable, as well.

  • Julie's singing waaaay better!!! But she's the best anyway...

  • i have to watch this one completely, but it's ok so far. The singing is a little rambunctious, though.

  • I've watched this clip/film so many times and I still swoon.

  • :D

    this is just amazing:)

  • v=Kw8euKB7WUQ

This video link on this site is MUCH better quality

  • This is my favorite version of R&H's Cinderella. LOVE this.

  • My favorite version of Cinderella :) Ahh, the memories of running out to the Good Humor Ice Cream truck right before they would air this on tv :) Doesn't get much better than this :)

  • I love the scenery in this scene! It's so nice! Her dress is quite modern copared to everyone else's though ;)

  • Oh, Dr. Quartermaine and Susan from Desperate Housewives' mom!

  • Dr Quartermaine yes... Susan no

  • Lesley Anne Warren played Susan's mom. I didn't remember that she played Ms. Scarlet in Clue. If I had remember, I would've said "Oh, Dr. Quartermaine and Ms. Scarlet."

  • 4 got about the mom. Ur right.

  • L. O. freakin. L! I sang this in 7th grade as the part of the prince. Which is funny because the girl that played Cinderella sang lower than I did so we were quite a funny duo. Ahhh... memories...

  • My all time favorite Cinderella!

  • I love this version so much. I remember the old VHS tape of this. I would watch it all the time and I'd pretend that I was Cinderella. Stuart Damon will always be the Prince to me no matter what version of Cinderella I watch. :)

  • Comment removed

  • she has a long neck

  • but it's no whiter than a swan's... according to the next song.

  • Who wouldn't want to be in love like this?

  • Ten Minutes Ago. Ah . . . it only seems like ten minutes ago that I saw this version of Cinderella as a child in the late 1960's to early 1970's. In reality, it was 40 years ago. But, I remember the songs to this day. They've stayed with me to brighten up many moments.

  • i grew up watching this movie...more loved than The Wizard of Oz...my very favorite version of the movie of all times!!!!!!

  • ALAN QUARTERMAINE.

I love this version of Cinderella, I have this one and the Julie Andrews version on DVD, they're fluffy and wonderful.

  • cinderella was always one of my faves when i was a little girl. i just saw my friend in a production last november and it was just spectacular. ahh, this brings back memories. :-D

  • I remember that this was Lesley Ann Warren's first appearance in either television, or in any medium. She actually was a trained ballerina and had never sung or acted before doing this role.

She has really grown in her acting skills since then. I loved Stuart Damon in this role.

It is ironic about Walter Pidgeon because he started out as an opera singer and in Broadway musicals in the 1920's, but when he became a movie star they rarely allowed him to sing..

  • Actually, Leslie made her Broadway debut in 1963 in the musical, "110 in the Shade." So this was not her first appearance as a singer or actor. She had also already auditioned for Liesl in the film version of "Sound of Music" before she made this TV special. I suspect that audition is what probably brought her to the attention of Rogers & Hammerstein.

  • I gave this version (that I gew up loving) to my little niece a few years ago. She loved it. This version is my favorite. Leslie Ann Warren found the emotional truth of the character that no one else has quite captured. This song is filled with the exhileration of love. It's simplicity only adds to it's magic.

  • This is my favorite Cinderella, Ive loved this song since forever!

  • ever since i was little, i wanted her dress. i still do.

  • I love the Ten minutes ago in this version :D Thanks for sharing!

  • I love Miss Warren, since this Telecast of "Cinderella" and Pidgeon and Rogers.

I just realized that Mr. Damon was in "Star 80"..the TV actor that brushes off Paul Schneider (Eric Roberts) at the Playboy mansion in "Star 80".

  • she's not my favorite but great voice...haha Ms. Scarlet!!

  • my goodness, she has such a long neck!!!

  • her neck is no wider than a swans, shes only as dainty as a daisy, shes only as graceful as a bird ,so why is a fellow goin crazy!!

  • He was just awesome in this! Very handsome, great voice, this still tickles me, I just love it!

  • This song is such a delight

  • Agree... the words flow brilliantly.

  • This song and movie is with a soul male connection from heaven. I have found her, I have found him...I love it all. I shall play this movies (special clips) for my wedding guests as they are waiting for the ceremony to start...especially this part, every point of connection-I shall pay

  • I TOTALLY AGREE!!!

I love this movie soo much... I have been looking for it on youtube forever... and thanks to this song I think I just found it :D

I just really wanted to listen to this song... still waiting for my prince charming but someday we're gonna sing together :D

  • It's possible! What a feeling, to hear the prince sing open his heart with such powerful words...OK, I'm crying. This is my favorite movie, in all the world!

  • i love this song
