  • @efcdk92 I respect your opinion but the Oscars Nominees and Winners, it has to based on every critic and audiences opinion. Exclude ELAIC, that was a fuck up.

  • @efcdk92 i just watched Drive and Shame, I liked them. Films like Tree of Life, Drive and other Arthouse films deserve awards but not Hollywood awards. LOTR was different but it didn't intend to polarize critics and audiences and not being an art-house film. Whether I've seen them or not, they don't deserve to be credited for Hollywood awards because of the polarized reactions it will make. I've known people who hated Tree of Life or love them a lot. Does TOL deserves a best picture nom? No.

  • I thought drive deserved more recognition, and I feel nab for Michael, HP7 didn't deserve a best picture nod it was good but not best pic good.

  • @Gam3Lover oh I'm sorry, just making an opinion like how you're making an opinion on the Oscars. Second of all, I'm not American but if you are American, thanks for making feel lucky I'm not.

  • @edcfk92 I don't really blame the Oscars for the best picture nominees. For example, when they began the ten best picture nominees two years ago, they nominated The Blind Side and that was a huge mistake but the next year, they improved. Now it's 5 - 10 and ELAIC and The Help was a mistake but they'll improve next year.

  • @tiyen11 you've spelt my username wrong twice so it's just by chance i've seen these replies. What reviews are these? everywhere i've seen has been positive and Shame has been getting rave reviews especially the performances of Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan! 80% where? On rotten tomatoes extremely loud...got less than 50% which is the lowest ever to be nominated. So in your logic Drive and Shame must be nominated! Judge a film by watching it and not by random review sites!

  • @efcdk92 About the misspellings, i was on my ipod back then. Im saying that there is a difference between films like Drive and Shame that are for film festival awards worthy and films that are hollywood awards worthy. Seriously, i want a Lars Von Trier to receive a lot of love and rave reviews but nominated for best picture oscar? No. That dosen't mean i hate the film. And i do read reviews because they judged films by watching it, i don't know if im gonna view Shame as great or porn.

  • @efcdk92 And prior to the nominations, i had predictions for the Oscars for films i've seen and didn't see because it depends on what a lot of people say. I've seen The Tree Of Life, i loved it but nominating it for best picture is abnormal. Drive and Shame i do wanna see but they don't deserve best picture not because of the reviews, because there too different for that kind of recognition. So even if i'm sure if i'll like Drive and Shame or not, I'm pumped up to see the acting.

  • @tiyen11 too different? I mean lord of the rings was very much different to the previous winners and the winners in the next few years. So i don't get what you mean. All films deserve the praise if the film is worthy of it and they can't have the idea that 'but it's too different therefore it cannot win.' Just watch them before you dismiss them, you'll definitely change your mind.

  • @efcdk I'm aware I haven't seen them but according to reviews I've been reading, Drive, Shame and Tree of Life aren't really awards worthy like most art-house films shouldn't be awards worthy and besides, Shame got only a 80% and that's not as much as the other 6/9 nominees.

  • lol oscars are not getting watched at all, i don't need some old fools to tell me if drive was the best movie of 2011.Plus fassbender not getting nominated?you have got to be fucking kidding me

  • This years oscars are going to suck! Wtf extremely loud and incredibly close! REALLY! Where is Harry Potter and Alan Rickman. I wish the oscars weren't run by 80 year old men are there death bed.

  • ok...now i'm fucking mad

  • Thinkin about it again, how bad are the oscars this year? absolute joke how Drive wasn't nominated.

  • Drive doesn't deserve a best picture nom. I haven't seen it but it's not really Awards-worthy for it, I heard it divided people's reactions to it and I also heard it's more of a male film rather than a film for both sexes. And that goes for Tree of Life and Shame (except for the gender oriented point). Nominating HPDH2 for best picture is like nominating Avatar for the category in order to get ratings.

  • @tiyen11 if you haven't seen it then why comment? I have (i'm a male and i watched it with 2 other females who loved it, as did I) and it's amazing and it's outrageous that it wasn't nominated but shit like extremely loud...was. Albert Brooks put in a stellar performance too!

  • @tiyen11 Are You Fucking Retarded? your comment is exactly whats wrong with america these days...

  • I know what I am not watching......THE ACADEMY AWARDS!

  • Can i just ask, about the best leading actor category, who would you leave out because all 5 of these performances are oscar worthy, just because no one saw a better life doesnt mean that bichir doesnt deserve a nomination, how could someone say that kristen wig ONLY got a screenplay nomination, do people really think that she deserved a best leading actress nomination!!!!!!, the only real snub was drive not getting nominated for best picture and best supporting actor

  • Harry Potter didn't get nominated :'( Such a Disappointment.

  • @samwii23 to be perfectly honest the last one wasn't the best of the lot so i dont think it deserved one in my opinion.

  • Harry Potter 7 P.2 not nominated? What the fuck are the people running the Academy on?

  • Shame, 50/50, Drive, Take Shelter, Harry Potter, and Planet of the Apes - fuck you academy

  • And David Fincher you should just give up.The academy hates you xDDD.

  • man ryan did a great job in drive truly got lost in his role wow he got snubbed!

  • Bitch acts like the only thing actors and filmmakers make movies for is the academy awards. That's not why Fincher is in the profession he's in so shut the fuck up

  • @WhenICountToThree take the advice of your own name; count to three and calm down.

  • No Drive or Girl With The Dragon Tattoo :(

  • wtf Bridesmaid gets nominations and not Shame or Drive?!!

  • So pissed off that Michael Fassbender didn't get a nomination.

  • Alan Rickman should've been nominated

  • Andy Serkis should have been nominated and harry potter and drive should have been nominated for best picture

  • Oscars from 2004 and before: Genuinely good movies were nominated.

Oscars from 2005 and after: Pretentious movies are nominated.

  • @goldwaterproductions

Pretty much. Not all of them are pretentious movies. The Descendants and The Artist were awesome, and the latter was not gimmicky I thoroughly enjoyed it. Now Extremely Horrid and Incredibly Worthless should not have been nominated. I wrote a very harsh University review for that film, THAT is pretentious "AHHH! 9/11 is in it...so is Tom Hanks, we have to nominate it despite the kid's awful, awful acting". The Help was average as well.

  • @ZacharyRobertson70 as long as they never nominate a low budget Christian B movie ill continue to watch the oscars. Most Christian movies are the epitome of the word pretentious.

  • @goldwaterproductions what about 2007 and The Departed or 2008 and No Country for old men.

  • @efcdk92 oh ya... forgot about those

  • Michael Fassbender should've been nominated.....

  • Yea... I am just gonna be skipping this year's oscars.

  • The oscars are the most prestigious awards in the cinema world. And and the audience should not insult the simple fact that they didnt nominated their favorite. It is completly inmature. Actually, the movies that got nominated deserved it. Bad luck for the rest that didnt make what they exptected.

  • @ENRIQUE881 and they should inturn not insult the audience. Did extremely loud...deserve it? no way.

  • if the help wins best picture, so help me >_<

  • i totaly agree

    fucked up nominations,im angry.

  • Will I watch? Erm nope. 2013 should be infinitely better

  • @efcdk92 Lets just hope so

  • What No Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Pt.2, Drive, Carey Mulligan, Albert Brooks, Leo Dicaprio & Arletty in this year's race? It's all nonsense. Some movie awards season we got.

  • my mistake, i meant 1:08

  • best line ever uttered by grace 1:09

  • Drive not nominated for Best Picture: smh

  • Here's what they should do:

Only allow a film to get UP TO 4 nominations. 11 is way too many for 1 film. AND IT SNUBS FILMS that should've been nominated in certain categories.

  • the Oscars is simple a Hollywood circle jerk. it's sad that they try to get an audience for a simple money changing hands ceremony.

  • @tripleburnmedia you are so wrong, they dont try to get an aundience for simple money. They nominated the movies that deserved being nominated. Drive didnt reach enough votes, that is it. This is a competition, where there are winner and losers. And the peoples chpcie awards and mtv are the awards where just care the audience.

  • I was actually mad that Charlize Theron didn't get a nomination

or even Diablo Cody for her writing...

I love movies and learning about the entertainment business but sometimes they have it wrong...

how is it possible that the Critics Choice/Golden Globes/SAGS were able to get more nominations correct and some people rightfully winning while the Academy leaves everyone in the dust...?

  • FUCK THE ACADEMY

  • Let's face it, Grace. The Academy Awards really don't mean anything to the public anymore. The the slow degradation of viewers over the last 10 years, the Oscars just don't cut it anymore. Add to the fact that they always keep picking DRAMAS 99% for best picture, its like no other category save LOTR:ROTK, Juno and Avatar. They don't acknowledge best picture in viewers choice based on box office. As an example: How many watched Raiders of the Lost Ark compared to Chariots of Fire?

  • o ya and fuck andy serkis he sucks

  • why the hell is everyone on apes and hp's dick those movies suck and no way there oscar worthy that is like nomanting norbit for best picture fuck hp and apes those movis suck

  • Oscars just plain suck!

  • Grace my dear dont think ive ever commented before but it must be said you are perticularly hot when you sai "He's fuckin Magneto!":D

  • What about 50/50? Joseph Gordon-Levitt? those weren't mentioned even here.... thats sad.

  • I predict this year's Oscars will be a ratings disaster. _I_ won't be watching anyway...not a single movie or performance I liked [except for Rooney Mara] or in most cases even went out to see, got a nomination. The movie business shouldn't be about awards anyway...and this year will prove it.

  • Ryan Gosling was SERIOUSLY snubbed. Each of his three films were completely different, George Clooney typically stars in the same genre of film where as Gosling went from Political Drama to Action flick to Romantic comedy without even batting an eyelash! I think I'll just head to Disneyland on Oscar night because the Oscars are just becoming more and more obsolete, when will this stuffed shirts get it? Great films don't always have to be so heavy handed or artsy

  • Shame was one of the most powerful films I've ever seen. It's daring and innovative and features some of the best performances this year. Just shows you that the Oscars is more about politics and less about the actual work itself (hint: Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close).

  • Grace, that is the first time I ever heard you say the f word.

  • I really enjoyed your Oscar coverage Thanks

  • I think 50/50 should have gotten nominated for something like best actor or best picture

  • at least the help got some nods

  • loved the surprise bleep great show as always

  • harry potter was outstanding.

  • The Academy needs to try this. They need to introduce newer, younger members to decide who should win because Andy Sekis deserved that Oscar. But great performances like this will never be recognized for their greatness if people who have retired form the buisness decide these things.

  • Well, i'm boycotting the oscars this year. How could they leave out Drive and Michael Fassbender. I personally thought Melochondria was a good movie, snubbed too. Poor Leo, what does he and Ryan Gosling have to do to get an Oscar?

  • David Fincher is probably the best auteur director to not be accepted by the academy. for some reason they don't like him. its annoying as all hell. having said that i actually didn't like girl with the dragon tatoo

  • Every year it's the same bullshit from the Oscars.

Are they out of touch? No one is more blind than the man who wishes NOT to see.

  • The Academy hates you... ouch!

  • Poor Harry Potter & Deathly Hallows, snubbed by the Academy but I always thought the Oscars hated cash cows. This only proved it for me. The moment Warner Brothers split it into two movies. I just knew Harry Potter won't get any Oscar love. But the others really did deserve the Oscar nod.

  • Comment removed

  • Tilda Swinton being snubbed was very disappointing for me. I thought she absolutely deserved the nomination. However, the lead actress category this year was particularly strong... I'm not sure who she would've replaced.

  • George Clooney is way overrated. Fassbender in Shame is one of the best performances i've seen in years.

  • @dolledupBB You are soo right!! Michael Fassbender is an amazing actor, who rules the screen with his sensitive and powerful performances! I loved him in Hunger, in Shame and I could go on and on! At least they recognize him in Europe!

And who cares about the Oscar?! I think the best directors bump into eachother at his door already!

  • Out of all the Oscars I paid attention to. I absolutely don't give a shit on who wins this year cause its all political bullshit

  • Fassbender no nod? That is so sad.

  • Fuck the Oscars this year!!! Sorry, i don't usually swear like this but it's the only way I can sum up my feelings.

  • Yeah the academy sounds like people who perhaps study together and get better, but instead they seem to just get more and more predictable. The veil really is gone, honestly, I haven't watched the oscars in like 10 years and while perhaps the awards have inspired me to pick up a movie here and there. It's not the defining thing, for example, I will get any David Fincher movie but I don't give a shit about movies about 911, sorry.

  • So wait, Kung-fu panda 2 gets a nom for best animated film but Tintin is left out, what the fuck!

  • @fuzzyskeleton adventures of tintin was disqualified because the academy deemed it as stop motion animation, and that's not allowed into the best animated film category.

  • @umairrrr stop motion is allowed. fantastic mr fox?. i think you mean motion capture

  • If Grace thinks Fincher should just give up then I hope she feels the same way about Nolan. If not then just shut the hell up and let the man make his movies his way and screw the academy right up the tailpipe.

  • I do take comfort in the fact that classic films like Vertigo or Some Like It Hot also never got best picture nominations.

  • The Academy has completely lost touch with the rest of the world. Seriously, if they're just going to hand out the award to the "artsy" movies, then why dont they scrap the ceremony all together? No one wants to watch hours upon hours of fluffy nonsense, all supporting the idea that "we're giving you this award because we want to look good".

  • I think they should remake starwars and harry potter has silent movies THEN maybe they will get nominated for an OSCAR

  • I'm really really really mad about Dicaprio snub Fassy and Serkis >:(

  • I think shame was the best movie this yr and man did it get the snub, no wounder nobody watches the oscars anymore the people who run it are to old and out of touch with the people of today.

  • Drive and Deathly Hallows Part 2 I think were the two best films of the year. Drive is a real gritty thriller and the acting is so intense. Deathly Hallows has huge action scenes (Gringotts scene in particular) and the acting from Alan Rickman wasn't even considered! Gah! I think Oscars should take a % of public voters (however make sure they're established watchers tehe)

  • More importantly, why should films like Shame and Drive, which have topped most top 10 lists, get snubbed while Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, a film that has been called one of the years worst, get a Best Picture nom? Shameful Academy, shameful. That pun was completely intended by the way.

  • @SilentJoe13 This year really is bizarre in terms of Oscar noms.

  • I was'nt surprised when films like Potter & Drive got snubbed so bad. Theyre not the type of films the Academy nominates. What I don't get is why Shame was completely left out. It may have been wishful thinking for a Best Picture or Best Director nom but Mulligan AND Fassbender getting snubbed is the biggest travesty to happen since Shakespeare in Love beat Saving Private Ryan. They gave fantastic performances that were better than most of the nominees. Its, for lack of a better word, a "shame".

  • Fassbenders snub is the most inexcusable snub in the history of the Oscars. He is (in my opinion) the best actor in the WORLD right now. Going all the way back to Hunger, he was even fantastic in 300. His performance in Inglorious Bastards was so...fucking...brilliant. I think next year he will get multiple nominations and this time next year he will be the biggest movie star on the planet.

  • The people at the Academy awards deserve a break. I mean they deserve credit for going outside what with all the scary cell phones, flying machines, and internet.

  • Okay everyone plan B, Let's all focus on not letting Breaking Dawn win best movie let alone anything at the MTV movie awards this year.

  • Academy Awards are heading more and more downhill. It's hard for them though, I guess. There haven't really been clear, undeniably great/amazing movies or performances in a while. And when there is, they aren't really "Academy friendly." I dunno, I still like watching, but no Andy Serkis nom? Freaking crazy.

  • I was very disappointed with the nominations this year.

  • Tom Hardy is a WAY better actor than Fassbender

    thumbs up if you agree

  • @themenaceanish Personally, I think they are both brilliant. But everyone has their own opinions. I suppose Hardy would be better than Fassbender in some roles, and vice versa.

  • FUCK THE OSCARS!!!! they think they decide what is best!!! I rather judge myself...I know many people saying " you should watch this.. it won best picture!!!" and then it sucks!!! boycot the oscars and cinema will be better for it.

  • Tintin not nominated?

NO NOMINATION FOR MICHAEL PARKS' PERFORMANCE IN RED STATE?

  • who cares what the oscars say is a good movie - they been irrelevant for decades. they have thier head so far up thier own ass they can see the gum they ate 5 years ago, and count the corn before it comes out. they would probably give that a oscar too.

  • I still haven't forgiven The Hurt Locker for stealing (yes, STEALING) Avatar's Best Picture Oscar 3 years ago.

  • The snubs I'm pissed off about:

Tintin not being nominated for best animation, Fassbender not being nominated AT ALL and the academy completely ignoring Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part II and Rise of the Planet of the Apes in the best film category.

    WHY?

  • @8bitASSASIN The Academy doesn't count Tintin as an animated film because of the motion capture which is a crock of BS in my opinion.

  • @ludaKrisKingdom

Point taken, although Tintin did take out the award for best animated film in the Golden Globes. Even though Tintin is not animated, It deserves at least 1 award, which it will not likely get in it's nominated category; best original score. Also back in 2006, Monster House was nominated for best animated film in the Oscars, so why not Tintin?

  • Poor Leo, I was hoping he'd get a win this year. But not even a Nom! He's such a brilliant actor and has been turning out epic performances for years: Gilbert Grape, Basketball Diaries, Titanic, The Aviator, Blood Diamond, Shutter Island, Inception, the list goes on. Why wont the Academy recognise his Talent!!! Instead they're probably going to give the Oscar to Clooney, who IMO is just OK and already HAS an Oscar! The Oscars have become more about politics and campaigning than quality of films

  • The biggest snubs were Michael Fassbender for Shame and Elizabeth Olsen and John Hawkes for Martha Marcy May Marlene

  • The Oscars are such snobs. Moneyball is not even that good.

  • The Oscars have a sticks up their asses

  • There is nothing i want to see this years at the Oscars.

  • Tintin only being nominated for 1 award got under my skin.

  • Out of touch with audiences? What does the audience have to with anything? I've always respected the Academy Awards over the other awards shows because because a movie doesn't have to be a blockbuster behemoth in order to win. With the Oscars it's quality over quantity and that's how it should be.

  • I just don't understand why Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 wasn't nominated for any major category. How can the Academy just ignore the last movie to a worldwide franchise thats been going on for 10 years? I want it to be at least nominated for best picture. AT LEAST. I grew up with that series and it would be a shame to see the last movie not nominated. They should seriously reconsider about this...

  • the fact that drive didn't get nominated made me flip the fuck out.

  • They are TOO OLD! All the films that win are slow set Drama's. Some enjoyable, most boring. I think they are confusing great story with slow confusing drama.

  • He's fucking Magneto?

  • the snubbed people probably do take it seriously, but not nearly as seriously as you put it here Grace... saying Fincher should give up? Calling DiCaprio's year a waste? Saying Rowling and Serkis haven't made worthy contributions? Fortunately none of this really depends on whether people get nominated or not. It would certainly help some people, like Fassbender or Gosling, but you laid it out kinda harsh there. Also Kristin Wiig didn't deserve a nod for acting at all, considering the other noms

  • It's almost as if the academy doesn't want anyone to watch this years telecast? The only movie that the TV viewers will be rutting for will be Bill Crystals return and to hope that the Help wins Best Picture.

  • Well Grace I would have to agree with you about the Academy not having any audience favorites in the major categories. I was shocked and appalled that from the any where from 5 to 10 we get nine. Add to that Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close should not have been Nominated. It should have gone to other favs Like :

    1) Bridesmaids

    2) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt.2

    3) Shame

These are truly some of the better films this year.

  • All this means to me is that the ceremony is going to be even more tedious and endless than last year. See: Golden Globes. I think I'll check in for the red carpet and then check out. Really, The Descendants??? I get why Cars 2 and Harry Potter weren't nominated but that just makes it a shame that they didn't nominate HP3 when they had the chance.

  • All this means to me is that the ceremony is going to be even more tedious and endless than last year. See: Golden Globes. I think I'll check in for the red carpet and then check out. Really, The Descendants???

  • All these snubs are such BS. I'm especially pissed that Andy Serkis didn't get anything.

  • No Love for Drive from the Academy...Just Sound Editing??!?!..GODDAMIT!!!!

Drive was such an amazing movie!!!..What the hell is going on?!?!?Its high time the members of the Academy retire and get new members so that Andy Serkis, David Fincher and so many others get the nominations they deserve

  • Well to be fair Cars 2 was a terrible film so I could see why it didn't get nominated. Also where did that F-bomb come from? As always great vid and keep'em coming.

  • How can Melissa McCarthy and Kristin Wigg get nominated and David Fincher can't? In all honesty, Bridesmaids is generic, mediocre, and overrated. Something is seriously wrong with the Academy snubbing Fincher all together but nominated somone who craps in a sink. If the Academy wants to go that route, maybe Andy Serkis should have thrown his fieces so he can get a nod as well! But anyway, Fincher is one of the greatest living directors, its terrible not to give him the nod for Dragon Tattoo.

  • @ecwfanatic93 i agree it's funny how the academy passed up the girl with the dragon tattoo, harry potter part 2, the muppets, and tinker tailor solider spy for films such as extremely loud and incredibly close. which compared to those has mediocre reviews also no nominations for nicholas winding, steven spielberg, ryan gosling, or the performance of andy serkis. i'm not saying that the academy is stuffy, but come on stop making different choices for the sake of being different

  • OH MY GOD GRACE HAHAHAH i love you i'm a huge fassbender fan. i love how you say "and he is f***ing magneto!" ahhahahaha

  • 50/50?! COME ON!

  • There should really be a board of critics and reviewers respected by audiences to choose the nominees. The Academy Awards today are becoming irrelevant, as stereotypes have been developed to the types of films that get nominated- and labeled as "arthouse." The films that get nominated should be the best of the year or shown by film maker dedication- Harry Potter, Drive, Melancholia, and a couple other choice actors were snubbed.

  • Grace's f-bomb: OoO wow! im ok, it just took me by surprise.

  • Billy Crystal was slightly funny 20 or so years ago. All he is now is just a man that represents a funny memory. Not really worthy of being the host more than once. "He is fucking Magneto." Was an awesome line.

  • big up Rooney Mara, I didn't expect her to make the list. I think Gosling should have gotten a best actor nomination for Ides of March though; he owned that movie. Serkis was great as Caesar but a best supporting nom is, understandably, a stretch. I hope The Girl kicks up a hornet's nest next month.

  • Harry Potter should have at least been nominated, well I guess Rowling will just go back to her mansion and cry

  • B-but Andy Serkis!

  • im a huge movie fan and i dont give a damm about the oscars. the movies we all love will stand the test of time. the truly brilliant filmmakers that put their love into their movies are remembered in our hearts.

  • @TurboBangoo I am with you in this one, i love movie and my favorite movie Drive wasn't nominated... but i know the critics love it, the people love it(some of them), and specially I love it... So that's what matters here.... but still i want to see the oscars!!!!

  • It's hard to carry old people =/

  • That was the first time I ever heard Grace have to bleep out her own f-bomb. And I find that kind of awesome. I need to watch these videos more.

  • I was PISSED about Young Adult and Shame. I think I prefer the Golden Globes.

  • WHAT ABOUT MELANCHOLIA!? That movie deserved Best Actress for Kirsten, Best Supporting for Charlotte and Best Picture nomination. Come on

  • the academy is too old fashioned, they gotta get some younger people in there. movies are changing whether like it or not.

  • lol, the academy awards don't mean anything; just a bunch of stuck-up oldies who can't get in touch with the movie-going audience (just my opinion anyways). ^.^

  • The only thing I hate about the nominees this year is that there's only two contenders for Best Original Song!

  • At least Nick Nolte got a nomination for Warrior :)

  • we want harry potter!

  • stop the oscar snob snubbing

  • Take Shelter much?

  • In recent years, Academy has became more and more inexplicable. Too many names and titles deserving at least a nomination are missing and too many stupid and pretentious ones are nominated... And seriously: MIDNIGHT IN PARIS? Are you all just effin' kidding me?! That movie was horribly stupid and senseless, just nodding to pseudo-intellectual douches.

  • The girl with the dragon tattoo, DRIVE, and shame got screwed

  • I'm glad Cars 2 was not nominated for best animated. Now, The Adventures of Tintin, Arthur's Christmas and most importantly, Winnie the Pooh were totally robbed at this year's oscars. Instead we got two movies I haven't even heard of (I'm sure they're good but I still would of liked to see Pooh or the others get a nom), Puss in Boots(a good movie, but I don't think is really deserving of a nom), Kung Fu Panda (which I could totally see nominating) and Rango which I hope will win in that category

  • I can't believe they snubbed drive, the girl with the dragon tattoo, and rise! this is the last straw. I think this is the largest amount of snubs I've ever witnessed from the academy. Very disappointing and I will not watch it this year. I'll just wait for BTT's coverage of it. Drive was my favorite film of the year

  • I think the GOlden Globes have more common sense than the Osccars

  • I don't know. I don't give a shit. It's inconsequential to me I guess.

  • Hey Grace, how come there's no vote for supporting actress on the poll?

  • I don't care about the oscars. I haven't for about 3 years.

  • apparently none of the movies had any good music either seeing as how there are only two noms for that one.

  • Tintin also got snubbed in the animation category. Kung Fu Panda 2? Seriously?

  • WHY!!!!!!!!!!! oh the help had better win

  • What could you expect from an Academy that nominated Avatar for Best Picture? That's just the way it is. I've never looked to the Oscar to know which was a good movie, they're all about the money.

  • I have not watched nor cared about the Oscars since Russell Crow lost best actor for "A Beautiful Mind" to the not very impressive "Training Day." Denzel Washington is an amazing actor but honestly the movie he one best acting for was inferior to "A Beautiful Mind" and so was his acting (though still good)...in my opinion.

  • Lets just hope The Dark Knight Rises gets lots of nominations next year.

  • Great video, Grace! A lot of this films I have yet to see, though I did love Harry Potter and Rise of the Planet of the Apes. I also definitely think Mission: Impossible 4 deserved SOME kind of nomination.

  • Hey Grace! Do you have any idea why "The Adventures of Tintin" didn't get a nominations for best animated feature? I just can't find a reasonable reason why it didn't get that horner, and movies like "Kung Fu Panda 2" and "Push in Boots" did! Before the announcement of the nominations, I was sure it would win in that category like it did at the Golden Globes.

  • @DaAwesomeSubscriber It uses live action, which means it can't get nominated for best animated feature.
