I'm working on a documentary version of this show, which will include new information and observations. This was a live broadcast, so apologies about the microphone!
the upside down crucifix on the pope's chair is symbolic of St. Peter's crucifixion upside down, thus the pope sits in the Chair of St. Peter (the first pope).
I watched EWS on DVD for the first time the other day. Directly afterwards I just happened to picked up a book about Marilyn Monroe that my girlfriend was reading. I opened it at a random page, it read: V. "Rainbow's End'.
very interesting information conveyed in here. although i have to say the confusion w/ the slides and the hosts' fumbling/repetition of words was really distracting. other than that a really nice job. keep up the good work
eyes wide shut is an underrated movie. I think people judged it too harshly against his other movies (Tom and Nicole didn't help much either). But Kubrick's unmistakeable touch still makes it watchable, and the orgy scene is nothing short of miraculous, albeit in a very macabre way.
I hope you're referring the the uncensored version of the orgy sequence. It's SO much better, not because you see more nudity but because of the beautiful composition and craft.
the Requiem Mass - Mozart couldn't have been symbolic even if he wanted because the Requiem Mass has a set text. He was comissioned to write one by a Count who ended up performing it a few years after Mozart's death. The count pretended to write if for his dead wife - I don't know how you tie that in with the rest of the Masonic Mozart parts cause the Mass has a set text and Mozart had no choice to compose to those words - unlike an opeara.
If you read the Novello diaries, apparently Constanze's second husband Von Nissen had a pyramid at his grave site at the time which was the early 1800's. As a matter of fact, Mozart's memorial in Vienna was vandalized at least once, and rumor has it someone has his skull, a fake being held at the Mozarteum. Anyway Von Welsegg, the Count you refer to never could claim credit for the piece because the work was incomplete and had to be finished by Mozart's pupil.
1)I was a music major - from my history lessons - the work was eventually finished in a haphazard way by a pupil and Constanze claimed the rest of the fee - delivered the piece to the Count and the Count without knowing pretended that he wrote it for his dead wife - had it performed but then the contrary was discovered years later. But i'm no definite source for this - just my music history class.
Yes you're right. I only just discovered that the text for the Requiem was widely used. However I still think that Mozart had issues with the Freemasons. The painting I mention in the video seems to admit this. Also, Mozart was not given a proper burial whereas had he been a Mason in good standing, this would not have been the case. Some will say that it was common to be buried this way, yet Leopold and even Constanze's 2nd husband were given the courtesy of a burial.
2) I first saw that painting in that class and heard about a "conspiracy" - which you now are delving into - where is the rest of your work??? I don't doubt you - just thought I would share that from what I learned in Music History - the Requiem was finished cause Mozart sketched a lot of the ending and the pupil filled in some and finished by copying from the beginning. I remember we all laughed at the Count who thought he would get away w/ it.
I will be looking forward to watch the development of your research. It is unfortunate that part two of your conversation about Mozart and Kubrick has not yet been posted.
Now, I appreciate the passion and the seriousness of this reserch, but as always with coincidences, supposed "hidden" meanings, and parallels, it is possible to build an entire, completely arbitrary cabalistic system.
I agree with you completely. I'll even be the first to admit that people who are fascinated by conspiracy theories seem to be willing to accept any explanation as an alternative if it involves the occult. However, I am working on a more thorough documentary based on this research, and I believe that the facts are very strong to point out my hypothesis.
Very splendid work! I think I am hooked on the "Beautiful Losers". Do you have a website? Is the show filmed in front of an audience, or is there a forum for discussion available? Again, great work. I am going to watch the second part right away.
Thank you. I only have the myspace page and that link is on the youtube main page. No, it's not filmed in front of an audience, but it does go out live. I'm working on a documentary which combines my interpretation of most of Kubrick's work.
Actually, that is intentional. You have to understand that this is a live TV show and it runs for an hour. I have to pace everything to make sure I will have time to fit everything in. Though for this particular show, I had so much information that I didn't have time to ramble on like I do with some of my other shows, so I'm really not quite sure what you mean.
you guys should listen to Jay Weilder's Red Ice Radio interview Kubrick's Alchemy. If you are interested in this topic. Pretty wild stuff.

I am surprised you have not seen the man standing off center next to the staff on center over the rainbow entrance sign ~27:00
I wish I could move your mic a little further away from you.

"Don't you want to go where the rainbow ends?"
What does rainbow's end actually mean? What does that random page say?

why did they use fidelio as the password?
soparu 3 years ago
fidelity? Infidelity?
Name of Beetoven's (I can't spell it) only opera?
soccom8341576 3 years ago
i know that...but WHY did they use fidelio as a password?
soparu 3 years ago
It's a kind of foreshadow to what happens next. The mysterious woman, believed to be Mandy, redeems him and Bill Harford was free to go.
Similar story in Fidelio. Look it up.
