@celestehatagaki  you choose the custom firmware for your iphone, you can download the firmware @ bit(dot)ly/qOxTJH and its depending on what type of iphone you have like if you have the 3gs u choose "IPHONE 3G S (4.3.1)" and click download

if you have your ipod or iphone on dfu , an its show you on recovery mode on itunes an you get the 3194 error you have to press the home an the sleep botton at the same time until the apple logo appear, wait a couple of minutes and you would be able 2 use you iphone again , your iphone must be not connected to your pc when you to these ,thumbs up so people can know,

ok try the following:

1. open up itunes

2. connect the ipod/iphone usb to the COMPUTER ONLY

3. make sure ur device is completely of

4. hold down the home button and connect the usb to the device while still pressing the button (don;t let go of the button)

5. when u see message on your screen that says something like "Your iPhone (iPod) Is In Recovery mode, you must restore" then u can let go of the button and restore

hey i downloaded the firmware thingy from felixbruns but it is saved as a zipped file

i changed the ending to .ipsw but when i click shift restore and click the ipod 4.1 file, it goes into it and it says firmware

i click firmware and it goes into it and shows all_flash and dfu. i click those and it goes into it and shows more files. but when i click those files the screen says no previews available.

Your browser may change the ipsw-file into a zip-file. In that case, just rename it to end in .ipsw and iTunes will accept it.

That is easy to fix the problem is that the file extension is wrong. So what you need to do is open documents, click organize on the top left, click folder and search options, then click view, and uncheck the hide extensions for known file types. And last but most important go to your restore, right click rename, and at the end of the name change it to .ipsw instead of .zip
