God, I am so worried about this movie. The Wachosky brothers are so shitty, it's almost impossible that they will do this show justice. I already hate how the races look like Mario Kart Double Dash. The live action part looks pretty good, but the driving looks terrible, and without the racing, it can't be good.
Thats why the American Humane Association created its Film and Television Unit to over see the use of animals in movies... If they did abuse the chimp, they would be flag and be in the mercy of 10 million+ animal rights activist in America and the media. And animals are in fact entertaining and thats why we take care of them as companions like any other friend.

well uhm is it safe to say Afro Samurai was sick and The X-MEN (the comics) were good but heavily censored. Did anyone know that Wolverine was a smoker up until now. Speed Racer is old school Manga an so far I'm loving the new revisioned one. I just hope the story line dosen't suck because those special effects were off and on to me.

To a degree, I can see what you mean. It's that obviously got that super-fake look at times that Spykids had, but that simply could be what they chose to include in the trailer. We'll have to see if any other trailers that are released have the same look, and even then, it's not guaranteed to be different material from the movie.

Well I had low expectations for Alvin and the Chicmunks and that turned out to be decently good. I'll waste my $10 to go see it, I was a huge fan of Speed Racer, I know he came on way before my time but I use to love watchin him on USA, he use to come on late at night also, then moved to Cartoon Network there for a while and then sadly all those good cartoons got pushed out by these Japanese fighting cartoons.
I LOVE SPEED RACER, it looks ok action wise. These guys did great with the matrix but it seems like they kiddie-fied it some.The color pallets are very cartoony like in the movie Dick Tracy but if you don't blend it well with live action and cgi it looks goofy. And John goodman as Pops Racer? Pops is beefy not fat, grouchy,and short tempered
Milla Kunis is a better choice for trixie and why does every costumed hero have to be in black Racer-X wears all
This is his first appearance in an "American" film. I don't think he should have accepted being in this movie either way. And yeh, I don't think the lead suits Speed/Mifune Go very well either.

This movie is fine the way it is. The reason why the movie is so colorful is because its fuckin' Speed Racer. This isn't a Batman movie. The original Speed Racer anime didn't have a dark theme to it and it had cheesy, unrealistic driving. This movie does is fine the way it is. >>.

The CGI remind me of a Crusin' game in the arcades. With the backgrounds and everything. Also, I believe that was Racer X at the end of the trailer. Supposedly he is played by Matthew Fox (Jack on Lost).
The CGI looks good and the racing fantastic. I will make sure I will have some bud before I go and see this one..... With all of those colors and all, it will be a real trip!!!!!

This movie is fine the way it is. The reason why the movie is so colorful is because its fuckin' Speed Racer. This isn't a Batman movie. The original Speed Racer anime didn't have a dark theme to it and it had cheesy, unrealistic driving. This movie does is fine the way it is. >>.

Ah jez, Something tells me this movie is gonna suck, but I still wanna see it for some reason. I used to love the show.
Also does anyone else think the racing scenes in this movie look like the races in F-Zero GZ the game, the tracks they race on are over the top in this movie kinda like the crazy ones in the game. Im just sayin this cuz the racing scenes remind me of F- Zero.

For me as a anime fan. I think this is great! I'm not a fan of speed racer. But hey it's a start! I think they should now make a DBZ movie like this or a Death Note movie.

Man I wish they would make all new English versions of the Death Note movies, im in the middle of watching the anime on Adult Swim, and I think a live action movie could kick ass in America if it was done right.

yea....I was woundering if they where gonna do that myself. I was reading somewhere that they where thinking about making a american live action Death Note but, they haven't decided yet...I could be wrong... It could of been that they where just thinking about dubbing it.... I wish they would remake it. With all of the effect they could add to it. It would be awesome! ^^

i was imagine car races like they did in Matrix Reloaded.....the car chasing in the freeway was awesome, but is a lot of CGI to much colors, the races doesn't looks real, disappointing.

The CGI remind me of a Crusin' game in the arcades. With the backgrounds and everything. Also, I believe that was Racer X at the end of the trailer. Supposedly he is played by Matthew Fox (Jack on Lost).
