The reason why they sing in swedish is actually because the first singer was one of the few finnish who normally speak swedish. The 'it sounds more trollish', was just a joke. :p

Yeah, the word "Lai" comes from yoiking.

Apparently, in Sami/Finnish yoiking, lai is used alot but Finnish folk metal bands now use it in their singing.

I guess it just stuck with the people/language over the years.
