  • "Close that muthafucka down!"

  • Edit Events doesn't work for me. I can create wobble speeds via LFO but the tone doesn't change, just gives me a flat note each time even though the chart clearly shows that I changed the speeds.

  • HOOD CLASSIC

  • Thats whats up!! If you want some free kits check me out

  • The portamento tool won't work with third party VSTs :(

  • What lead were u using with the 3xOsc?

  • kev every time i see your vids... you have these wave things where the automation clips are... for me it says track 1, track2, ect... how do i get to that?

  • are you a scouser?? haha me too mann :')

  • oh yeah, im kev LOL

  • STILL UNSURE xD

  • Tnx man!

  • nice tutorial mate thanks .

  • Dude...you have just totally saved my sanity! As a selt-taught bloke, I have been messing with FL for years....but never managed to find a tutorial that explained automation clips to me..(mainly because I never knew how to explain what I was after!).

Thankyou so much for your help! I find it difficult to take in a lot of tutorials, i.e - NFX Warbeats, as the presenter tends to mumble and go off on tangeants....but you are a great tutor and a top man. Good effort, son!

  • Awesome vid, get FL Studio FREE with this video - /watch?v=Wmne-KCyNYA

  • Ive sussed it now lol :)

    Thanks for this tutorial mate

  • cool tutorial but not what i was searchin for ^^

  • Hey, man - this has been really handy but I need a bit of advice: how do you stop the volume from resetting itself?!? I get the filter and res to sound how I want on a certain bass loop over, say, 14 bars - yet when the bass kicks back in after the break the fucking volume resets itself to a really low level... and it does it for the whole track!! I try resetting it but every time I click back into the main track editing window it just does the same thing again. It's driving me up the wall!!

  • I've been trying to figure that out for a VERY long time. Thanks for uploading this, even though I was close to two years late to seeing it.

  • @sketcha09 hahaha better late than never though bro! :)

  • Your tutorials are really good dude. Thanks

  • good video..but didn't help much...CAN'T understand a freekin' thing you said!

  • Turn the Volume Higher then lmfao

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH DUDE, now i can make things change notes without autotune...in other words, THANK YOU SO MUCH

  • i tried using this with realstrat guitar plug-in but it does nothing when i use portemento

  • ledgend m8,love what ur doing for the scene n im going to buy u a drink if i eva bump into u lol, keep up the work m8 some people really appreciate it :)

  • thanks, this hepled alot, but i cant get it to work for z3ta. do u know how to get the filter effects to work on it?

  • same, please help kev! :)

thanks for the work ya doing!

  • touch the nob you want to adjust. in the upper left hand corner of the VST there should be an arrow. Click that, go to Browse Parameters. A big list of variables in the vst will be displayed. The one you last tweaked will be highlighted. Right click it and hit edit events. There ya go.

  • you talk fast.

  • yo does anybody knows a tut where they explain how to gradually increase an effect(not volume) ? grtz n thanks

  • i cant understand what he's doin, but i can understand what he's sayin

  • so listen to what i say to understand what i do!

  • am new to fl so i dont know half the things on there but ok lol

  • hahahahaha fuckin brilliant

  • @BartlingIsMyName it's the opposite for me XD

  • @BartlingIsMyName LOL. I can understand what he's doin, but I can't understand what he's saying T_T. we should combine forces.

  • i can barely understand you

  • i love the reu reu when u made the purple filter lol thankss

  • How Do i trigger patterns with a midi keyboard? PLZZ

  • make sure ya midi keyboard is setup with whatever sequencer ya using in fruitys casefind what ya wanna automate move it about a bit then click the top left go down to edit events --- link to controller then move the knob or whatever on your midi keyboard and itll be linked to that

  • huh?? casefind? move the knob?? little more help plzz :P

    you R the best =)

  • that meant in fruitys case find i forgot to press space....

watch my video on how to sidechain and youll learn if ya right click on sumthn (after yav twiddled it a little so its known as the last thing on ya fruity history) ya can edit events from doing this theres something called link to controller..... you can then move a knob or anything on your midi keyboard and it will correspond to whatever youve just moved

  • thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, 5*

  • what kind of plugin is that !

  • lol yeah at the beginning XD "Oh Yeah i'm Kev" XD Dnt forget who you are bro haha

  • good stuff ma man! thnks!

  • Will Portamento work with FL Slayer?

  • its a fruity plugin so yeah should do man!

  • Is there any way to edit events or create an automation for VSTi's that aren't part of FL. For example ABL2 synth and I want to have the cutoff change as the track progresses. ABL2 is just an example, edit events isn't available on any non-FL VST/i. Surely there must be a way.

  • yeahh move whatever ya wanna tweak then click the top left (shoudl be an arrow) then go to last tweaked parameter! :)

  • Thanks a bunch dude, that did the trick.

  • top left of what? Are you saying you just move the clip in playlist?

  • can you tell me what plugin you're using for those synths??

  • ezy wat software are u usin to make these vid m8

  • fruity loops!!!

  • Is there anyway in vanguard to get the cut-off to keep increasing till it gets to a certain point? You do it in this video but vanguard doesnt have the [INS] menu :(

  • Never mind i found it out :D

  • ahh thats good dude its just edit events :)

  • how to you stop the automation clip from being so large everytime i open its , its damn annoying to shorten it everytime...plz help

  • ya just cut it where ya want or depending on what ya want to automate make sure its not that logn (like make sure the thing you want to automate only runs ove rlets say 8 bars) that way it should only open up for them 8 bars

  • he had the song stop arrow set in the "timeline" in the playlist, set it off, so it will have the length of de arrangemant and if u select a short peace, it will have this length

  • i can't use portamento on nexus :S it wont work :S please help

  • havent a clue dude unless it has portamento itself it wont work!

goes with EVERY vsti plugin unless theyve got portamento itll work but if ya try and use the fl porta it wont work unless its sumthn FROm fruity ie. ts404 3x osc etc...

  • yeah i wish i could use a porta on some of my nexus samples but ya just have to learn to tweak it or deal wit it... sucks i know =(

  • hey man, im following all your things on youtube, theyre so helpfull dude, thanks heaps. and ur songs a awesome... what are u using to film ur computer screen??

  • its a free program called camtasia =]

  • good tutorial but the problem im having is i cant find how to use these features on my new plugins vanguard and z3ta.. have u got them plugins n if u have can u do a little tutorial on how to use portamento, etc on they plugins..

    cheers

  • on vanguard i think the only close thing to porta your gunna get is "glide" but thats a bit shit haha! only works for some sounds! on z3ta in the oscillators box youll see a button near the top right saying GL p.time stands for the portamento time the higher the knob the more porta =]

  • WATCH THE KNOB!

I always found edit events to be less accurate and more fiddly than automation clips, but everyone has different tastes.

Get that gating tut up! I'm stumped about it, I usually use Fruity Love Philter and hope for the best, but ya know. Cheers. :]

  • What would be the easiest way to gate riffs in fruity? Is there an easy way u can do it using automation?

  • Right you might get confused about this so i think ill do a video on it!

open up a 3x osc as the default sound then add a peak controller onto its effects

on the peak controller turn the volume and decay all the way right and drag the shape all the way up

change the LFO shape to triangle and drag that shape up a little bit now open up what ya want "gated" and on the volume knob right click link to controller on internal controller pick PEAK & LFO click accept =]

  • now all you do is have ya melody going or whateevr ya having and where ya want it to gate put a note in the piano roll of the 3x osc =]

    hope that helps dude!

  • perfect mate, ur a legend!!!! =)

  • Always used "create automation clip" to do this, an it seems to get messy, edit events seems much easier, cheers again =)

  • Another sucessful tutorial, time to try and put it to use!

  • indeed dude!

no point in just watchn and not trying it out for yaself youll come up with laodsa great stuff ya didnt think ya could do! =]

  • Lol "Awah! Why are you that big." Anywho, nice tut Kev.

  • what instrument are u using?

  • its just the 3x osc what ya get with fruityloops

  • lol he said knob... hehehehhehe

  • whats funnier the word knob or penis *-) haha!

  • penis hehehe any day i cant even say it without lafing

  • hahahahaha!!!!! =]

  • this guys a laf. thx helped alot!

  • Thank you - really, really helpful.

  • glad it helped dude =]

  • Great tutorial! Thanks a lot!

I love your tracks keep rockin':)

  • hey ha i need t ask u a question??

    k here it is ..

say if i want the gold saw in the sytrus to do the filter on the 3x osc ..

is dere a way i can do it / connect it to it???

    thanks Evan...

  • yeah open up sytrus then click "main" at the top left then at the bottom left youll see an X Y controller (the square) then click a new channel in the playlist click the record button then move the cross hair inside the square from top right to bottom right cos it tells you that the y controller is the filter cut off do this however you want then stop the recording of the automation

  • nice straight forward tutorial.. btw `polyphony` means if you choose say [32] - then you will hear 32 notes in succession all blending into one another. As soon as you exceed 32 notes then it resets..not that you would ever hear 32 notes together unless you were doing major strings, orchestral stuff!

  • well get you mr know it all haha!

cheers man! yeah i just describe is as thats how many notes ya can have together haha! techincal stuff might confuse people haha!

  • there is also another trick you can do with portomento which creates a pitch-bend up effect. You do it by holding down on C1 and pressing down on all the other notes up to C3 individually

  • Amazing yet again!! really helping me understand these buttons and stuff :O I was so lost, I'm such a visual learner this is perfect for me

    thanks a bunch!!

  • helped me shit laods thanks kev honestly i am well impressed with this tutorial :D:D:D:DD:D:DD

  • so ya should be i made it for you hahaha! =]

  • good tutorial at 8:56 i also use that technique usually lol
