I don't like how they bring up the Olympics before the NHL sent players. Canada has two golds in four tries since the NHL started sending players in 98, and there's no reason to believe that trend wouldn't have continued before. (Especially in the 80s with players like Gretzky and Messier in their primes) Canada dominates the field when their best talent is available to play.

The highlite of the Olympics was obviously the Gold medal win vs the US but if that moment was a 100, this was a 99.9 for me cus many expected a Canada-Russia final, instead, it happened in the quarters so likely, the winner of this game was going to go on to win the gold. Canada has two golds in four tries since the NHL started sending players in 98, and there's no reason to believe that trend wouldn't have continued before. @PKrainikov How is it a reality if its well documented that the game of hockey was invented in Canada, the first games where played here. not in russia like i said you only can dream that russia invented hockey, Canada has more hockey players than any other country and our pop is only 34 million, nice try though.

@PKrainikov Finland does not have more hockey players than Canada, sure according to their population of roughly 5.4 million their ratio of hockey players is higher than Canada`s but bottom line is Canada has more hockey players than any other nation, and produces more high end talent than any other nation, want proof, look at the NHL. Then look at the nationality percentages of all players.

The highlite of the Olympics was obviously the Gold medal win vs the US but if that moment was a 100, this was a 99.9 for me cus many expected a Canada-Russia final, instead, it happened in the quarters so likely, the winner of this game was going to go on to win the gold. Few will argue that the Russians are the 2nd greatest hockey country in the world so to win that easily and convincingly against them showed what great hockey players Canada has.

What Cuthbert doesn't tell you - the Russians played with pros all those years, while everyone else used amatures. Since '98 - when ALL teams were allowed to use pros - Canada - 2 Gold ('02' 10), Sweden- 1 Gold ('06), Czech- 1 Gold ('98). Where is Russia??? That is all.....
